There was a much larger part of Theo than he wanted to admit that begged him to distance himself from Twilight and that part caused his reply to catch in his throat.

"Theo … " Alice's voice was gentle and coaxing; careful. "If you want to find your mate; you can't stay in California. She'll never step foot here. Do you know what happens when a vampire… our type of vampire … steps into the sunlight?"

Theo nodded once, relief flooding his entire body. If his mate couldn't come to LA then she wasn't a human – she wasn't Bella Swan. Thank fucking 'Freeman' for small miracles. "The sun reflects against your marble like skin causing a reflection similar to that of a diamond."

"We sparkle, dude." Emmett deadpanned with raised eyebrows. "You only had to say we sparkle." Rosalie smacked her hand against his chest lightly and rolled her eyes.

Alice also rolled her eyes, but she nodded. "And in California we would be nothing but walking red-flags. Everyone would know we were different. We would be exposed."

Theo opened his mouth to correct but thought better of it and closed it again. He isn't quite sure the Cullens realize that in LA; men and women walking down Hollywood boulevard while sparkling wouldn't even hit the top ten strangest things seen on any given day. If people asked questions; they would only be how they managed to get the glitter on that way – how they got it to shine like that – and how they managed to prevent it from sweating off in the California heat.

Every lesbian, transgender and gay man would whistle, wave, and boost the hell out of their egos until eventually they became just another spectacle that was such a common sight – no one any longer batted an eye lash in their direction. But Theo was also aware; the Volturi wouldn't accept such a blatant loophole.

"My mate is a vampire…? You've seen her?" Theo tried to ask casually but his voice was laced with enthusiasm. Unlike some, Theo loved the idea of soulmates. Of one person that was made for him and him alone. Someone who only had eyes for him. That he could worship, love, and cherish for eternity like the queen she is. He was a closet romantic, after all.

"No spoilers…." Alice sing-songed, swinging her legs with an entirely too innocent smile on her vampiric face. "If you want to find her; you have to come home, big brother. Or…" She sighed, but in a teasing way. He eyes alight with mischief. "You could stay in LA by your lonely, little lonesome."

"Evil little fairy." Theo growled, flashing his fangs playfully. "I guess I'm going to Forks."

The Joy that lit up everyone's face; caused a warmth in Theo's chest that he desperately tried to ignore.

Three weeks later…

It took time; or maybe that was because Theo was stalling. The Cullens had returned to Forks the same night. The weather wouldn't have stayed as gloomy as it was; even if it continued to rain – Alice already saw the sun would be back bright and early the next day and so they, reluctantly, left Theo in LA and Theo went about setting up his life so he could still record music but while living in Forks instead of LA.

It was decided that it wasn't that far of a drive if either of his agents (Literary or Music) needed him to return for any reason. He could email copies of his drafts and the same with his songs, and AT&T was more than willing to continue their contract with Theo from in Forks. He was, after all, partnering with them to release a brand-new state of the art phone, complete with accessories like phone cases and earbuds with a mini microphone attached.

Theo didn't only spend his six months writing songs and investing. He spent it studying; with his new memory – he didn't even have to attend school. Instead, he simply purchased as many textbooks and information as possible and read them from cover to cover. He even bought books related to computer science, software development and intro to technology among other things.

It was how his baby – his own personal creation 'The OZI phone' was created.

The worlds very first smartphone coined with the slogan … 'You don't have to see the future, to take the very first step.'

Theo had been appalled to learn that even the iPhone 2G – a very shitty iPhone in comparison to the ones he was used too – wouldn't be released until 2007. It was all hush, hush – in the works but a little compulsion goes a very long way.

That dismay quickly turned into 'ingenuity'.

Just as with the songs he wrote, and the books he published; why couldn't he take advantage of a market that was just lying-in wait?

Why couldn't he create his own version of what would one day become an essential need to everyday life?

Why couldn't he start the game before the others even stepped onto the field?

He was by no means an expert in future technology; but he knew enough to know the specifications, design and features of the iPhone 4 to 11 pro Max, and the specifications to the Galaxy s4 to s20. He watched a lot of YouTube videos on reviews and unboxings in order to choose the best phone every time his contract was ready for an upgrade.

With his new memory, which allowed him perfect 'recall' along with the things from his past life – it was ridiculously easy to remember all of that information. Theo almost felt a little cheap… but a cheat sheet is a cheat sheet and with the way things would go between the years 2018 to 2022 – well, who was he to look a god in the face and turn down such an opportunity?

Theo even created his own version of Siri and Alexa; referred to as 'Hey, Doddle!' TM .

Named by four-year-old, Sophie Andrews, daughter of Jayden Andrews, his Agent.

Her exact words… "What's that fan-doodle machine you have, Theo?" He was aware that she meant to say fandangled; something that Jayden's father – Aaron said a LOT, but it was so funny that Theo kept it.

After that act of genius – he offered her money in exchange for help in naming things when he had a 'new' idea.

His phone case line for the OZI phone? Pimpzilla.

His line of children's tablets? Littlefinger.

His ear bugs with a built-in microphone? Rosebud.

And finally, the music app – offered exclusively for OZI phone customers, that included all of the music written and produced by Theo (which was nearly all popular songs anymore) … Moozeek.

If he had to compare the first 'OZI Phone' with the future technology – he would say it was similar to the iPhone 8 and 8 plus. (Yes, OZI phone offered a taller and wider version of the same phone for only 10 dollars more!) At first, he thought, 'go big or go home!' and almost went straight for the iPhone 11 – but he decided to just release new versions of the phone as time went on. It wasn't as good as the phone he had when he died (iPhone 11 pro max) but it was so much better than going back to flip-phones and having to type one number key multiple times to get the letter you wanted.

Theo had more business opportunities and things planned for the future - he did not want to live off the Cullens; he still hadn't touched Edwards bank account. He may have used the money that was in the trunk, but he couldn't have survived off no money at all - if he thought they would take it, he would have paid them back.

Theo was used to being independent and no matter what they thought - The Cullens were strangers to him. He may have started to feel some sort of ... confusing affection toward them after reading their minds - but they still weren't his family.

He would pay his own way in this world - by any means necessary; just as he did after his aunt died.

Almost the entire drive to Forks, Theo debated turning around and going back to LA. He was restless and on edge. Don't get him wrong; Theo wanted his mate… his inner wolf wanted his mate, even his vampiric side wanted his mate! … but was he ready for whatever drama being in Forks would bring?

More specifically; the drama that the "walking caution sign" known as Bella Swan would bring? Would things go down like they did in the books? Was this a case of 'The Future Just Wants To Happen' – and no matter what, the Cullens would end up facing James, Victoria, and the Volturi? Except with Oliver, "Theo's Twin" – as Isabella's mate?

Was Oliver disgustingly broody like Edward was? Did he have a gift?

Theo had more questions than answers and he did not like not having any answers.

He had tried to ask Alice; but she refused to answer anything until he was in Forks … maybe she saw that Theo would run with his fuzzy tail tucked between his legs if she did. And the information she did give him … his mate would eventually come to Forks? How long would that take? Or was she already in Forks?

Unless the future changed because Theo was in Twilight… then the only female vampires should be the Cullen Coven … and Victoria!

Was Victoria not mated to James? Was she Theo's mate, instead? A small flicker of … disappointment … settled in his chest. Not that Theo understand his own reaction. Victoria was … eccentric but hot and wild. Theo was sure that Victoria broke way more beds than Rosalie and Emmett did in her 500 years of life; having been born in the 1550s.

When he felt a wave of … agitation – that wasn't truly his own; he was sure the disappointment stemmed from his vampiric side and the agitation had came from his wolf side. If he didn't know any better; he would assume they were irritated that he was thinking about someone who wasn't their destined mate… but how on earth was he supposed to fantasize about the right person if he had no idea who she was and Alice refused to tell him?

--- 00 --- 00 -- 00 -- 00 -- 00 -- 00 -- 00 -- 00 -- 00 – 00

"The City of Forks, Welcomes You."

Theo's car came to a full stop right before the sign, the only sound was the silent engine; the soft vibrations of the Volvo undeath him.

It was real when Cullens knocked on his front door.

It was real when he read their minds, when he spoke to them; when he started feeling emotions that were not truly his own – for a family that he had, for lack of a better word, stolen.

But nothing could prepare him for the utter panic he felt at seeing this sign! This sign – that might as well have been a flashing warning sign. A sign that screamed this is the point of no return.

That when he crosses this line, he is entering no mans land.

His heart pounded in his chest and his palms felt sweaty as he tightened his hold on the steering wheel. He took a few deep breaths, clenching his jaw and steeling his resolve. His skin felt tight and his wolf was nearly aching with the need to get out of the car, shift and take off back to LA.

Back to his comfort zone….

He didn't. He ignored all of the warning bells in his mind and slowly pressed down on the gas.

The speed limit was only ten miles per hour; but Theo couldn't bring himself to go faster than a snails pace. Someone could have walked faster than his car was moving.

It was just as he was about to finally pass the sign that he pressed down on the brakes – harder than the first time causing the car to jolt forward.

A sensation fell over him; like passing through a waterfall. Like a bucket of cold water had just been dumped on his head and sent his entire body into fight or flight. His fangs abruptly descended; teeth bared toward an unseen threat as his golden eyes tinted with red scanned the scenery intently.

The sign had changed and Theo felt a mixture of alarm and panic squeeze his heart in his chest. He had no proof – not really, maybe he was seeing things. Maybe he was so worried about the future, he was giving himself a reason to run.

Panting breaths left his slightly parted lips while he glared menacingly at the sign – the sign that had changed before his very eyes. "And may the odds be ever in your favor."

He could not sense anyone around for at least another mile. He didn't smell a vampire or a shifter; not that any part of him was naïve enough to assume they had been the one to do this.

That they could have… no, a witch was the only explanation but witches didn't exist in Twilight! Or did they? There was supposed to be no threat alive here – he had made sure of that! His wishes had ensured it! … but they didn't, did they? He had made them with the assumption that nothing – not witches or the white oak stake existed here …. But maybe … just maybe … they did.

Natures horrifyingly irritating habit of always needing to create a balance…

Despite his erratic thoughts and feelings, Theo forced his foot back onto the gas – this time ensuring he got as far away from the town line as possible, as quickly as possible … especially when he looked back and saw the sign read, "The City of Forks, Welcomes You." .. once more.
