Chapter 3: New Friend
Mom and I were chatting about things that we have missed in each other's lives since we haven't been seeing each other for the past few weeks because of work and her busy lifestyle.
I was supposed to be the one who will visit her today but she surprisingly visited me herself which was unexpected. We chatted and chatted until I noticed her emotion changed as she talked to me.
"Mom, what's the problem?". I said as I instantly knew that something was wrong.
"Lia...". mom says as her expression changed even more.
I look at her eyes and told her to continue what she was about to say as I also get worried and many questions run through my head.
" I received a message earlier this morning that Adrien is coming home in a few days". she says and stopped to look at me.
"I know that you and Adrien had a very close relationship and considering that he was your best friend, it was hard for both of you when he left but I hope that you will still have that bond when you meet him again". mom said as a smile full of worry showed on her face.
"Mom... It was all so sudden and I-i'm not sure if I'm ready to meet him again.. ". I said as it was getting hard for me to process what I was feeling at that moment.
I knew the best thing was to not overreact and cry since it won't make the problem or situation any better.
I understood that he had his reasons on why he left the country so suddenly but my questions were remained untouched and disregarded as he left and until now.
My mom suddenly hugged me tight and didn't say a word as I hugged her back..

Morning came and mom ended up staying at my place for the night and left for work after she said her goodbyes.
I then went straight to the kitchen since I didn't eat dinner the night before and realized that I had a book to return to that bookstore where I unexpectedly met that cold blooded stranger.
Though he seemed cold, I surprisingly saw a warm side to him when we met.
Anyways..
After I ate, I drove to the bookstore wearing a loose shirt paired with some cycling shorts.
It has been my go-to outfit when I don't have to formally dress up for something important and It's not like I have anyone to impress anyway.
I then finally arrived and saw the owner of the store which is also a close friend of mine since I go here almost every single day for the past year to either read or return some books.
"Hi Lia". she smiled and waved.
"Hello Ms.Sophie!". I said smiling back at her.
She then went outside for a call while I returned the book and decided to get a random one.
I went to the hidden area where not much people go to and read the book I chose peacefully.
That quietness relaxed me and got my mind away from any unnecessary thoughts as I focus on the book, and it is one of the reasons why I love reading.
After that, I went outside and saw Sophie talking to someone that was oddly familiar.
I then took a closer and it surprised me that it was actually the exact same guy that I met yesterday for the second time.
"Why is he here again?". I said to myself and walked towards Sophie.
"Sophie, who was that?". I asked her.
"Oh, are you interested by any chance?". She asked and chuckled at me.
"Well to answer your question, I am not interested, and I was just curious on who he was since I met him before". I answered and she chuckled again.
"Oh, you met Nick before?". she said teasingly.
"Haha". I said sarcastically and smiled at her. I then said goodbye as I went out the store and drove to a cafe that was newly opened a few days ago.
It's also rumored that the owner of the cafe was a pretty famous person around the city because of his attractive looks and his cleverness.
I walked into the cafe and immediately saw the owner that was surrounded by many girls trying to get his attention. He tried to get out of the crowd and when he did, I saw Nick?
"He's the owner?". I asked myself while he was walking towards me and all of a sudden, he took my arm and pulled me outside.
He took me to his car and drove as far as we can from that insane crowd that filled his cafe.
We then stopped in front of a house that looked like it belonged to a really rich person.
But who's house is this? Is it his?
