Chapter 77: Expedition gone wrong
A few hours before Alice and Alex had received information on the Seal being broken, the students of My Caster Academia minus the First Years were going to have their annual trip to Kurolixx Island. This was because there was so much history there, with it being the first place where the Demons had originally come from. It also had a lot of monuments that were still there as well as Potion Ingredients in the form of flowers, rare fruits as well as Drachs so it would be beneficial as well.
Because Kurolixx was an island, they would be taking a ship.
"Stay in line, nowhere stray from the group." Nex informed as he and the other Teachers watched the students as they came off the bus.
The Bus had stopped in front of the Portal Station of Solike City and the students moved in a single line into the building.
"Oh, this is gonna be so much fun." Ayato smiled as he turned to Kuro and Yuri. Kuro smiled back perfectly while Yuri just managed a smile. He wasn't really all that thrilled about the expedition like the others.
"Can you believe we're going on this trip? We have a chance that most people don't get. You could at least look more excited." Ayato requested and Yuri gave him a thumbs up with a bitter look.
But then something occured to him. "That Island is the original home of the Demons, maybe I could get some answers about what I am. How I came to be. Nah, probably not. Things are never that easy." Yuri thought.
Meanwhile, Luz was holding onto Serena and Arina's arm tight. It wasn't out of fear but she was being protective. She didn't want them to get seperated again like during the war, it was too much for her to handle and although the chances of it happening on this expedition were next to none, she wasn't going to take any risks.
"Ouch. That's starting to hurt, Luz." Serena complained. "Oh, sorry." Luz let go slightly.
"Oh, I hate that." They had just passed through the portal and like always, it left her with a nauseating feeling as if she was going to throw up.
"Whoa! Yuri, what's up with you? Are you feeling okay? Should I tell one of the teachers?" Kuro asked, concerned about his friend who looked like he was going to throw up.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just don't talk. You're making it worse."
Eventually, the effect wore off eventually and after moving through about 4 more Portal Stations, they finally arrived at the shore.
But instead of a single ship being there, there were three more. One baring a pink flower symbol on its body, the other having a blue cloud and the last one being chains.
The Teachers all looked confused upon seeing.
Eventually, Ririka, Takino and Alex strolled out of the ships and were emitting a presence that felt that three powerful people were in the same place.
After talking with the teachers for a little bit, the three Leaders moved back into their ships and the Teachers announced that the Yuzuro, Spair and Krueger Family were all going to be escorting them to Kurolixx Island.
They all got aboard the same ship as they moved on the sea.
"This is gonna be so fun." Vanessa and Luz smiled and giggled to themselves. "Hey, guys." Vanessa called to Arina and Yuri's main friend squad as well as the rest of their class mates. "Let's play a game of Cuckoo!" Vanessa pulled out a deck of cards from her Compartment Bag.
"I don't know how to play." "Me neither." "I don't wanna play." Staria answered last but Akina nudged her in a friendly way. "Fine, I'll play."
"Perfect!" Luz and Vanessa grinned in a way that scared Arina, Yuri and their friends since they were the ones that knew how good Luz and Vanessa were and how crazy their competitions could get.
'The others don't stand a chance.' They thought.
After a steaming, emotion wrecking game. The ultimate winner of the game was completely unexpected.
Both Luz and Vanessa had lost and they were both standing in the corner, probably rethinking their reasons for living.
"I won?" They remembered Kuro saying so as he was the victor which was completely unexpected even by him.
While Yuri was on his own, he felt a glance coming towards Kuro who was next to him and turned around but saw no one.
Meanwhile, Serena was dragging Roger by the ear into the indoors of the ship.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! You can stop now." Roger pouted as he rubbed his ear which the Mech Caster had let go of.
"You wanna get your arm cut off again? If Yuri saw you, he wouldn't hesitate." Serena warned the Wind Caster, knowing fully well what her classmate was capable of.
"Okay, okay. I guess I won't be staring at my Snow-haired cutie." Roger said, with a silly grin playing on his face.
"Oh, I didn't say you couldn't do that. Just.. be careful okay." Serena sounded like she was annoyed but a silly smile crept up my face.
Roger smiled back.
"Okay, guys. Let's have a..." "You're done sulking." Zake commented and the rest of them laughed at Vanessa and Luz who were offput by that comment but they continued anyway.
"Let's have a rematch. This time, let's make bigger bets." Vanessa offered and the class nodded. All of them had Hunter Licenses so they had money on their, not to talk of the fact that
The Four Ships moved across the sea and stayed in a close distance with each other.
Takino, Ririka and Alex, the three leaders stood atop the ship, ready to react against any attack. They didn't just come here on a whim after all, they were going to investigate whether the Demons were really back.
Takino looked at Ririka and blushed, her hair was now a more bluish than green color and it was blowing in the wind. He was obviously infatuated with her.
'It shouldn't be long before we get there.' Alex thought before turning to look at Takino and noticed what he was doing.
"That fool! He should just tell her already." Since their parents were relatively close, Alex had grown up with them and noticed Takino's admiration for her since they were teenagers.
"Whoa!" The Students on the ship were tripped off balance as the ship was shaking and it wasn't from water currents.
A large black ball had been shot out at the Yuzuro ship which Ririka had been too slow to stop. After that, several more came at all four ships.
"Cloud Casting: Fog God's Shield." a barrier made of clouds surrounded the ships but most of the large black balls had broken through and began to break off more and more of the ships.
'What are they made of? These things are tough." The three leaders thought.
"Everyone, we're sinking." Before Ririka could finish talking, all three ships had been tipped over the sea and everyone on board fell into it. They were a few meters away from the island as well.
While on the Island, a small city that had been cloaked had been quickly constructed by the Demons. King Duron looked in the direction of the ships and saw the four ships approaching. He zeroed in on a particular ship as he stared at the leader.
"Perfect! I'll be able to take my revenge from him." He gazed at Alex Krueger in a menacing way.
Eventually, someone woke up and found themself on the island by himself.
"Ahh! My head. What happened?" Yuri thought as he woke up on the sand of the Island. As he walked forward, his eyes glowed orange but the hue became darker as he walked deeper into the Island.
