Chapter 18: Chapter-18 Confronting Zabuza
Team-7 and Tazuna started their Journey to country of waves, they were going at speed of normal civilian so that Tazuna can keep up with them. After travelling for few hours they came across a puddle of water which alerted Kakashi but he did not say anything. As for Sasuke's clone which was travelling with team-7, he was looking for that puddle, and when he saw it he also did not show any reaction. Sasuke remembers that there were two events occur during their journey to country of waves, Demon brother's attack and Zabuza's attack. Sasuke was planning to let things happen as they happened in anime, he was not going to change any more things for now.
Just like anime, demon brothers ambushed them and three of them saw Kakashi been ripped in many pieces. Sakura and Naruto were stunned but both of them took their position very quickly. Naruto has trained with Sasuke for long time and he did not freeze like in anime this time, and Sakura stand in front of Tazuna ready to protect him. They were expecting attack from demon brothers but both of them suddenly stopped in their tracks. Sakura and Naruto were confused, why would those two stop right after finishing the Jonin of their team.
"Very good Sasuke, you have put them in genjutsu and by the looks of it they would not be breaking it any time soon."
Sakura and Naruto look in the direction of the voice. It was Kakashi who came out from the bushes where he was hiding, he was testing how the team would react in the case of sudden ambush. When Sasuke's clone saw the puddle, he was ready to put demon brothers in genjutsu.
Next Kakashi also praise Sakura and Naruto for quickly getting in position to protect the target of mission. Kakashi has first hand experience of Sasuke's genjutsu so he was not surprised to see these two being subdued so easily, he would be surprised if they were able to break out of it. Next they secured the enemies and Kakashi had a talk with Tazuna regarding the rank of mission. After some emotional blackmail, team-7 continued to escort Tazuna.
They travelled for few more days and finally Zabuza also ambushed them. Sasuke decided to not intervene in battle between Kakashi and Zabuza, but this time battle happened differently. Sasuke was thinking to rescue Kakashi when he get trapped in water prison but in this battle Kakashi was dominating it from the start. Sasuke was confused, from what he remembers from the anime, they should be fighting on equal footing and later Kakashi was supposed to be caught in water prison.
'Is Kakashi stronger than his canon counterpart?' thought Sasuke.
Soon he realizes that his presence made things different. Due to his presence, Kakashi was not concerned about protecting team-7 and Tazuna. Kakashi knew that Sasuke has strength of elite jonin so he gave all his attention to battle with Zabuza. Sasuke did not interfere in the battle but whenever Zabuza tried to ditch Kakashi and sneak attack them, Sasuke threw a shuriken and broke Zabuza's momentum. Zabuza was getting angry at Sasuke and he realized that it was a lost battle for him. He did not expected that a fresh academy graduate would give him this much trouble. Only reason he ambushed their team even after seeing famous 'copy ninza' Kakashi was because he had confidence to kill Tazuna under Kakashi nose, but a 12 year genin brat has ruined his plan.
Before Kakashi could finish off Zabuza, two senbons pierce through Zabuza's neck. Haku, pretending to be hunter-nin shows up and took Zabuza away, Sasuke's clone also let things run its course. After the battle, team-7 and Tazuna started travelling again, Kakashi has exhausted his chakra and needed rest. Soon he realized that something was off about whole hunter-nin incident. He informed the team that threat is not over and Zabuza might be alive.
They reached Tazuna's house, it was night so soon they went to bed. Sasuke and Kushina who were following the team also reached near Tazuna's house. Sasuke wanted to sleep on real bed, so sneaked inside the house and dispel his shadow clone. Sasuke thought of following Haku to find their base but he decided against it, he thought to have their final battle on the bridge.
Next morning Kakashi told the team that he is going to trained the team. He called Naruto and Sakura to train and not Sasuke because he knew that Sasuke did not needed these basic chakra control training. He was thinking about teaching Sasuke his signature move 'chidori' in future.
KAKASHI: "Naruto and Sakura, I am going to train you two in chakra control."
SASUKE: "But Kakashi sensei, your schedule is packed with lazing around and reading perverted books, how are you going to take time out from such important work and waste it in teaching them."
Kakashi was speechless after hearing Sasuke's sarcasm. 'Maybe I shouldn't teach this prick 'chidori'.' That was the thought going through Kakashi's head as he looked at Sasuke with cold eyes. He then turn to Naruto and Sakura and said;
KAKASHI: "Come on you two follow me."
SAKURA: "But Kakashi sensei aren't you going to teach Sasuke? He is also part of our team."
NARUTO: "Yes Kakashi sensei, he may be an arrogant bastard but he is still part of our team."
KALASHI: "I am really proud of you two for understanding the important of teamwork and not abandoning your comrade. But I am only taking you two is because Sasuke has already mastered these techniques. You two need these training but Sasuke doesn't."
Kakashi, Naruto and Sakura went to train while Sasuke decided to explore the place. Apart from ninja for their mission and civilian for their work, people don't leave the village. Shinobi world is dangerous place and people of leaf village would not leave the safety of strongest ninja village without any reason. So Sasuke also don't remember going outside leaf village in his life. So this was a rare opportunity for him to explore outside world.
