Chapter 4: Parkers
"Holy... It's such a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Stark!'' A young man shook Tony's hand firmly, causing him to smile.
''Please, just call me Tony, Mr. Stark was my father.'' When Tony said that, there was a flash of sadness on the couple's face as he shook hands with the wife next.
''We're sorry to hear about what happened to your father... As aspiring parents ourselves, we'd hate to think of a life that our boy or girl didn't have us.''
Tony chuckled, shaking his head. ''Well, I'm sure that our future genius won't need to worry about not having his parents, come inside. Please! I am only an intermediate in your field, but I've prepared some of the best equipment that I can ahead of time, along with something still within experimental stages.''
Tony turned his body as he waved them into their new lab.
That's right, Tony hit a gold mind, turns out the Parkers, despite their study and research already bearing fruit haven't been snatched up yet, something Tony took no hesitation to do so. Watched as the Parkers began to examine their new workspace.
''This is... Amazing, all of this is top of the line, quality only money can buy, you didn't have to spend all this on us Mr-... Tony.'' Richard ask, the future father of Peter.
''Actually, on the contrary, I did. Your research into Spiders, and possibly using their DNA and other animals' DNA to increase the livability, health, and many other aspects of being a human is incredibly interesting. It's also shown to be very possible if given time and the proper equipment, each that I have given you. As in your contracts, I stated I would never use your research for military gain, and I mean it. If you do end up completing a serum, as stated I will only use it to create 'Heros' if the need ever raised.''
''You spoke of experimental tech, what was that exactly?'' It was Mary who asked, whereas Richard was a lot more focused on Biochemistry, his wife took a route that allowed her to have at least some knowledge in electrical engineering.
Tony smiled before he looked towards the ceiling. ''Jarvis, would you please introduce yourself?''
Jarvis voice came over the hidden speakers in the room, as a holographic core appeared floating in the middle of the room. ''A pleasure to meet you, Richard and Mary Parker, I am J.A.R.V.I.S, Just A Rather Very Intelligent System, Codenamed Jarvis for short.''
Mary's eyes slowly widened as she sharply turned to Tony, a slightly smug look over his face that he couldn't suppress due to his recent achievement, having made Jarvis fully interactive as he properly should be. ''Yes, the world's first-ever Self Learning Artificial intelligence. Made by yours truly, even without the need to worry about a robot take over!''
Mary spoke, excitement in her voice as she interacted with Jarvis' holographic screens, her eyes only getting wider as she noticed it was fully interactable. This kind of technology was... So far ahead of what they were currently able to produce. ''This is why you mentioned in the Contract anything we see while here stays under secrecy, and you reserve the right to break the contract if we do... You have something that could cripple the entire world.''
''I could, but I have no interest in taking over the world, for now, please think of Jarvis as a constant assistant with my levels of knowledge that will expand as you teach him things. He will help you very closely monitor your progress so that there is little to no room for error. You are restricted from accessing certain records, and deeper data of course, as I would like to keep his mind under lock and key.''
''That's completely understandable, I would never be able to work out how he was made myself, but just the fact he exists is such a promising step to the future!''
''Why thank you, Mrs. Parker,'' Jarvis responded
Mary squealed a bit, overtaken with childish joy as she and Jarvis began to talk their own private conversation.
Richard walked over to Tony, once again and took his hand, shaking it firmly. ''Thank you so much, Tony... I can not tell you how much this means to me and my wife. You're risking a lot to help us.''
Tony gripped the hand in his own with a firm grip, using his free hand to pat it. ''I'm not taking a risk, but neither am I helping just you, in hopes that I help you, your research, your studies will one day help many, many injured people, and if needed, one day protect the world.''
Mentioning possible superheroes wasn't strange, it was uncommon for sure, but bad, and strange things existed in this world, things that the two of them had seen already.
After a few more things were talked about did Tony leave them in their new building, it included the lab, as well as a place they could consider a home, offering the highest level of security so they could live their lives in peace.
As Tony walked from the building, heading towards his own workshop did he hear a soft buzz in his ear.
''Go ahead Jarvis.''
''Sir, it looks like the Stark Satelite has picked up movement... Stane is moving.''
Tony turned on his heels, heading instead towards the garage. ''Damn, had to choose now of all times... is the suit ready?''
''All tests have been run as you've asked sir, and all have reported back with flying colors. Whereas I would like you to not pilot it yourself and instead ask Lieutenant colonel Rhodes to fly it as you originally planned, but I understand the importance of moving as fast as possible.''
Tony muttered beneath his breath, did he already have a proper working Iron Man suit? Technically, yes. He had skipped a few generations, moving straight to the Mark 3, but it was ready. He hadn't yet created the official Arc Reactor, only the weaker version Tony had originally made in a cave, that is why he was displeased about Stane moving now as if he had just a few more days, he could've finished the Arc Reactor originally made for the mark 4 suit.
He wouldn't need to worry about the poisoning as it wasn't directly in his chest and was simply a power core, but its efficiency left a lot to be desired... But that's why he created two, just in case.
Tony got a lot done in the few months he's been a part of this world, a lot can happen when you've got a brilliant mind, a general idea of the future, and a lot... and we mean a lot of money.
