Chapter 15: Long days await!

'Tidal wave fist! Man, this shit sounds so cool!'

At first glance, Ning Yue is already amazed by its name.

"This martial art based on Azure style and Eruption fist, warning, still in progress need further test result. Is this brand new?! Is the master creating this for me?"

The more he reads, the more he feels enthusiasm.

"The core principle of this martial art is the burst of power from eruption fist, but also the control of flow from Azure style, not recommended to use continuously because the energy can quickly go out of control and affect balance, only use it in short rotation."

This scroll contains a lot of warnings and fundamental knowledge; luckily, most of the stuff in here Hou Yi already taught him.

"Even though he isn't here, he still gave me instruction."

Ning Yue smiled after finally reaching the martial art part.

The name "greatest teacher" of Hou Yi didn't come from nothing; he was the one who rewrote the Azure style for newcomers and also the one who picked most of the martial art the sect had to offer.

After all, he is the elder in charge of education, so writing new martial arts is one of his expertise.

"First form, crashing wave, instead of propelling one part of the body like the moon rising from Azure style, crashing wave using your whole body to create more momentum to enchant the combo potency. (eruption fist) Oh, he cited the credit?"

Ning Yue closed and put the scroll down before copying the scroll's move.

"Use martial power to shoot yourself forward by using your front feet as a balancing point…."

*BOOM*

"WAH!!"

Ning Yue almost tripped, face slammed to the ground; good, he used his hand to lean on in time.

"So that is what affects balance. It looks like I have a LOT of work to do before I can go out!"

Ning Yue picked the scroll back up, quickly skimmed through, and found only 3 forms written on it with the note on the back saying "work in progress."

It passes from morning to noon, and Ning Yue finally gets the hang of the first form and decides to stop continuing.

"This should be enough for today; I need to start gathering pills."

He decided to make a routine, training in the morning and doing missions in the afternoon so he could rest at night.

Back to the sect's commission center, he goes.

The sect's commission center is crowded as usual, but today is full of disciples.

"Hey, do you like to go out sometimes?"

"Sure. What mission do you want to take?"

"Ah…."

Ning Yue walks past many boys and girls of different ages, but they are primarily around his age even though he looks vastly different because of his height and mass.

Luckily, because the sect's commission center is open for all ages, no one questions his existence and thinks he is just another average senior looking for a mission.

'Let's see….'

Ning Yue looks at the mission board, and it is still filled to the brim with missions.

'They're not a lot of hunting missions but a lot of labor incentive missions.'

Ning Yue felt surprised by what he saw.

Last time he didn't have enough time to examine it thoroughly because his master had already picked a mission for him, but after he took a look, there were not a lot of fighting missions to be done.

"Uh, can I ask some questions?"

He walked up to the male receptionist.

"Oh, sure! What do you want to know? Do you want to know the extended warranty of your sword?"

"No. I want to know why there aren't a lot of hunting missions, aren't cultivators supposed to be fighters?"

"Simple, there are not a lot of profound beasts to hunt. We have like 15-ish sects or clans in the city, most of the valuable beasts already dead, so only a few left to hunt, and only a select few appear on our mission board."

Beasts are resources for Cultivators, not a danger. After many years, the dangerous jungle has been invaded by cultivators so many times that all the beast is hard to see. Only on a rare occasion will they wander off the inner sector of the jungle near the city.

"Ok… Then I want to accept all hunting missions, but hypothetically speaking, what if I find wild beasts and hunt them down? Is there a way I can profit from it, or do I need to find a doctor to make pills personally?"

Even though he has a doctor as a senior, bothering her always doesn't sound very good to him.

"You can just sell it."

"Where?"

"Here. Or you can bring it to a trading center operated by our sect, but I recommend coming here, so you don't have to worry about paperwork and merchant shenanigans."

"But I do like merchant shenanigans."

The second thing Ning Yue liked after cultivation was trading.

When he lives with his father, someone has to take the accounting job, and his father lacks the skills severely.

Before his mother died, it was her job to do taxes and make a deal, but after she died, their father went broke and had to hunt for food every day because he had no money to feed the family.

So, after growing up and helping his father with the farming business, he decided to take up his mother's old job and start learning about economics and finance.

It is always in the back of his head that he will start a business if he doesn't become a cultivator.

"Well, you do you! Happy hunting."

After talking with the receptionist, Ning Yue went to his senior.

"You back, getting hurt again, I presume?"

"No! Senior, can I borrow or buy some emergency medicine, like those bandages?"

"Oh, sure. I got plenty to spare. This water here is to clean the wound; use it before the bandage; this is tight to the wound and sticks if your bone cracks. Here you go."

Xiaoli quickly put everything in the bag and gave it to Ning Yue.

"How much does it cost?"

"Think of it as a complimentary gift from your senior. I don't know the cost, so don't ask."

Xiaoli already makes BANK as a doctor in the most prominent sect in the city; she can spend a few coins to ensure her lovely junior is safe.

"Master must be proud if he heard this; keep up the good grind."

She turned back to hide her sad smile; she felt so proud that her junior was a careful person and prepared before going on his journey, unlike her.

"Thank you, senior. See you later!"

Ning Yue kowtowed to his senior and headed straight to the North-west Forest.
