Chapter 2: You're Unusual

Katelyn's POV

OH CRAP! OH CRAP! I'M GONNA DIE I'M GONNA DIE! More mechanical wolves, life-size this time, were trying to attack me. All I could do was climb. Suddenly, I heard a voice. "Shut down." Is...is it him again? Yes! It is! Hello? I tried not to look scared, as the person walked towards me. Uh, um, "You're quite strange." "And how is that," he asks. "Well it's not Halloween and you're--"

"They're not pretend wolf ears."

"Yes they are."

"They're not. They're real wolf ears."

"Right." 😒

"Listen, Kitty, I'm a werewolf."

"You're funny."

"Clearly you are not one to believe in the legends, hm?"

"Legends are unusual."

The man turned and growled, then looked back up at me. "First of all, legends are supposed to be unusual! Second of all, do you know what I find unusual, no offense, is that you are the first one who was practically STUPID enough to follow me here!" I rolled my eyes. Honestly I could have ignored that. "So," I asked in a sassy tone. I swear I could almost laugh at that mad face. "Are you from around here," the man asked. "Well, I was born here, but I left when I was nineteen, but then things got bad--"

"I didn't ask for your life story, Kitty," he muttered. Oh, he's walking away. I jumped down from the pole and continued to follow.

Why does he have on that black hoodie? It's not that cold. I decided to catch up. When I did, I yanked off his hood and he look at me with glowing red eyes. But wait, shouldn't those ears have tilted back? They stayed in place. And the only movement was a simple twitch. I couldn't believe my eyes! "Do not touch my hood." he growled. I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Believe me now? Am I still pretending," he asked, still growling. I wanted to run, but I also wanted to know more about him. He had dark red eyes, he had dark brown hair with his tail and ears matching the color. "Don't follow me this time," he murmured. Yeah, um, no. I'm not sorry, sir. But I'm too curious. Really, if my friend Anna were here, she would drag me away. But she's not here...any-more.

I shake away the thought. No sadness. So, to follow or not to follow. That is the question. "What am I sayin? I ain't Shakespeare! My sister would kill me if I talked Shakespeare in front of her! And then my mom would try to kill her for trying to kill me, and then dad would get very mad because we are going at each other's throats! And then..."

Jason's POV

Very interesting story, Kitty. Is it a story? She just keeps talking. I'm pretty sure she doesn't realize that. But she will. She should. She has to. I will go crazy if she doesn't. Actually... "Listen, I need you to stop talking, okay?" And just then, she got quiet. Who's laughing now, Kitty? I sighed and rolled my eyes, then continued my walk home. Running footsteps. Hers? Most likely. I turn to the side. It is her. Grr. Wait, I can run from her! No mere mortal can out run the great speed of the werewolf!

I dashed forward, only to fall flat on my face before running a mile. My ears dropped. I am a disgrace to my ancestors. And there she is, again. "Do you need help," she asks. I turn away. "No. Go away." She knelt down beside me, then said, "Show me you can get up and walk by yourself. Then I'll believe you." Psht, that's easy...

Harder....than I thought. Getting up was easy. But staying up was quite complicated.

"Of all the bad days...this is the baddest day yet, NO THANKS TO YOU," I barked. The stubborn lady gave me her hand. "You're quite welcome. Now come on, let me help you." Help. I don't want help. I don't NEED help! "Fine," I growled. I've been growling all day. But hey, I'm a wolf. It's what I do. I took her hand and she helped me up. She was surprisingly patient. Does she deal with this same crap every day? I showed her the way home. Well, told her anyway.

Katelyn's POV

I kept my mouth shut. I'm a ticklish person, and with his tail fur touching the back of my leg, it just feels uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure he already knows I feel uncomfortable though, because he's a werewolf. But he'll never know why. Hopefully.
