In each house there are multiple families, and they are all of similar blood but there are rankings among these families, the family the patriarch or matriarch hail from possess the highest ranking in the house. If the current matriarch or patriarch is recognized for their wisdom, knowledge and or strategies then the family with the strongest person in the house is the second in the rankings and vice versa, almost all houses are democratic, the only houses which don't follow this are the main 4 houses, house of blood and finally mine, the house of space.
The reason why the said houses do so is, for the main 4, multiple factors like size and authority but its mainly purity only the family of the direct descendants of the founder can compete for patriarch or matriarch positions, and due to them being famous such knowledge is known to all. As for blood, mainly purity, since info on houses is basically sealed behind gates, I don't know the other reasons but for the house of space, we all in the house of space love being free and lazy.
We're not actually lazy, well not completely but we very much are, what I mean is that we make and do things to make our lives more convenient and simpler but don't use all of the inventions onwards, we are a house od inventors, researchers, and very curious cats, we also have a lot of cats roaming the house. Another factor is mental ability, the space our house is in is actually a created dimension. There is a difference between a different space and a dimension. The dimension is created and held by out patriarch, doing this shows us the power of the one in charge, the amount of mana needed to create something so huge, to maintain is and prevent it from collapsing, protecting it from spatial beasts, entertaining the exiting and entering of members and many more isn't easy though it's possible it's a very difficult task and that's what the patriarch dose constantly and also our way of deciding who the next shall be but that may change if he dies because although we are free and lazy, if our leader is stupid and incompetent we won't hesitate to kill he/her it has happened a total of 4 times in our history.
That girl up there is the granddaughter of the patriarch but she is practically his real daughter at this point, she was labeled the strongest and the one with the most potential in my house, well that was until I nearly killed her for harassing me, she was a prideful back then, the only reason she lived was because that old man saved her and naturally he was about to kill me to but I survived, although with very serious damage. The fight wasn't long but intense, I had zero experience in fighting so I couldn't hold back and even though I was young I was able to pull off some complex techniques and spells due to my output and because I studied and copied those around me during fights. Because of my absurdly high output and my zero control with it coupled with the fact that I could do some complex things, the destruction cause was a lot.
Intrigued the old geezer ask who my parents were and also measured my mana proficiency and output. Since my output couldn't be measured he was greatly surprised and happy he didn't kill me he then asked my parents why I had been kept secret, the just laughed and told him "What he does is none of our business unless he kills someone" when I said we are all lazy we really are. Yeah it was a whole saga for the entire house for sometime when they found out about me, Rina wasn't really forgotten in any way, I don't know what happened to her but she lost all her pride, well only towards me she still is to some but she is better that before, we didn't really become friends either, mainly because I wasn't will to with someone who pissed me off and is supposed to be dead but we still talk though she still tries to be friends with me, I never push her away because she is somewhat similar to me so I accept her in a higher degree than I do others.
Noticing my stare towards her she smiled and waved at me enthusiastically and I soon heard her voice like she was talking directly into my ear "At least now I have someone to disturb now, HA!". We space users can also travel through only one pathway to reach someone's ears it can also go to the extent of teleporting the sound, smiling back at her I said isolating my sound only for her to hear "Probably tomorrow, miss 'I forgot I can't disturb mono'" she heard me, and her face flushed red then she faked anger ad begun ranting for me, blocking all sound from entering my ears I looked back at the students who finally got their bearings back.
For the next twenty minutes the continued assaulting me with all kinds of tactics, but I kept on dodging, parrying, and deflecting each one but they grew more adept to me, so their fighting improved to the point earth users begun physically assaulting me, and because of that I got somewhat more careful and serious with how I handle their attacks, since the condition was them to land a single hit on my I had to be very careful, the lighting users became faster due to them increasing their charges while the fire users intensified their flames more, the nature users were becoming more efficient with the bindings improving their timing while the water and ice users also joined in more fiercely and that one air users I sealed in the sky was still yelling at me their overall coordination improved with the red and blue head taking charge though another plant user joined in the command and when she did everything they did became smother, she had brown hair and golden eyes, average proportions and a very authoritative voice.
But despite all the improvements they all still weren't able to scathe me, I didn't try to eliminate any more because these ones were useful and had brain cells so there was no use. "Five minutes left guys!." I shouted to inform them on their remaining time, now this was my purpose is reveled. Although I have no intention on eliminating more I want to see how well they do under pressure, even though they out number me 3000 to 1 they weren't able to touch me, this should install the fear of inevitable failure in their minds and since the school already has students whom some belong to houses and others are privileged, they can't think that they will be accepted if they all fail. Most of the spectators were still in shock on how someone like me can do such even though I'm surrounded by so many elementals, after all not all can do such, the mana and meant as well as physical stamina are all factors deciding this, but a lot were worried after all their children might just fail.
Becoming more desperate the students begun faltering, well exhaustion was probably part of it to. Their coordination became distorted and rubbish, this halted progress but just as it was about to get worse the 'team leaders' shouted, the red head went first "We will not fail!, I refuse to fall here and end my journey that just started!, even if I break my bones I know there are heals who will help me!, We are different from those privileged spoiled brats, we put in effort by ourselves and achieve results. My fellow commoners, shall you fall? or shall we walk together?" all went silent during her speech and stopped attacking while I just stood there, happy for them to have such a leader 'I like her, she understands human struggles, I should try to have her as an ally' the silence prevailed for like 4 seconds till a thunderous "NO!!" was heard 'bruh, chill, we can hear you!' I scram in my head while coving my ears.
Then the blue head went next although he didn't shout, he spoke like he was talking to people he knew for years at the start, but he got louder as he went on "Although I don't know any of you, I would like to once we go to Ignatius together. there will be hard times ahead of us and definitely some annoyances to I still want to go through them." He glared at me like I killed his family and continued "He is nothing but what we will all achieve one day, the strength he possesses is what we all want, correct?" the kids shouted together again but I closed my ears this time "YES!" "if we can't defeat that we desire then who are we to take it? Fight and prove that that strength is something you can achieve!!" the students did a battle cry this time, blue head walked in front of them as the leader, red head followed and stood right beside him then.....brown head? I guess? I don't' know their names. They all looked at me like I was meat then brown head shouted, "forget trying to reserve your mana it's our final attack!"
Following orders, water users begun by creating a giant water snake that coiled and slithered in the air it spanned half the arena, that spanned 150 meters in diameter, then all the lightning users lost all the lightning coting their bodies, they then begun charging up the snake, electrifying it. The ice users created several thousands of icicles below the snake aiming downwards at me, the fire users created several flame lances surrounding me in a circle. Since the earth users were literally preventing all the students from dying from heights as well as constantly providing them with platforms they didn't have much mana left so they instead used all their remaining mana to raise the platform they were all standing on so as not to receive damage. Preparing all thin took five minutes and wow was it huge and intense, I smiled at them while the looked at me with anger, with a roar the students sent the flame lances at me first, since I was surrounded by them movement was impossible but I didn't move, once the lances struck they kicked up a lot of dust and flames, the fire users kept on reforming each lance after another and the plant users wrapped vines and grew trees so that the fire would consume me, both groups did this until their mana ran out.
Immediately after, the ice users begun to rain down their icicles on me the temperature of the surroundings changed very rapidly. The spectators were cheering and screaming at the sight of this, even though they could do it better and stronger, faster, and much more efficiently, they were proud to see the children do this at their age be able to do this. My location was basically coved in dust and ice, and finally the kid's final attack, the serpent slithered higher and came crushing down towards me with a high velocity, the crowd cheered even louder than before when they saw this, when the serpent hit the ground it sent the entire arena shaking with the impact alone, then, thousands of lighting bolts begun raining down on my, the sound of a thousand lightning bolts echoed throughout the arena.
After the final strike all the children fell to the ground exhausted, but they kept their eyes on where they had all struck with their breaths held, they waited for the dust to settle, the spectators went silent, some prayed for their children while some just stared at the dust. Not long after the dust begun spinning in a spiral raising to a specific point above me that seemingly absorbed the dust once it made contact, the children looked intensely at my figure as they waited for the dust to clear. Once it did all the children and spectators faces changed to that of disappointment, I was clean with one arm behind my back while the other was raised above my head there was no damage on me, the children sighed, the red head slowly stood up but failed a few times "At least we tried guys, I was good fighting alongside you all."
With that she walked away, the rest of the students sighed, smiled at each other then rose and begun to leave. But before they could go any further, a bunch of vines and trees sprouted from the center of the arena on shape of a cocoon, they then opened up like a flower and the figure of Alyona was seen inside of it, all the students turned around to look at her as did everyone else. She smiled as she looked at the children and said, "Mono how many minutes are left" bored I responded, "1 minute" all the students looked confused, Alyona then looked at me and said" Stop wasting everyone's time child."
I looked at the children and they all looked at us, seriously confused, I then smiled at them and slowly raised the arm I kept behind my back above my head and said "Congratulations, you stuck me a total of 3 times during those attacks, so you all pass." My hand was seriously damaged with an icicle straight through my hand, the rest of it was burnt and charred only till my elbow though, looking at the severe damage done to my hand no one could say it was a graze, I then continued as I pulled out the icicle "Although the attack was worked it needs work, the snake was disproportional the lightning didn't fully pass through the entire thing yet it was more than enough to do so." Stopping there I threw the icicle away as looked at Alyona "Happy? It would have been better if you waited longer."
The looks on the children's faces was that of complete shock, after a few moments both them and the crowd begun cheering again hugging, laughing, and crying. While they were enjoying themselves Alyona walked up to me and slowly healed my arm "why take so much damage?" with a shrug I replied "to make sure those bastards up their know its genuine" as I pointed to the highest part of the stands. With a pat on my shoulder Alyona sighed and said "A bit much just to prove a point."
