Chapter 14: A Teary Good Bye

<Thomas...>

Thoams realized Simon sounded disgruntled and heartbroken.

That was greatly concerning. He knew Simon was sad at that moment. But what made him sad?

<Thomas, I am very sorry about this. But from now on we will not be able to talk like this.>

Thomas's heart thumped. What was he saying? Won't be able to?

He had never thought that Simon would stop talking with him.

Thomas felt how helpless Simon sounded. But that meant they might never be able to talk again.

<Ah...So this is the last time we can talk?>

Thomas never thought there would be a day like that.

Simon stopped while to while, so he could hear Thomas's reply.

<I- I got it. No worries. I hope we can meet one day. So no need to worry.>

Thomas was a little angry. That was the only method he had been in touch with Simon. If he lost them too, he was not sure if Simon would disappear from his world. He had become possessive of Simon.

Neither Thomas nor Simon wanted that. But they had to.

<Mmm...Good luck with your work. I still have a lot of things to tell. But guess I will have to wait. I am afraid I might forget them in these three years.>

Thomas said, upsetmindly.

<Please, don't forget me! You can forget anything, but not me! When we meet again, I want to tell you everything. I- I will confess properly. I will do anything you want. We had been talking like this for years. Wait for only three years. Only three! I will never forget you, please!>

Thomas said, faking a laugh. He didn't want this. But he couldn't force Simon since it was a serious matter.

Two hearts beat with dear while saying goodbye.

Simon didn't want to go. He had to tell everything before they stopped talking. But he had nothing more to say. Yet, he wanted to keep talking about something.

Because every time he remembered, it would take three years for him to talk with him again, he was scared thinking he might have forgotten something important.

<Thomas, I like you. Don't forget either my confession or me. When we meet again, I will not separate from you even for a minute.>

<Okay. That's a promise then. Then I will get going.>

<Mmm...Good luck with your work. Be strong! Ah! And don't forget to miss me. I love you.>

Thomas was the first to cut their connection. It was obviously a punishment for both of them. That special person could only be seen after three years.

And Thomas knew that Simon also felt the same as him. Both of them wished these three years would pass in a minute.

They had been saying 'I love you' a few times without much worth. But the last time, Thomas felt these words were precious. During these upcoming three years, those words will be the most important thing in their minds.

They loved each other.

Thomas felt very heavy in his heart. Even though they had been communicating only through their voices, he still heard his voice. Even if he never saw Simon, he at least heard his voice. But when he heard he was gonna lose that too, he literally went blank.

Their feelings were always shared only through words, not by eyes. So in their world, words had much power.

In Thomas's viewpoint, love is never caused by appearance. True love comes from the heart. It's a miraculous process.

When Thomas realised it, he felt his eyes getting wet. He never got emotional over Simon. That was the first time. He cried the whole evening recalling Simon's every word. Even if others didn't understand their relationship, even just a voice meant a lot to Thomas and Simon.

Three years was a long period. He felt like it would never end. But he wished these three years would fly quickly.

'Time will fly soon. I will be a powerful person, so when you see me, you will be proud of me.'
