In less than a second, two massive-sized ebony wings grew out of his back, tearing a piece of his shirt. His wings were smaller compared to Theo's—
And here she was, comparing the whole universe to him once again...
"You're coming with me. No. One. Else." Theo cocked his head as if daring her to defy him like she always did.
Eva tilted her head, mimicking his posture. Getting up to her feet, she let his coat slide back and fall to the couch. Gwen whistled from her position, encouraging as always, like her best supporter.
Walking towards Kai, her smirk lasted only a second before she felt herself being picked up from behind. However, the position she was in made her want to stab Theo with an arrow.
Her bottom was close to his face while her legs dangled down his front body. He had thrown her over his shoulder as if she was a misbehaved kid, awaiting a scolding.
"Let me down!" she cried out, punching his broad back as she saw the rest of their features filled with amusement at the scene. Her pleading eyes drifted across each of their faces but they only shook their heads, proving they weren't going to interfere with the beast who was carrying her like a sack of potatoes—
"Be at the house on time tomorrow." were the only words he spoke before his own enormous wings extended out his back and he took off into the sky in a minute.
Eva helplessly clung to his back, waving the others goodnight with her free hand. They all waved back except for Davina who watched her just as curiously as the rest of them did and only nodded in reply.
Her focus returned to the man who was carrying her— no, more like she was hanging from his body like a satchel. If only she could—
"Stop thinking of a million ways on how to kill me." he suddenly spoke and Eva's eyes enlarged. How the... How did he even know?
She didn't say anything, readying herself to give him the silent treatment for as long as...
For as long as she could bear not speaking to him.
Which won't be too long considering how she got when she was around him.
Unable to enjoy the view of the stars with her head buried in his shoulder, Eva decided to ask a few questions to pass the time.
This was how long her silent treatment lasted...
"Do all Fae's have wings?" she asked, wondering if all her father's stories had been true all along.
"Only my kind have wings. Salvador consists of different types of Fae, but only some parts are occupied by humans. However, there are only humans found outside of Salvador, people who know about our kind though we have formed an agreement with them. To never endanger their species and involve them in our shit unless it affects them too."
He paused before resuming, "My people are Fae Demons, half-fae and half-demon, while some are fully demons too. That's how we have wings, we had them since the minute we were born."
Several questions entered her mind at his words. Demons? She decided to go with the one of utmost importance.
"Am I a human?" she asked.
"I'd say you were one," he answered, now slowly nearing the ground below them. "Who says humans aren't blessed with gifts?"
She assessed his words, somehow finding comfort in them. It felt as if there were about fifty different shades of his personality. Sometimes he was cocky, sometimes lonely, and occasionally he made her feel butterflies to the tips of her toes. He made her heart beat uncontrollably, mostly all the time.
"Have you ever gone outside the borders? In the human land?"
They landed on the ground a second later, and his hand slowly slid down her legs making her gasp. As soon as he made her stand on her feet again, he backed a step away as if he was maintaining distance from her.
It hurt her unconsciously, though she brushed it away as if it didn't.
"I have. Anyone can if they mean no harm to humans. The things they have invented are found here in Eden too, Gwen or the others might take you out on a more thorough tour later on."
Eva nodded absently, turning around to head to her room when she felt his touch on her arm. Her body reacted instantly as she breathed out and then gulped nervously.
"Yes?"
"Why didn't you tell me about what happened back in Isabella's court? About your powers," he asked, and she feared to look back at his face. He didn't know how his every action sent a whole horde of butterflies in her stomach. How her body reacted every time he was close to her.
"You aren't looking at me. You avoided talking to me. I disgust you, don't I—"
At this, she couldn't hold herself back. Whirling around, she met his stare right on, and her lips parted on their own.
"You have never disgusted me and no matter what you do, you won't ever disgust me. Why would you even think that—"
He stepped towards her and, out of habit, Eva walked backward. Great, he was playing this game again...
His hands rested against the wall of the house behind her as his eyes darkened further on. His face was too close to her, too near, inciting that flame inside her body once again.
"If you murder someone, tell me. I'll help you bury the body. If you break stuff, I'll help you fix it. If you wanna destroy someone, I'll help you beat them side by side. Just..." he sighed, his eyes on level with her with his head lowered.
"Don't hide. Don't keep secrets. Just tell me if something bothers you, and I'll make sure it gets erased off the surface of this world. I promise."
