Chapter 13: Chapter 10: Life of a Cannon Fodder

Before Yutarou knew it, it was Monday once again.

He had to put up with the yanderes starting from now and the next four days.

The weekend never felt so far for him before. In fact, he never counted the days and just lived in them without any care in the world.

Yutarou entered the club room with a heavy heart.

Akira was sitting on one of the chairs in front of a round table.

His posture was perfect, you could draw a straight line on his back.

He was busy flipping some flashcards.

'Of course he's studying.' Yutarou sighed.

He fixed his necktie. He had always been a clean freak. If there was something wrong with his things, especially, his uniform, he would arrange it in a blink of light.

That's also one of the reasons why Akira was popular among the teachers, he was a neat student who gets high grades and is willing to join any competitions, let it be in or out of school.

"You're probably wondering why I have this bruise." Akira trailed off the moment he noticed Yutarou's presence.

'Not really.' Yutarou sat across the red eyed man.

"I'll tell you. Your "good" friend Takahashi Keijirou punched me for blackmailing you." Akira informed.

Yutarou's face became pale and his breath hitched. He tried to hide the fact that he was shocked. He should not indulge yandere with his emotions.

'You blackmailed the whole school, idiot.' Yutarou wanted to say that he was not the only he had troubled but the everyone in the school.

He gulped, asking, "...did you punch him back?"

"No, I didn't. Fighting is not logical." Akira responded, fixing his glasses.

'He's not going to kill the MC, is he? What if he direct his anger on me and kill me, instead? I don't want that.' Yutarou's hands was colder than ice, he didn't want to have an eye contact with the yandere in front of him.

Yutarou sprung up from his seat. "I have to get something. I'll be back."

"Be swift. You still need to prepare the food." Akira said, still memorizing the parts of the brain.

"I know." Yutarou assured.

Yutarou ran through the hallways and bumped to some people. He apologized and they let him go.

He bought a Fresh Milk from the vending machine. This was Akira's favorite drink.

He also passed by the infirmary to grab a band aid.

He dipped a cotton bud in the alcohol bottle and ran again towards the Yandere Host Club Room.

"Sato—kun." Yutarou called.

"I told you to drop the honorifics." Akira reminded.

"Ah... Sato, here." Yutarou handed the Fresh Milk to him, it was still cold that the carton was full of moisture.

"What is this?" Akira raised his eyebrow.

"A drink. Think of it as an apology for my friend." Yutarou hoped he would accept it.

"How did you know I like this type of drink?" Akira inquired before pulling the straw and stabbing it to the hole.

"Oh, you like it, too? What a coincidence." Yutarou feigned ignorance.

"What are you doing, now?" Akira asked when Yutarou held his chin.

"Please stay still. I'll clean your bruise." Yutarou wiped the blood out with the dry part of the cotton bud. "Please stop staring at me. It's making me uncomfortable." He requested.

"Hm." Akira hummed in response, still not looking away.

Yutarou sighed. He finished cleaning it with alcohol.

"Ouch!" Akira flinched.

"Huh—what?" Yutarou backed down, instinctively. "Did that hurt?" He asked.

"Isn't it obvious?" Akira stated.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Yutarou apologized.

"Blow on it." He commanded.

"Pardon?" Yutarou's eyes widened by the sudden development.

"I said blow on it. It stings." He repeated.

"Umm... Okay...?" Yutarou did as he was told. Their faces were inches away from each other. Akira's eyes never left on Yutarou's lips. "Is it okay, now?" The teal haired asked.

"Hm."

He reached for the band aid in his pockets and opened it.

"There." Yutarou said after placing the bandaid on his bruise. Akira touched his face, his hand brushing a little with Yutarou's.

"Wow. You lovebirds, stop flirting. You're making me feel left out." Kazuya spoke, walking towards them. He sat on one of the chairs, as well, putting his feet on the table.

Yutarou didn't deny it because he thought Akira would, but for some reason, the genius yandere didn't either.

Akira's eye twitched by the scene but he chose to ignore it.

Kazuya's jacket was nowhere to be found. His long sleeves polo shirt's upper two buttons were opened and it was quite wrinkled. His necktie was hanging on his chest.

"Suzuki—senpai." Yutarou bowed.

"Hey there, my dear kohai." Kazuya grinned at Yutarou. He, then, turned to Akira with a bitter look on his face. "Looks like our other club member hurt himself." He glared at Akira.

"It's just a little cut." Akira pushed his glasses, glaring back at Kazuya.

"Oh, it's something you could fix yourself, then." Kazuya spat, scoffing.

"Uh..." Yutarou noticed the atmosphere getting darker.

"Say, Yuu—chan. What are your plans after school?" Kazuya changed the subject, now facing the teal haired boy.

"I'm not sure. I'm probably going out with Takahashi—kun." Yutarou answered.

"You sound as if you're dating." Kazuya commented. "I can join you, right?" He asked, but it was more of an order.

Yutarou had to blink a few times, not understanding what the redhead yandere just said. "Pardon?"

"I'm bored. Hiro is absent and I have nothing left to do." Kazuya let his head hung backwards, his eyes gazed upon the white ceiling.

'That's not my fault.' Yutarou looked the other way.

"Uh, I'm not sure. I have to clear it up with Takahashi—kun first." Yutarou reasoned out, gazing at the redhead.

"Takahashi? Hmm." Kazuya hummed, tapping his feet on the table. "Oh the blueberry you're always with. Don't worry about it, I'll find and tell him." He dismissed Yutarou's excuse.

Yutarou shook his head. Kazuya shouldn't be near anywhere the MC. Keijirou already displayed his dislike towards the redhead, it could end in a fight or worse, death. "No, no. I got it. I got it, so, just, uh, just wait for my response."

"Alright. I want your number." Kazuya's eyes went back on Yutarou.

"Sorry, I don't have a phone." Yutarou informed.

"Huh, why not?" Kazuya asked.

"I lost it." Yutarou admitted. Well, the original Yutarou either lost or hid it somewhere, or the dude simply didn't have a phone. "Yeah, misplaced, kind of way. I still need to find it." Yutarou went with this excuse.

"I see. You need a new phone, then." Kazuya stated, as if phones are leaves that grows on a tree.

"That's fine. I don't really have any money on me to buy any expensive stuff so..." Yutarou was actually quite happy about not having a phone. That way, he won't get stalked or followed whatsoever. The crazy things GPS could do.

"How about I'll get you one?" Kazuya offered.

Yutarou shook his head, declining. "What? No need, senpai. I'd rather not burden you with it." He hoped that he'll drop the subject.

'Why is he doing this? I'm sure he has a hidden agenda. I'm getting chills.' Yutarou rubbed his arms with his hands. He felt cold even though he wore two layers of clothing.

"Uh... I have to check on something." Yutarou said, stumbling on the door. He chuckled with an anxious look on his face.

He bowed, then, closed the door and ran away, faster than the speed of light, if he says so, himself.

"He's so cute when he tries to stay composed even though he's anxious, don't you think?" Kazuya commented, asking for Akira's opinion on the matter.

Akira scoffed. "Please don't talk about my classmate like that." He bluntly said,

"Don't you find him cute, as well, Akira?" Kazuya asked once again. He doesn't know why he wanted the other's opinion, but he hated the way Yutarou talked to him.

"Please don't call me by my first name. We don't know each other and I'd like for it to stay that way. And, no. I see Yamaguchi as a worthy rival. He's a genius, and for you to degrade him as just being cute is offensive. If you'll excuse me." Akira declared, leaving the room afterwards.

Akira was not one of those people who judge others by their appearance, although, he might've found Yutarou cute in another way.

"Aren't my underclassmen cute?" Kazuya shook his head.

"A dense one and an anxious one."Kazuya's laugh filled the room.

Yutarou marched through the hallways, biting his lip.

"God! I'm gonna die. Should I quit the club and join another one? But, what if Akira is still blackmailing everyone? What should I do?" He muttered to himself, biting his nails and stopped when Keijirou approached him. He hid his hands behind him.

"Yamaguchi—kun." Takahashi greeted.

"Oh, Takahashi—kun. Right. Remember Suzuki—senpai?" Yutarou smiled.

"Yes, the spoiled brat." Keijirou rolled his eyes.

"Well... He wanted to hang out with us." Yutarou informed.

"What?! Why?!" Keijirou furrowed his eyebrows scowling.

Yutarou shrugged. "I don't know, either."

"We must decline!" Keijirou decided, he didn't need to think twice.

"That's true. But, what if he gets mad?" Yutarou asked Keijirou.

What if a death flag gets triggered, even the MC won't be able to escape from Kazuya's grasps. Especially, now that they hate each other.

"He has no right to be. It's up to us if we want him around or not. Hmmp!" Keijirou closed his eyes, not wanting to discuss on the topic any farther.

"By the way, Takahashi—kun. Why did you hit Sato?" Yutarou asked, changing the topic.

Keijirou opened his eyes and they landed on Yutarou. His eyes were surprisingly cold. "Sato? Are you dropping the honorifics, now?"

Yutarou thought that he caught the chills. "Well..."

"He forced you, didn't he!? That bastard! I should've hit him harder." Keijirou clicked his tongue.

"Please don't." Yutarou pleaded.

"Why not? He can't fight to save his life." Keijirou insulted.

'I'm sure he can and he will kill you!' Yutarou tried to convince the angry Chihuahua in front of him.

"It's better to not cause nay troubles. You're new here, after all, Takahashi—kun. It would be bad if you would have abad reputation after a week of transferring. What if you get expelled? I have no one left here." Yutarou told him all the excuses he could think of.

"You're right, Yamaguchi." Keijirou said in a casual way.

"Eh?" Yutarou tilted his head.

"Call me Takahashi, as well, Ya—ma—gu—chi." Keijirou stipulated, saying Yutarou's surname in syllables.

"Ah, sure. Why not, Takahashi?" Yutarou smiled.

"Yay!" Keijirou cheered.

Yutarou sighed. 'Good thing he's back to his old self. That scared me for a bit.'
