Chapter 39: Oceans Four

"I am master of the seven seas! I hereby name this vessel the HMS Oceans Four as captain of this ship. Also, there are only four oceans in Aftercraft, so there's nothing fanciful to this."

Indeed, there was no comedic heist to be pulled off on this dingy boat. Even if this was Aftercraft, the ship made by the crafting workshop was still as small as he remembered it to be in Minecraft. The boat was similar in size to the shipwrecks found, and while there was enough space for storage on board, Technoblade wondered how he could operate this build. It bobbed on the water that had no waves, and Technoblade sighed.

He refused to row this vessel manually.

The ice ocean biome he discovered was devoid of life. The water had to be freezing with all the ice covering the surface. There wasn't even a single igloo in sight, and no life grew in this godforsaken place.

From afar, a keen whistling sound caught Technoblade's attention, and at once, he started looking into the horizon. Sure enough, there were three of them in a pod.

"Leash! I need a leash!"

Dolphins were able to give players the swimming boost in Minecraft, which became one of the fastest ways of travelling. If he could capture a few dolphins to pull HMS Oceans Four, he would not need to manually row the ship!

As the intelligent marine mammals drew closer, Technoblade looked at them sadly. There were actually three adult dolphins and one baby in that pod. They swam closer to the shore where Technoblade was.

Squeak!

The youngest dolphin splashed some water on Technoblade from the water, and the confused Potato King spluttered. What did they want?

Whistling twice, the dolphins splashed around the shore and circled the ship. Technoblade boarded his vessel, still confused about what they wanted, but as soon as both feet were on the wooden deck, the HMS Oceans Four almost flew thanks to the speed of these dolphin-powered engines.

Before Technoblade knew it, he already discovered the salt ocean not far from the ice oceans. If he were to row the ship manually, he could take weeks to get to it. Yet, the dolphins did not stop. If anything, they sped past it and right to warmer waters.

While waiting for the dolphins to bring him to wherever they wanted to, Technoblade kept himself busy and assigned new tasks for his secretary. There were a few more intelligent graduates, so Technoblade trained them into secretaries while he promoted some miners to become smiths.

Later, Technoblade started placing orders for tools and weapons to be produced for the new villagers. He needed some sort of private guards to patrol his territory. Even with the sturdy stone brick walls and moat to prevent monsters from attacking his villagers, Technoblade wanted to give the human race a survival chance after he was no longer in charge of Orphania.

Just like that, Technoblade raised twenty-two hunters, one fisherman, six breeders and three priests.

Soon enough, the water changed colours. Technoblade started seeing more vibrant patches beneath the water, indicating coral life as the tracker skill ticked off another biome from the list.

Here, the four dolphins abandoned Technoblade's ship and disappeared quickly as they swam into the bubbling crevice beneath the coral bed.

No matter how Technoblade saw this, it had to be some kind of special event or quest. Unfortunately for his marine Uber drivers, Technoblade was one ungrateful passenger.

With no longer a use for the HMS Oceans Four liner, Technoblade jumped off the vessel and swam to shore. It was a stony beach, but Technoblade appreciated the gravel beneath his feet more than sand.

Speaking of sand, he had to find two kinds of sandy biomes. The wastelands and the desert should not be difficult to locate. With six discovered biomes, Technoblade only needed to find four more. These remaining biomes were also usually huge. If he chanced across one, he had a high chance of running at least one other biome he needed to find.

Checking his map, Technoblade turned to the left and headed towards a new swamp. He only hoped it wasn't a very far walk.

Technoblade discovered yet another pool of lava on his way, and suddenly, he had an idea.

"Can I travel quicker by mining obsidian and building portals? Will this new Globetrotter skill point me to the overworld biome from the nether?"

As always, there was only one way to find out.

After mining up every obsidian he could get from the massive lava pool, Technoblade built his first portal and hopped in.

Almost at once, he was attacked by ghasts. With the back of his sword, Technoblade slapped the fireball back and watched as the ghast swallowed a taste of its own projectile, exploding into smoke.

"That's what I thought," Technoblade smirked and checked his globetrotter skill. The arrow seemed to be pointing in the right direction, although Technoblade had no idea how far the new biome he was finding was.

"Time to walk across this massive lava lake. I'm sure a new biome will be waiting on the other side. After all, the grass is greener on the other side."

Laughing at the logic, Technoblade sprinted across the huge lava lake while keeping an eye on his stamina. He should be able to make it across. If he failed, he would simply fall asleep on his feet in the middle of a lava lake.

Thankfully, the lava lake was not as huge as Technoblade feared, even if there were several huge lakes around this small netherrack plateau. Technoblade hopped onto land and built a new portal. The arrow was still pointing in the same direction, but Technoblade was curious to know just how effective nether travelling was.

Returning to the overworld just in time for sunset, Technoblade slept the night off in a tree. He would check what was nearby when he woke up.

After waking up, Technoblade spotted the tallest hill in the vicinity and climbed it to get a better view. According to his map guide, the new biome should be in the west.

As soon as he climbed to the tallest spot, he saw it.

The dead and dry grass made Technoblade's heart skip a beat. It was one of the earth's most dangerous biomes – the savannah. Thankfully, this was Aftercraft. He certainly did not want to encounter lions, although seeing giraffes and elephants would be cool.

Trotting towards the drylands full of caution, Technoblade wondered if a desert was nearby. When there was a savannah, there was a high chance of a desert or badland near it. After all, what could be more dead than a savannah? The natural terrain generation seldom put green biomes full of life near a savannah unless there was a river near it.

As far as Technoblade saw, there were no rivers. There were plenty of ravines in the ground and caves, but Technoblade ignored them. The globetrotter checked another biome off his list of undiscovered biomes. Now, all Technoblade had to do was follow the new direction and hope that he could complete his quest fast enough.

After all, there was a long walk home through the nether awaiting him.
