Chapter 31: 28 Change the things that gives you heartaches and regret
Jun Ching's eyes widen while his hands are tightly gripping the blanket. He look at the doctor in disbelief. His body started to tremble and his mind goes blank- still cannot believe what he just heard. Solidified- his mouth forcefully open- stuttering. Words cannot compares with his sensibility that is now filled with aghast. " W-what d-do you mean? I... I don't know what your talking about"
Somehow, when in terms of supernatural tendencies like rebirth, it is still an unbelievable accuracies in which lost a long time ago. Jun Ching was drown in a cold sweat like pouring a bucket of ice directly to him. Asking question out of the blue regarding his rebirth- will he remain focused? Unstained his most hidden secret and unfolding clandestine without yielding an appropriate answer? Who are you fooling?
Anyhow, no one except himself and that person that granted him a second life knows his rebirth. The outside world cannot possibly be known to such things.
Jun Ching had never expected that he will face someone who knows about rebirth. A blessing in disguise? No, probably not. The way the quack doctor look at him like someone with an x-ray eyes that can clearly saw everything hidden beneath your soul. Like he can see through everything with no room of doubts- but still Jun Ching persistently denied " How- How can there be such thing? Pe- perhaps you might be mistaken. I didn't go rebirth"
The quack doctor didn't react. Only by observing Jun Ching he knows that he won't confess easily. Being reborn is not a simple thing. It holds more than what it seems.
The quack doctor put his hand around his back, playing circles with his golden totem ring in his index finger- craved with a diagonal formed shape of crimson ruby in the center. As his eyes lock- calmly eyeing the bulging stomach, he somewhat felt heavy. This is way out of hand. He even catches a small black triplet mole form of a triangle in his collar bone that Jun Ching never noticed. One of it is almost fading away while the other remains the same. Standing there he said " That's right. There's no such thing as rebirth this days. Even you know, only a smaller group of people remains a real worshipers of GOD. But for you- it's different. I know you are only trying to hide away the information of your rebirth and I understand that, but Young man, a living being who's been born again along with his past memories are considered lucky but did you know, this luck will bring you catastrophe. Once life is taken, it should stay where it should be, once life is forcefully given back you have to carry a heavy amount of compensation.The amount of compensation is something you valued more than yourself. It may vary depending on how you treasure things. For you to have gone rebirth may some sort of blessing- you can change things that happened to you in the past. Change the things that gives you heartaches and regret. Change the things you think should be change but you must never let yourself indulge in this merit. Perhaps now, you enjoy the second life given to you. But I must remind you, carrying favor are not always in a good way. There are things that even the best talisman cannot comprehend. I am not scaring you, my only concern is that the lives you carry inside your body must be protected well or that life of the man with you. By now, that entity is reaching out your door, they will mostly ready to get your charge. No time can tell when. No place can tell where and no reason can tell how. No one can stop it. I am telling you, in time where they get you back, it will be the most painful way. More painful than you could imagine. Despite this, it will only be you, yourself to blame"
As the quack doctor continue his speech, and Jun Ching closing his lips silently, trying to sink the quack doctor's words bit by bit- informing himself that is not true- the totem ring emits a faint red light and change it's form. It is too dim that it is impossible to see but the quack doctor can still identify whether the totem ring is reacting despite being played in the back.
He rolled his eyes to the side where he could glimpse his totem ring. Indeed, it glows. Though, he doesn't know why but he knows that it is not a good sign. There are three sign and markings in which this totem ring ignite once it triggered. One is when it glows cerulean and the diagonal shape will change into a sun. By this, it's means luck and blessings- good sign. Second is when it glows purple and the it's shape will form a spear- means one is cursed caused by jealousy and discontentment- bad luck and misfortune. Third is when it glows red and it's shape from is a skull which correspond to entities, ghost and other form of being in which hold an enormous amount of evil energy. This one is the most dangerous creatures. It can actually posses any living or nonliving things, create hallucinations, and phantom. But in Jun Ching's case, this entity is rather in high position. While it is still classified as entity, it's power are more aggressive and monstrous. More specifically, they are paralleled to GOD. They can turn back the time and space. Manipulate the surrounding and situation. Can cause disaster with just a single flick of their hand. Or worst can take your life in an instant. But this entities have one rule- depending on what a recipient wish would they form a contract. A contract that no one can break.
The quack doctor asked a question again but this time his gently voice are placed with fret expression as he stop playing his totem ring but instead covering it with his palm, He asked "Young man, have you seen it's face? What does it looks like? If you tell me, I might be able to save you or your family from this calamity. Trust me that I will not tell anyone but myself about this matter"
Jun Ching's complexion becomes rigid. To begin with, it's not that he actually saw that person but rather he only saw half of it's face concealed. And the fact that he only met it once and it's in his dream, he cannot confirm wether it's a human or not. In addition, he only agreed to it's arrangements caused by his wrong choices and regrets that he wanted to live again in this life. Furthermore, a gift like this cannot possibly be rejected just because it's uncommon or supernatural. Thus, who is in there right mind not to accept this temptation. A rare change of rebirth is definitely once in a lifetime experience. Inclusion, Jun Ching believe that it is a God who save him from his suffering and took pity on him that he was given this chance. Why would he decline?
Jun Ching signed. He is perfectly sure that if he reveal this secret, his life will be filled with fear. And besides, why would he believes this doctor? It doesn't make sense. Aside that he guessed the babies in his stomach correct, it can be considered as a coincidental circumstances. Everyone can tell that he have two since his stomach is unusually big. Though, at first he didn't find it out because in his past life, he only conceived one. No one ever thought that this Li Yang bastard could actually hit two points in a single night.
Wait, speaking of which, he vague seem to hear Li Yang's voice in his dream calling him out. Was it an illusion? Or maybe, he is guilty for hiding his condition until this time that his conscience are contradicting his body. No, cannot be. He promised to himself that he will not let that bastard know about his children's existence nor even met him. He promised to live a life without him so he must stop thinking of him.
Jun Ching never responded. He even bites his lower lips only to sealed his mouth from opening. If he wanted to confess, he must confess firstly to Fu King and not to this weirdly old doctor asking about his rebirth. And it will not change even if this doctor force him or not.
