Chapter 4: Touya and Morgan
"Are you sure you don't want to play with the other children?" I silently nod at mother. "They're too noisy." I said and glanced behind her to see a bunch of children my age running away acting like fools. My sister was off to the side talking with some girls from well-off families, she seemed to be having fun.
Mother sits down on the ground next to and leaned against the trunk of the tree. She wraps her arm around me and combs her fingers through my blonde hair. "I wanna go home..." I mumbled leaning into her. "I know you do." Mom say's. She reached into her basket and took out two books. "I know your sister already brought you a book but, I figured you'd finish it awhile before we'd leave." She hands me the books and kissed my forehead. "Thank you..." I said quietly and hugged her. She went back to talk to the party letting me enjoy reading my books in peace.
If I wanted to survive in this world, then I must find a way to get stronger for whatever comes next. You can never live too peacefully when one gets isekai'd. Something bad always happens, and I need to be ready for whatever it may be and now that I'll be a big sister soon, I want to be able to protect my little sibling from anything that intents to harm them.
After about ten minutes, a black haired girl with emerald green eyes approaches me. I side glanced at her causing the girl to nervously smooth out her dress. "H-hi..." The girl says softly.
I closed my book and look up at her. "Do you need something?" I asked her.
"I was just wondering why you weren't with the others." The girl whispers. I got up to my feet, I'm a head taller than her so she had to look up a bit. "You those fools playing over there? I wouldn't be caught dead hanging around them." I said.
"The only kids over there that have more than half a brain cell are the two girls' my sister is laughing with. Anyways, you must be Morgan I presume?"
The girl nods shyly. I took her hand and kneeled before her.
"I'm Touya Pendragon Kazuya, the second princess." I kissed her hand and flashed Morgan a small smile. "I must say, you have a lovely home~"
Her whole face turns red. "T-thank y-you!" She stutters. I couldn't help but smile bit, it was just too cute!
"I like you Morgan, let's be friend's." I said to her.
"O-okay! Your my very first friend then!" Morgan's eyes shined. She immediately attached herself to my arm. "Y-you like to read right? What kind of book are you reading?"
"It's about how to cultivate mana. You might have a hard time reading so I'll read it to you." I pat the space on the ground next to me motioning for Morgan to sit with me. She laid her head on my shoulder as I read to her. It seems that I've made my first friend in this world.
Unbeknownst to us, our parents are watching from afar. My mother having the biggest smile on her face like she had just won the lottery.
