Chapter 8: 8. A Weirdo and a Kid.
Beach.
Seaside.
Coast.
Waterfront.
Between 'Sea and Land'...Sand.
This is where I am right now. The coast of Wano. I'm standin here with an old man who just yelled something about food and boiling.
'A Weirdo and a Kid' standing in front of the sea, having some kind of stare-down, on the beach.
Just how did it get to this point??
*Flashback last two days*
"The marks will probably stay there for a few days, it'll disappear soon so don't worry. Plus remember son. These aren't just finger marks. They're battle scars! You faced off against the former Lord's retainer and got out with just a sprained wrist. BE PROUD YAMI," yelled the dumbass called dad.
Me and Kenji just got back from the market place after the whole incident with mom's berserk murderous intent. I'm just glad I didn't throw up the breakfast I had this morning. That ramen was almost tastier than the food Charmy cooked.
If I had to rate it out of 10, it'd definitely be an 11. Though I prefer cigarettes more.
Dad had bandaged my hand that was now a gross looking shade of blue. Seriously though, why're they making such a big fuss about one bruised hand?? I'm pretty sure I've tanked meteors falling on me...or was that just SisGoleon's fist?
In any case, Kenji who looked visibly shaken earlier, seemed to have calmed down. Good job kid, whinin is hella annoying.
He looked a bit more refreshed than before, so I'm guessing he either forgot about the birds and bees talk, or he just took a dump when the dumbass was patching me up.
"BE PROUD YAMI! You too Ken! You escaped after seeing a pissed off Mirai. That's more of an achievement than finding the one piece," he said looking away with a stiff smile, as if he was having an internal struggle.
The dumbass definitely had the crap beaten out of him before cuz when he mentioned 'pissed off Mirai', his ki went to buy a cigarette and never came back.
Not complaining though. The dumbass probably started something. I mean it's always the unsuspecting dumbasses at the center of all the bullshit.
This family is more like a cool and badass and super handsome and selfless captain, a cool woman, a smirking Asta, and a finance minister Asta.
I see nothing wrong here.
A few hours passed just roaming around in the house, and then I went for a nap. It's evening now. Mom came back a while ago and started apologising the moment she saw me and Ken. She was keeping her distance from us, so I guess she's still worried she'll do something she'll regret.
Can't really blame her though. If I injured Karasawa Balmung Fezalion by some chance, I'd probably feel like shit too... Nah who cares.
I've got nothing against her, she had her reasons for being so pissed off. I gave her my forgiveness in the form of a badass thumbs up. I must've looked totally cool as I did that cuz I could see the smile returning to her face.
Kenji was now hugging her, and pops brought us some snacks. Then started a family meeting, cuz Kenji asked who that naked man was and why mom seemed like she wanted to end the universe.
Kozuki Oden.
From what I'd heard, Oden was a very 'majestic creature of incredible power, with 9 brave warriors behind him'. There goes any hope of me believing in shoguns.
But the more I heard, the more I began to take back what I had concluded. Turns out, mom was out until evening cuz she had gone to meet Oden.
And...Orochi was pulling the strings. That rat bastard, why's his ugly ass involved in every thing that goes wrong in this world???
Turns out Oden had sacrificed his pride for the sake of the citizens. He had attacked Orochi's lair, but got in a clash with a so-called 'Kaido'. This guy's supposed to be a big shot pirate.
Wait. Something's wrong. I can feel it.
Pirate?
The hell?
Like. An actual pirate? What? Too many questions. I'll leave them to Answer Yami.
In any case... Well... Another shocker. This Kaido guy's a dragon. Cool. I need to see that guy someday.
Back to Oden. He was tricked by Orochi, to go dance naked in the streets of Wano and the oppressive rule would stop. Is Oden dumber than Asta? Dancing naked on the streets isn't gonna help anything, people are just gonna lose their trust in him and follow Orochi.
And I'm definitely gonna crush that snake's head when my hands are bigger. He's too irritating on this never ending Saturday.
I asked where Oden was for so long, and mom said he went with Sir Roger, to become a pirate and find the one piece.
Again with the pirates thing. Is that an actual job here? Who's this Roger guy? And I'm pretty sure I've heard this one piece thing before.
Ugh. So many questions, so little answers. I'll leave these for Curious Yami to investigate.
Meanwhile I'll take a nap and waste some time. Dinner will be ready in a bit and I'm looking forward to that Katsudon.

It's morning right now.
I asked if I could go out. Dad had stars in his eyes and was mumbling about growing up and stuff.
Mom gave her consent and started with some rules.
"Don't associate with strangers. If some random person gives you candy, run away. Don't talk to animals(what?). Make sure to stay alert for dangers around you," and the list went on and on.
"And one last thing," she said. "Everything I've mentioned up to this point..." Yeah...?
"Ignore it".
...
...
...
Eh?
I'm guessing my surprise was visible, cuz she continued, "It's good to listen to people, but the obedient ones only get so~ far. So it's okay to do stupid things, especially since you're at the age where you start learning about the world. If I have something I really want you to abide by, I'll tell you, okay?
"Yea," I nodded.
She gave a small smile as dad came out of his monologues. They wished me luck and sent me off.
Now I was roaming around the streets of Wano, but my destination was set.
Pirates.
I'm going...to the sea.
