Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Burn

Sammy hummed cheerfully as she chopped up some mushrooms and kale for her casserole.

"You are glowing!" Ricardo said, regarding her questioningly. Sammy felt her face redden. Was this why people always said all grumpy people needed was a bit of loving? Well, she had every reason to be cheerful. She had experienced the best morning ever.

"Well, it is a Friday. I am just so happy."

"Nelly told me you got the accommodation thing sorted out." Sammy's heart dropped. She had begged Nelly not to mention anything about the penthouse living situation.

"Oh..." she replied.

"Did you talk to your landlord and arrange for you to stay until you were sorted financially?" Ricardo asked. Sammy let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding.

"Yes. I am sorry for not letting you know. I actually got somewhere else to stay for a short time until I am back on my feet. Thank you for the willingness you showed to assist when I needed help."
