Chapter 6: Tobirama cries, Development and beginning of a strong friendship

'Where do I go from here? I'm already so powerful yet I can't use all of my strength due to my body that is weakened from malnourishment. It will take about two months from now to be in tip-top shape.' Akame sighs not knowing what to do from here on. Akame decides to sing a song from one of her favorite bands. She sings Somebody out there by The Calling.

After the song, she practices swordsmanship again and then goes on to sing another of her favorite songs called The Grey by Icon for Hire. Tobirama and Tsunade misunderstand the meaning of the songs completely. For the first time in a long time, Tobirama sheds some tears. He brings his hand to his face and sees the wetness on his fingers.

Akame starts to sing Somewhere I Belong by Linkin Park. After the song, she starts coughing since the song usually requires two people to sing it. It took a toll on her lungs and throat to sing a song that needs two people and for her to make it actually sound good made it even more difficult.

Akame is forced out of her Trump Card mode and coughs out blood and kneels on the ground and uses Murasame to support her weight so she doesn't fall. Normally this would kill the user since no one in their right mind would train with trump card mode since it's a life for a life situation. But since she is immortal she cannot die from the Curse of Murasame.

Akame sings one last song it is called Angel of Darkness by Alex C. feat. Yasmin K. Afterward she collapsed onto the grass lawn. She rolls over and sees the stars in the night sky. The moon shines down on her making a beautiful but solemn picture.

'I thought the moon shines down on someone only in anime. But the light of the moon is right on top of me...' Akame falls asleep on the grass while the moon continues to bathe her in its light.

Tobirama and Tsunade are in a state of gloom. The negative energy wakes Akame up and draws her attention and she uses an S-Rank Lightning Jutsu called Lightning whip and whips the area where Tobirama and Tsunade are.

"Careful with a jutsu like that! We just wanted to see if you are okay. Tsunade was worried about you and wanted to apologize for her actions." Tobirama signals Tsunade to go and apologize for her actions.

"I'm sorry for breaking the floor... I am sorry for my immature actions." Tsunade bows a little. something she has never done.

Akame's eyes are filled with disdain and with a blank face. " Apologies are for the weak. I will not accept your apology. Take my advice princess... Apologies are worthless only actions matter. If you act better from now on then that's good and all there is to it." Akame is uncomfortable with the spoiled princess so close and even more uncomfortable with the Hokage so close. She drags her exhausted body back inside and flops onto her temporary bed and falls asleep after setting up some traps made from jutsu that will activate once someone steps on it.

With Tsunade and Tobirama...

"She doesn't like me... Grand Uncle why is... Why is she so cold to me? Her gaze when looking at me was filled with contempt. Am I really so worthless in her eyes? I don't understand! Everyone likes me but she just... Wait... So people only like me because of my status... Grand Uncle I want to take a break from school..." Tsunade just realized all those people were only nice and spending time with her because of her status and the benefits they can get.

Tsunade cries now that she finally understands why those people gathered around her. This was the turning point for Tsunade but Akame sped up the development of Tsunade unintentionally. Tsunade was supposed to figure this out when she was 11 years old but now she sees it all so clearly now. To suddenly find out that you never had friends but people that only want things from you broke Tsunade's heart and the loneliness felt crippling for the 8-year-old Tsunade.

Akame wakes up and deactivates the traps. She cleans the whole mansion since it started to get a little dusty and from time to time she cutely sneezes. A shame no one is around to see just how cute the tiny sneezes are.

Akame makes breakfast for Hiruzen and herself. And like usual she eats and then puts Hiruzen's food in the freezer. She takes her maid outfit off and starts washing it in a wooden tub with some soap and lets it air dry on a hanger. She puts her Shinobi gear on and walks to school.

As Akame enters the classroom she feels stares of blame, enamored gazes, and a single gaze of worry and zeroes in on the worried gaze and finds Sakumo. She sits in her usual spot which is coincidentally next to Sakumo.

"Hey, are you okay? You just suddenly collapsed and I didn't know what to do..." Sakumo is really worried.

"I'm fine. It's just that I pushed myself too hard. My body isn't completely healthy yet so my body gave out on itself." Akame has a softer gaze when interacting with Sakumo but to everyone else around it still looked blank and emotionless. But Sakumo can tell she opened up at least a little to him.

"Hey, when will you do your early graduation? I plan to graduate at the same time as you." Sakumo genuinely wants to be friends with Akame and she can see that he truly was worried about her and actually wants to be her friend. Akame starts to feel scared and lots of what-ifs are going through her mind.

'Is it okay for me... Just one last time... One last time I want to... Feel...' Akame nods and whispers she will graduate in two months as that is when she should be completely healthy.

"Great I will wait till then. Here's to hoping we join the same squad in the Anbu." Sakumo holds a fist out waiting for a fist bump. Akame struggles and hesitates but fist-bumps him in the end making Sakumo smile.

'She is guarded and won't easily let anyone in. She gives me the impression of a scared kitten that refuses to get attached to anyone. Perhaps it's my Hatake charms that broke some of the walls she has to guard herself.' Sakumo understands that she must have been wounded emotionally badly so she has many walls that separate her from everyone and everything.

He genuinely hopes he can help Akame finally let all those walls down. But he doesn't realize it's going to take years of effort for her to finally be herself around him. Right now though she won't let him know the real her.
