Chapter 4: Sky monkeys
Arriving in the town Henry was fascinated by the designs of the buildings which were vastly different from the ones in the territory he grew up in. It looked like the theme was old school Japanese
It was currently night time so there weren't people around, except for the occasional guards who were wearing old samurai looking armor. He could vaguely tell the gender of them but he couldn't be sure because he couldn't see their faces.
"Looks like Kento is an important figure here" Henry thought as the guards would bow when they passed them.
They made their way to the castle and kento called for someone to take Henry to a room to call his own. Henry couldn't do anything so he just went with the flow.
"*Sigh* It won't help thinking about it" After wrecking his brain about the events of the day and what may come in the future, Henry finally decided to sleep which wasn't that hard as the bed was comfortable and he was tired, and fatigue embraced him.
.....
*Knock* *knock* *Knock*
"Young master please wake up your going to be late for breakfast" Henry slowly woke up as he heard a female voice.
*Knock*
"Young master" the voice came through the door.
"Yes I'll be there" Henry shouted back as he frantically got up. "What sorcery is this" Henry was finding it difficult to get out of bed, manly cause it was quite comfortable and a huge improvement from the ground. Come to think of it he realized that he had passed out way to fast.
He found the bathroom and quickly washed up and changed into new clothes. He got out of his room and found a girl wearing a maids outfit just outside his room and followed after her. The girl looked to be slightly younger than him.
He was impressed by the interior of the castle, yesterday he didn't pay attention to the interior of the castle but now he did.
After following the girl for a while, he started to hear the sound of chatter and laughter. He deduced that it was the family of the castle and he got nervous but he didn't show it. The lady opened the door and gestured for him to enter.
"You don't have to worry they only bite new people on fridays only" The lady seeing Henry hesitate spoke out with a smile
"But it is friday" Henry got confused for a sec which in turn calmed him.
"Thanks" Henry said as he entered through the door.
Entering his view was a long dinner table filled with people who seemed to be enjoying each other's company while eating breakfast, he saw two familiar faces and that was Uncle hue and Uncle kento. Kento was sitting at the head of the table and spoke to an elderly man beside him and on his right side was Uncle Hue who was also enjoying himself, the people around uncle Hue seemed familiar with him.
"... H.." Henry froze and didn't know what to say. His palms got sweaty, knees weak and his arms got heavy, he was nervous. "Should I just take a seat but that would be rude and awkward, what if I just call out but than what do I say, also why is this so stressful." Reality finally confronted Henry about his social stats, them being practically zero.
*Bam*
Henry was startled as he looked besides him. The maid had just closed the door very loudly and stood besides him at a distance.
The maid he came with looked at him with a look that said "What would you do without me, to which Henry just smiled back.
The whole room got quite as everyone gazed at the two people. Henry looked back at the people staring back at him.
"Who is that" A little girl who looked around the age of five asked aloud after a while.
"Hi I'm Henry what's your name" Henry glanced at his two uncle but seeing them not helping him, he turned to the little girl and answered her. For some reason his heart was palpatating and his stomach seemed to twist as if it was a blanket being clenched.
"I'm Cloe" the little girl first hesitate but then replied with a smile.
"That's a nice name, little sister Cloe do you know where I am, I seem to be lost" Henry replied, he had a calm smile even though he was nervous, he didn't feel conformable with so many eyes on him.
"Big brother Henry this is my families house, how can you be lost, I think your lying?" Chloe frowned a little, although she was still young she was quite smart.
"No... How could I. All I remember is that I was flying high up in the sky... " Henry narrated a story to the girl but got inturrupted.
"Big brother can fly? Can you take me flying as well? I've always wanted to fly as well" Chloe's face light up as her eye's sparkled.
"Of course I can fly and I'll take you when you grow up. I promise" Henry responded nervously as she asked him to promise.
"And than what happened big brother, I got hit in the head and passed out" Henry decided to end the story quick before he dug himself a grave.
"Was it the flying fish bones, it must be them right?" The girl asked. For some reason Henry couldn't resist her cuteness, her smile touched his heart. When he looked at her, he saw some angel wings and a halo on her head.
"I think it was them, do you know about them too" Seeing the girls face Henry was forced to agree. "What fairy tales are they telling her" Henry wondered as the whole notion sounded weird.
While in thought he didn't realise the weird faces everyone around him was making.
"Hmm, my mother told me that they come for bad people who lie and trick children." Henry got momenterly confused hearing the girls responds.
*Cough*
A few people around the table giggled. A smile appeared on the maid's face but it quickly disappeared. She had moved to the side of the room where other maids and butlers stood.
"Henry come on up" seeing the mood change Kento spoke up, gathering everyone's attention.
Henry smiled and walked up to kento at the end of the table.
"Everyone this is Henry, Hue's nephew. From today onward his gonna be living with us so please treat him as if he were family because he's going to be soon" Henry nervously smiled but got slightly confused by kento's last words.
Henry went and sat down and enjoyed breakfast. He enjoyed the atmosphere around the table, he listened to the conversations although he wasn't involved he enjoyed it.
"Grandpa what did you mean earlier when you said Henry might soon be part of the family" towards the end of breakfast a middle aged woman with snow white hair asked after a few moments of hesitation. She didn't mind Henry living with them as they were all familiar with Hue and treated him like family but she felt like her Grandpa's words had other meanings
"I'm going to be announcing it during the family meeting with the elders so wait until tomorrow"
"!!!"
