Chapter 4: Chapter 04
After finding a comfortable position on the sofa, I began the discussion.
"Kiyo-chan, I want to start this talk by hearing your thought. I want to know what you want for your final year in high school, and which university you want to go for the next year. Please be honest with your brother. Don't worry about me. Just tell me about your dream."
She bit her lower lips, and after a moment of hesitation, she decide to tell me,
"Well, for my last year, I want Karasuno High School to go to the National tournament, and if it is possible, maybe win the tournament?" Hearing that answer, I snorted.
"Going to the National, maybe. Win the tournament? Sorry dear little sister, but Kuroo and Nekoma will sweep every team's asses in the National." She giggled and decide to ignore my response.
"I also want to go to Tohoku University next year and learn about English literature, so my plan last year was trying to buy a book for reference to start studying this year. But I don't know if that is possible right now." She looks at me with a face full of doubt.
"Hey, wipe the doubt in your face. Your Yuki-nii is here, you don't need to worry about anything." I stand dramatically with a proud expression. She giggled after watching my antic. Good. It will do no good if she keeps doubting her future. I turned to the serious mode again.
"About joining Tohoku University, why do you want to study English literature? Tell me your goal, your dream. I will help you case your dream as far as possible."
"I want to write a book and travel around the world like J.K. Rowling. She can do anything just from her Harry Potter books. But I don't think it is possible -- OUCH!" I flick her forehead.
"Stop doubting yourself! Is that your dream?" She nods.
"Do you want to give up your dream even before you start it?" She shakes her head.
"Do you want to work hard to achieve you? I will not let anything happen to you, believe it!."
"Thank you, Yuki-nii. I love you." She blushes and hides her face on my shoulder. I chuckled. This is the first time she express her love to me.
"I love you too. Now, go to the bed. I bet you are tired right now. I will wake you up for the dinner."
I look at her tired expression. She looks like she held her yawn from the beginning of the discussion. And I cannot blame her, because the funeral of our father really drains our energy. I am glad that this body and my mentality are trained for an important time like this, so I can survive without taking a nap even with this pressure. Now, it is time to do some research.
First, I need to check my father's assets.
After checking a lot of my father's legal documents regarding his assets on his personal laptop, I realize that while he was a bastard, but he also is a genius at managing his money. He invests in many big corporations that develop smartphones. He brought a lot of stocks from Facebook, Samsung, Blackberry, and Apple. Unfortunately, due to his debt, he was forced to sell a lot of his assets, so the only asset we inherited is Blackberry's stock. After checking the date and seeing that I am in the middle of 2011, I know that this is the best time to sell Blackberry's stock because this is the golden year of Blackberry. I need to discuss this with Kiyoko because she is the legal inheritor of my father's wealth.
Similar state with stocks, my father had already sold a lot of his properties to pay the debt. The only thing that was left for us is a small house near Karasuno High School. It contains two bedrooms with a shower inside it, a kitchen, and a living room.
'So this is the house God prepare herself for me. Thank god for your gift.' I thought.
The next thing I need to research is how to get money. First, I think about opening a café. But considering the pros and cons, I decide to throw away the idea. Don't get me wrong, opening a café is a good idea. But it is a long time investment, and I need a lot of money for Kiyoko, so I will consider the café idea next year in Tokyo with Kiyoko. Hmm, that's a good rhyme, hehe.
The next Idea that I thought, I think will be the best and the only idea that I can use right now, being a mangaka. After doing some research on the internet, I know that Shounen Jump, the one who produces a lot of mangaka coming from the Bakuman world, which means I will have to compete with Eiji Niizuma and Ashirogi Mutou. Fortunately, the Tezuka Award that will be the debut of Eiji Niizuma will happen next month, so I need to prepare my workplace to draw a manga.
Oddly enough, even if there is a lot of famous manga from my first world, there are no famous movie maker like Hayao Miyazaki, Makoto Shinkai, and Mamoru Hosoda in this world. This mean, there would be no famous movies like Kimi no Na Wa or Spirited Away in this world, except if I decide to write about it. Now, I am getting excited.
But let's leave the manga problem behind, and go to the next problem, Kiyoko's education. I am glad though, that she is interested in English literature because the previous owner of this body is a language freak. He studies a lot about foreign languages so now I have a lot of references for Kiyoko. Even though it is a secondhand book, I think Kiyoko is not a picky person, so it will be okay for now. But for the entrance fee and the tuition fee, I will need to give my 110% to get more money.
I sigh. I need to work harder than usual. But this is not my first time, and I am ready for a new challenge, I thought with a slight smile spread across my lips. It is time for my next adventure.
