Chapter 2: Chapter 2: friends in detention
It's 2:00pm, there's a storm outside, and Quinn is still in school serving detention for yesterday. Meanwhile, her younger sister who is 10, keeps calling her to rub it in her face that she's home in blankets, drinking some delicious hot mouth watering hot f*cking chocolate. Her dad wasn't angry, even as a single parent he's a very sensible man. Jason is on his phone watching some videos on tiktok, while Quinn on the other hand feels guilty for yesterday. Three other people where also with them in detention, and they seemed to be Jason's friends. Two are of black race and the other white. In the class, there was a teacher as a supervisor wearing a red short skirt, with a I LOVE NY hoodie. She was also wearing some glasses. The teacher, was having a nap due to the weather, but Jason and the rest weren't allowed to fall asleep!
JASON'S POV
I think I should apologize for being such a jerk yesterday. Quinn started to miss her mum, but I didn't show any concern.
QUINN'S POV
Today is revenge day. I gonna get my revenge on Jason for being such a jerk yesterday.
"Quinn...." Jason said trying to apologize.
"Don't talk to me you son of a b*tch!" Quinn said in a very harsh and unfriendly tone.
"Excuse me, but I'm just trynna apologize to you for yesterday, but here you are making me wanna regret my actions!" Jason said in anger.
"I'm sorry, let's just put that behind us forever. Let bygones by bygones, FRIENDS? Quinn asked In sorry tone.
"FRIENDS!" Jason responded.
"So back to the pendant. I think we should combine the two halves of the pendant you black ape!" Jason said while laughing.
"You shouldn't insult me just because I'm black, besides I'm not that dark. I thought we were friends!" Quinn said In anger.
"I'm sorry it was just a joke." Jason said in a guilty tone.
"Let's make this quick and combine the two halves together, I have a feeling this is gonna change our lives forever!" Quinn said, being excited.
Soon they combined the two halves, nothing really happened until they gave it some time, then an AI popped up in the form of hologram. The rest of Jason's friends, Pheobe, Jax and Chloe joined in to see what was up.
"Greeting Humans, I am Franklin, the AI of the pendant. You five are the next generation of VINES." A group of heroes destined to face off the anti version, ROOTless.
"Us?" Quinn asked suprisingly.
"Yes you silly! Quinn remember when your mom told you she was a hero, but you didn't take it seriously, since you were only 6 back then. She also said that the 'VINES' would consist of 3 dark vines, while the other two lighter. Finally the long awaited day has come! The first member is always the leader, that's Quinn. Each letter in VINES corresponds to a superpower. V stands for Velocity Manipulation, which means you have to power to manipulate your speed to be garter than ever, and also the speed of others. This power goes to Quinn, since she's the first member. I stands for Ignition, which goes to the second member, Jason. This means you've got the power to harness fire from your blood vessels to your hands, and also control fire." It works best when you're f*cking angry! Franklin said all this, with a robotic voice.
"Hold up, freaky robot or whatever, how do you know 'bout my mom so much?" Quinn asked.
"Your mom was the 2nd generation of VINES, remember what I just told you 'bout your mom, was when she gave you the pendant. I was still in the pendant when she gave it to you, so I overheard some conversations." Franklin answered.
"What 'bout ROOTless, who are they?" Hana asked.
"As I said before they are the anti verision of you guys. They live in a city, in another planet called Earth twin. The battle between you two teams could take place on any planet. The battle is called 'battle of the twins'.Before I list there powers, I need to finish listing yours' first." Franklin answered.
"Go on."Pheobe said.
"N stands for Night vision, which goes to the third member, Chloe. I think that one speaks for itself, so there's no need for explanation.
E stands for Electrokinesis, which goes to the fourth member, Pheobe. Electronesis simply means electricity powers. You can harness the power of electricity, and control lightening.
And finally S stands for space manipulation, which obviously goes to Jax. You have the power to eliminate an object with your mind, to a destination unimaginable." Franklin said again in a robotic voice.
Soon after Franklin was done, they all became charged with their powers. Their eyes glowed according to the powers. They couldn't control their powers, but Franklin showed them.
"Pheobe, why don't you aim the lightening outside to the ceiling, just a little bit."Frankly said.
"Kk." Pheobe responded.
Her eyes sparked blue, before hitting the ceiling. Even though it was just a little bit, it manged to cause a medium sized hole in the ceiling.
"Uhhh, what happened to the ceiling?!"The teacher finally woke up.
They quickly separated to two halves.
"It was a lightening bolt." Jason said.
"Oh." The teacher said and went back to sleep.
"Dis teacher sure is a heavy sleeper." Quinn said, then her and Jason started to laugh.
Their eyes sparked as they both started to stare into each other's eyes, but Jax snapped them out of it.
"Assemble Franklin again!" Chloe ordered.
Quickly, they assembled Franklin again.
"Thanks.Where was I?, Oh yeah ROOTless got the name since they were all orphans when they became friends, and that's the reason they turned evil, terrozing Earth twin." Franklin said feeling sorry for them. He was a more sophisticated AI, he had some emotions.
"Tomorrow we will work on endurance, and how to use your powers more efficiently." Franklin said
"But where in the world are we gonna train?!" Jax asked hopelessly.
"Huh, just wait to find out." Franklin said.
