Chapter 19: Kill Or Be Killed
"Hello there, your moves proves you're not human but if you're human and really don't know why we're shooting, please step out, it's not you we're searching for, we're in search of the beast that terrorize this vicinity" Elvis sang marching from the darkness with his father.
"You heard that?" Elena asked.
"Stay still, Elena"
"I think they're in search of wild animals, they say if we're humans we should step out, we're not animals, Silvia"
"Yes you're not, I am, the moment you step out and I don't, they'll gun you down"
"What are you talking about?"
"Follow my lead, stay behind him"
"What?, I'm so scared right now"
"MotherFvckers, why the hell are you shooting at us?" Silvia cursed.
"They're human" Elvis whispered.
"Shhh"
"Don't play games, what are you doing in the woods?"
"You know what, I'm gonna call the cops right now, I'm gonna tell them you guys are trying to kill my sister and I" Silvia announced.
"yes, I should call my father" Elena whispered to Silvia.
"Keep shut, don't, I've everything under control"
"Father, we were shooting at humans, they're not wolves"
Garrick nodded and the men lowered their weapons.
"Sorry ma'am, you don't have to call the cops, we're hunting the wild creatures in the woods, thought you were one"
"Fine, go away then"
"My men will escort you home, step out please ma'am" Garrick said.
Elena wanted to go but Silvia held her down.
"What's up Silvia?, they explained themselves already"
"No, they're gonna test us with wolfsbane to see if we're truly humans"
"You're driving me crazy"
"If you don't cooperate Elena, we're gonna die, okay?, trust me"
"We're waiting for you ma'am"
"My sister got hit, she's bleeding you idiots!"
"What!" Elena exclaimed.
"Um... We're sorry for that, ma'am, Go" Elvis beckoned at two of the gunmen ahead.
Silvia inhaled and shut her eyes as she could hear the approaching footsteps.
"Do not panic ma'am, we're gonna get her treated"
Silvia didn't reply as she opened her eyes gently and it was completely red.
"Silvia, your eyes"
"Run when I tell you to, okay?"
"What?... My.." She paused seeing Silvia's eyes turn to normal.
Silvia rose slowly as she picked a sharp rock.
She watched the men come slowly from the opposite sides of the tree with their M4A1 rifle pointed forward.
The entire place was dark now and the clouds were starting to release little showers already.
The two men looked down at Elena who was seated while Silvia bit her lower lip.
She grabbed the gun of the first man up and stabbed the rock straight into the throat of the second who gagged loudly.
She let go of rock and her fingers grew into thick claws which she swiftly stabbed into the stomach of the first man whose gun was held.
Elena screamed loudly as blood sprinkled from throat of the man who was stabbed with a rock, he dropped dead to the ground.
"Fire!"
Elvis screamed and the men rose their weapons immediately.
Silvia who already removed the rifle of the first man opened fire on them and they scampered for cover.
"Run!" She screamed at Elena who was waiting for that command already
Like a possessed being, she took to her heels with the gunshots echoing in her ears.
Silvia kept firing sporadically as she followed after Elena who ran blindly.
She stopped shooting and turned to see the figures moving in the darkness ahead.
She dived forward grabbing Elena down and they came crashing to the ground as the new set of men from the darkness fired arrows from their crossbow toward them.
Silvia pulled Elena to behind a rock and strafe out to fire at the men.
"I'm scared, Silvia" She cried.
"Don't be"
"You killed those men"
"I know, just keep shush and we're gonna leave here alive"
She stepped out and opened fire at the men.
Elena sniffed and raised her head to see Garrick and the other men coming from behind.
"They're coming" She screamed.
Silvia turned back and opened fire, they fail to return as well.
"Werewolf using gun like a pro, I told you they're not ordinary father" Elvis said as they hid behind a tree.
"You were right son, she's trying to stall us, spread out, surround them!" Garrick screamed and the men spread away quickly.
"Shit!" Silvia screamed hiding behind a tree.
"What?"
"They're surrounding us"
"Oh my God, Silvia!" She cried.
"We're gonna me fine, trust me"
"They have guns, Silvia, guns, they're shooting"
"I know, my sister will be here soon, we'll put them to where they belong"
"You have a sister"
"Now is not the best time for that, C'mon let's take the dark path"
They both scurried behind a log of wood to the darkness where Elvis men where spreading into already.
She whistled and one of the men turned to her direction.
Swiftly she punched his throat and kicked the gun of the other man who tried to raise it at her.
"Get down, Ely!".
Silvia rolled behind a tree and cleared off the foot of the third man.
Quickly, she stabbed her claw into his back and turned catching the arrow that was shot at her.
She escaped the dagger attack of the man coming behind and kicked him against a tree.
Elena peeped from where she hid to see men with knapsack sprayer moving toward where Silvia was.
"What the hell?"
Silvia twist the hand of the last woman and she screamed loudly as her bone broke.
She rose her head slowly to see the men with knapsack sprayer approaching.
"Is this a joke?" She chuckled as they raised the spray lance toward her.
They pressed the trigger and she screamed loudly as the liquids burnt her skin.
"Wolfsbane" She groaned in pain.
A man with sniper rifle could be seen aiming the weapon at Elena who was peeping from behind a rock when something sharp thrust into his back.
He dropped down and there was Olivia with Maggie.
"Hang around, I'll find my sister" Maggie told her and took off.
Olivia grabbed the man by the throat and dragged his body away.
"C'mon man, let's have a chit chat"
Silvia grunt to her knees as her skin peeled off gently.
"What are they doing to her?" Elena whispered in confusion.
One of the men pulled a knife and stabbed it into her back, that single thrust seemed to activate something as she roared loudly scaring all the sleeping birds in the woods and attracting the attention of Garrick and the others.
