Chapter 3: Chapter 03
Before I start my second life, I will tell you a little bit of the story of the previous owner of this body. His name, and now it is my name, is Hiroyuki Hori. He was an illegal child of a rich man called Akira Shimizu. He was left behind in a small orphanage in Tokyo since He was a baby, and He was raised by the matron of the orphanage. He doesn't know what happened with his mother, but from what I see in the memories, Hori is his mother's family name. Luckily, like in my first life, the Hiroyuki Hori before me was also raised to be a hard-working person, so it will be less suspicious for me to be Hiroyuki.
Hiroyuki's childhood time is not as bad as I thought it would be for an orphan. He grew up to be a diligent and smart kid (some people called him a genius), and he also managed to get his first part-time job when he was in the first year of middle school as a Janitor in a small café. He also spent a lot of his free time playing volleyball and drawing some manga for the child in the orphanage. I start to think that God really made this character just for me to join this world.
After three years in middle school, he decided to join Nekoma High School for the sake of joining their volleyball team. He also left the orphanage and rent a small apartment to live in. And that was the time when he first met his half-sister, Kiyoko Shimizu. Turned out that the apartment is one of the Shimizu family's investments. After an awkward introduction between them, she revealed that she always knew he is her brother from one of the maids in the Shimizu family who knew about his mother. After that, she will always try to sneak up from the house and visit me secretly, and from there, the two of them started their relationship as a sibling.
Oh, and it turned out that he is one year older than Kiyoko, and from there I know that he is at least four years older than Hinata Shoyo, Haikyuu's main character. It means that I will not be able to play against them, I am slightly disappointed. But that is okay because Hiroyuki is a close friend with his junior, Kuroo Tetsuro, one of the best characters in my opinion.
After seeing Kuroo's high potential, Hiroyuki who played as the middle blocker spent his second year training hard with Kuroo to be a duo who can block everyone from every play to make the opponent frustrated. And it turned out to be a good idea in his third year when they beat the second year's Bokuto Kotaro from Fukurodani Academy in the semifinal and managed to stop Ushijima and Shiratorizawa's dominance in the final to win the national tournament's title. They were called 'Nekoma's crazy duo' by a lot of magazines for their stubbornness in front of the net.
And after he graduated from high school, this is where my story began. It turned out that after Kiyoko mother's died when Hiroyuki was in his second year, his father changed into a gambler and drug addict. In one year, he had a lot of debt that he was forced to sell almost 90% of his investment to survive. After losing almost all of his wealth, under the influence of the drug, he ended his own life, leaving Kiyoko and Hiroyuki alone.
And while Kiyoko is an independent girl, she is still a third-year high school student and she wants to enter Tohoku University next year, so she will need a lot of money. That is why, now at the end of our father's funeral, we stand alone in front of our father's tomb, discussing about our future.
"You don't need to worry Kiyo-chan, I have already saved a lot of money, and to my estimation, the money will be enough for us to live for maybe six to eight months. We only need a small apartment or house to live in, and I will search in father's investments if there is room for us. I will work hard Kiyo-chan, so you don't need to worry." I hug her tightly. God help me, I will not let my new little sister suffer in the end of her high school life.
"Thank you Yuki-nii.."
"I have already moved out from Tokyo and rent a small apartment next to father's house for a week. How about we sort our problem out in my place?" Thank God the old Hiroyuki's mind work similar to mine, so I don't need to move from Tokyo by myself.
Oh, if you are wondering where we are now, we are in the Miyagi prefecture, almost 450 km from Tokyo. It is also the home of Karasuno, the school where Kiyoko and the main character of the Haikyuu lives.
Back to the story
We are now in my small apartment, and Kiyoko is taking a shower and trying to clear her mind, she said. I know we didn't have time to take breakfast, so I will try to make a simple dish for us. After looking for ingredients, I decide to make a simple egg souffle, the traditional breakfast from French. Not a good choice if you have not eaten breakfast, I know. But at least it will warm our stomachs, and I will have to go on a shopping trip to fill my fridge.
After 30 minutes of baking the souffle's dough, I open my microwave and I immediately smell a delicious scent from the souffle.
"Yuki-nii, what did you make? It smells really good." Kiyoko sits next to me after taking a good shower.
"It is a simple souffle dish, traditional food from French. Let's eat first before we discuss our future."
"Okay, Itadakimasu."
After taking her first bite, she widened her eyes, looking amazed at me.
"Yuki-nii, it is very delicious. How come you never cook for me when I visited you?" She pouted slightly. God, she is so adorable, I thought with a small chuckle.
"It is because you always want to try a new café when you visited me. Come on, let's eat the food while it's still hot."
For the next 15 minutes, we eat in a silent yet comfortable situation. After finishing our food and washing the dish, we move to the living room and decide it is time to discuss our future.
