Chapter 20: Chapter 20
As much as I wanted to kill her for almost killing me, I want the Konoha crush to go as planned and she is important for keeping Gaara in check till it happens. Also, if I kill her, there are chances of the future changing a lot. This will come to bite me in the ass again.
I could hear Temari growling, but also shivering from fear of death. She is still a 14 year old kid like me. So I said "I want you to leave and keep this a secret. If you don't, there are going to be problems between your village and Konoha."
The last part managed to get to her and she slowly got up when she understood that I wouldn't kill her. I knew she wouldn't tell anyone because if the Konoha get to know about her, there would be more protection during the chunin exams and it will be a problem for them. Also, I heard Gunde mention about Gaara. If so, he definitely wouldn't allow Temari to report that Gaara failed a mission. I am also not worried about Gaara learning about this and coming here, as it would be risky. So, I am completely safe.
Akiko, who saw me spare Temari, shouted "Please don't let her go. Her brother is a monster and if he learns about this, we are all dead." to which I replied "Don't worry, she is from another village and if we kill her there will be trouble. On the other hand, if she decides to bring her brother, we can just ask Konoha for help. I don't think you would want that, do you?"
Temari nodded and she turned back to walk away, and I still wanted to humiliate her trying to kill me. So, I used all my strength and all the remaining haki, and spanked her ass hard. It created a huge clapping sound and the force even pushed her a little forward. It is easily going to leave a mark for at least a week.
She immediately turned back, with rage filled eyes and swung the closed fan with the other proper hand. It obviously lacked force or the grip. I easily stopped it with my palm and said "Do you really think I would let you go without punishment after trying to kill me? I am going to do this every time I meet you again on the battlefield."
I let go of the fan and Temari knew that she was no match for me now. She immediately left, with her rage clear in her eyes. When she reached a safe distance, she threw a kunai, which I knew even before she threw it. I caught it with my fingers to look cool. Temari then disappeared into the woods.
Akiko, who was now safe, immediately came running to me and burst into tears. "Thank you.....thank you....." she said many times while hugging me. Although I wanted to enjoy the hug, the tears and the snot didn't let me. She then lost consciousness and leaned her body against mine.
I carried her back to the warehouse and put her on her bed. I then looked around to see if there was anything to eat and all I found was water bottles and many cup ramen boxes. I guess she really likes cup ramen. I started boiling water and got two cups ready.
When the water was done boiling, I took the kettle and the two cup ramen to Akiko's room. She was still unconscious, so I made one for myself and when it was ready, I was about to dig in when Akiko's eyes opened and she said "I smell cup ramen."
She really reminded me of Naruto. I said "I made cup ramen. Want some?" and she didn't even reply. She took the one I made for myself and started slurping the noodles like her life depends on it.
While her mouth was full, she tried speaking "These ave ny fewd. Down't ...." I tapped on her head and said "Speak after you finish eating. I can't understand anything." she stopped to look at me for once before she continued eating. She finished the whole cup in under 3 minutes.
She drank the soup till the last drop and put down the empty cup. She then said "This is my food. Don't try offering it to me like it is yours. I will let you...*burp*....." the burp caused her to stop and cover her mouth. She was embarrassed and looked at me to see what I thought about her, but I just laughed it off. Seeing me laugh, she pouted and said "What's wrong with burping? I am also a human, who was hungry for a whole day." hitting me softly on my hand.
I then made myself a cup ramen and while it was cooking, Akiko asked "So, who are you and why did you save me?" to which I asked in return "How do you know that your father didn't send me?"
She smiled and said "I might look like a fool, but I know my father and he would never hire someone from the Uchiha clan. He hates them." I was surprised when I heard this. I asked "How do you know that I am from the Uchiha clan?"
"I don't know if you are seriously asking this or just joking, but I don't think there is someone who wouldn't recognise the sharingan." she replied. I immediately ran to the window and looked at my reflection in the glass. I still had my black eyes, but when I concentrated on my eyes they turned red with three tomoe floating around the pupil.
I couldn't believe this at all. I thought that I didn't have enough chakra, but now my eyes have awakened the sharingan, which requires a lot more chakra than usual. Someone like me, who produces very little chakra, shouldn't have the necessary chakra to awaken the sharingan. I need to talk to someone about this, but not now. I have more important things to do now.
I then went back to Akiko, who was now confused with my behaviour. I said to her "I didn't have sharingan before. I awakened them in battle." to which she said "Then I guess you should be thanking me for that."
I chuckled at her and she then asked "So, who are you and why are you here?" to which I explained the whole thing. I now need her to trust me if I want her to sponsor me cash and honesty is the best way. After she listened to the whole thing, she said "So, you also saved me for my money. Although it is disappointing, you are at least honest with it. I hate to tell you this, but you have to know that Gunde spent all the money I had to hire that small girl and her brother. So, I currently don't have any money to give you, but I can still give you the Carunium ore you need."
I was confused and Akiko noticed that and explained "Usually, all the Carunium ore deposits are found near gold deposits, but the reverse is not true. Since the licence for the gold mine is cheaper than Carunium ore, many don't registers the Carunium ore deposits. You can take all the Carunium you want and if you help me stabilise myself and provide the protection I need, I promise to give you a share in the profit I make."
I thought for a while and everything she asked was simple, except for her protection. I can't stay by her side all the time and she doesn't have money to hire people. I then asked her "Who is buying all the gold and the Carunium ore from you?" to which she replied "I don't know. Gunde usually took care of all these things."
I sighed, because this is slowly turning more troublesome and I was getting more and more pissed thinking of the situation. I shouted at her "You shouldn't just trust anyone. It is your business and your lazy ass doesn't know anything about it. You should start thinking for yourself. Even now, you just trusted me because I saved your life, but you don't even know my name."
She didn't even look at me and looked down. I then calmed down and apologised "Sorry about that, I just released my frustration from my battle on you. I shouldn't have done that."
She said "No, you were not wrong. I was acting like a spoiled brat. I thought that running away from home solved all my problems. Thank you." and I also made up my mind. I said "Cheer up, I will help you get the mine running. I accept your offer."
She smiled and extended her hand towards me. I shook her hand and said to her "Looking forward to working with you. Now, we first need someone to buy our goods and I will have to leave to search for that person. I know someone who will protect you until then. I will go meet them today and send them here."
She asked "Can I trust them?" and I said "You don't have to worry about that. They are my wives and they definitely wouldn't betray us. Also, you can trust their power, they will keep you safe."
"What?!!!! Wives!!!!! you are just a kid. Why and how are you married? And that too multiple women." she shouted, and this is the usual expected reaction. I replied "It's a long story. I will explain some other day. I first need to rest. Do you have another bed?"
"Yes, you can use Gunde's room. Since he is dead, you can even keep his room." she said and I politely declined. I wasn't going to stay here for long. I went to his room, which looked slightly more expensive than Akiko's room. I immediately collapsed on the bed and went to sleep.
I woke up after some unknown period of time and I felt someone on my bed. I turned to my left and found Akiko sleeping next to me. She was shivering even in her sleep. I guess she is traumatized from everything that happened till today. I caught her hand, which slowly stopped shivering. I was still tired, so I went back to sleep again.
I woke up again and this time, I woke up to Akiko hugging my arm tightly. I didn't know what to do in this situation and since I got the rest I needed, I didn't go back to sleep again. I looked at the ceiling and kept thinking about how my life changed from a normal kid to a kid in the Naruto world isolated by many. The thing that confuses me the most is my Sharingan.
I had to stop my train of thoughts when I felt Akiko move. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me. When she realised how she was sleeping, even her brown skin didn't hide her cheeks getting red. She immediately moved away and said "I came here because I was scared. Don't think about something else."
I just nodded and got up. I then said to her "Get up, we need to interview people." which made her confused. She asked "Interview for what?" and I replied "We need only trustworthy men with us now. and I want to see if there is someone smart amongst the thrash we have left."
I then took a bath and got ready. I announced it at the mine "I want all the guards to come to the warehouse for an interview. Whoever is selected, will take Gunde's place. Also. if anyone from the miners thinks they can do it, they are welcome as well."
I was in the warehouse when the first person came to the warehouse. I immediately knocked him out with a single blow to his head. "Why did you do that?" Akiko asked and I replied "I haven't used genjutsu in my entire life. If you want honest answers, genjutsu is the only way."
I then tied him to the chair and woke him up with a splash of water. He started shouting, which I didn't care at all and started experimenting with my genjutsu on him. It failed many times and since the chakra in his head went crazy. he would scream in pain before losing consciousness. Akiko couldn't watch this and went to her room.
