Chapter 8: Kai
Mira had silver hair, with a flawless look except for the cold and distant look in her eyes. But both of them were extremely good actors, as they are able to copy each other habits too well. Mira looked at Alicia who was bitterly smiling at Mira's mischievous grin.
"Senior Kai! Good morning."
Alicia smiled at the boy that was heading toward them, whereas Mira completely ignored him to the end.
When Jun who was standing beside Mira looked at her, he was able to tell that Mira was currently planning something.
"Sister Mira! What are you planning now, please allow me to retreat? I have no intention of getting caught up in all that."
Jun silently moved when Mira turned and winked at him while holding his arm. She pulled him close to her and turned back to look at Kai guy.
"Brother Jun let's go, we can just ignore them. After all, it is going to be your first contract right. Then we should make it fast enough."
When Jun spoke about planning and all, Mira was caught off guard by Jun's words, then again she thought about their reason for bringing Jun here.
So, she dismissed her plan of messing with Kai.
Where she was more interested in seeing what kind of grimoire will Jun have. Given every soul is unique no two people have some kind of grimoire which was very much like DNA on earth.
"Hmm! I am also looking forward to the Grimoire summoning ceremony. But after that, I would like to head to the library. Is sister Mira free, to accompany me there?"
He nodded and walked when Kai, started to take notice of him after he came out of his self-delusional world of his.
Where his gaze intensified on Jun, especially the hand that was being held by Mira. Obviously, he was being jealous of Jun and wanted to ask Mira about them.
But he also happened to realize that, Mira was not even looking at him for all that time. Her sole attention was gathered on the boy by her side, as both of them walked toward him.
"Junior Mira! Good morning, also Junior Alicia too. I am happy to meet both of you on this occasion. Given I was here to ask Madam Ermine for a inscribe. So, I was thinking if both the junior sister has any good ideas for me."
Not giving up Kai tried to strike up a conversation with Mira and Alicia, where Jun also looked at them surprised.
At which, Mira nodded her head and told Jun about how her research includes the special elemental move called [ability].
"That's really cool!" Jun looked at Mira more surprised at which, it was the first time that he saw her smile more clearly as she looked at Jun.]
"Oh!"
"Wow!"
"Eh!"
"Hmm!"
"That is!" Alicia went silent, as she looked at her sister smiling like that. Even for her, it was a very rare sight to behold.
But when Mira realized everyone looking at her, she stopped and turned away. except for Jun, who was still looking at her with the same look as before.
Except for a tiny smile on his face.
"It is not that big of a thing, to begin with," Mira spoke to Jun grumbly, at which Jun started to ask more questions about her research.
Where Mira was happy enough to talk with him about, ignoring others just like that. Ermine coughed and looked at Kai.
"So, have you already decided on what to do." Ermine's voice was not small, the authority behind it made Kai look back at her.
On the other hand, she smiled at Jun, Alicia, and Mira to wait for her on the other side where the butler was waiting for them.
Jun and the other girls walked over to sit, where the boy named Kai was looking to and fro at them and Aunt Ermine.
"Haha! Lady Ermine sure is strict, but don't worry we do not have any intention of asking without any payment. If lady Mira is willing to help, we had a specific item that increases flame attribute monster control a bit more."
Jun took a peek at the item, which looked like a flaming feather that has purple, green, and orange color flame within them.
Ashflame 'hmph.' without saying anything at the thing.
Where Jun felt that there was a change in Ashflame feelings, so he took note of that while looking at the feather.
But inside his mind, he was thinking about the reason why? Ashflame reacted like that. She seemed to be a bit angry about that feather, whereas Mira also looked a little angry at that.
Which was something very hard to notice, but he was able to see that clearly.
'Ashflame! Why are you angry about that feather! At least tell me the reason behind it. Given, Mira also looked quite angry about that feather thing.'
When Jun felt that he had no other choice, he decided to ask Ashflame about where he stared at the boy named Kai.
Where at first, there was no sign of an answer coming from Ashflame.
But as he waited for a few minutes, he heard Ashflame starting to speak from his mind.
'That thing is like the life energy of a fire-type flying monster. Normally after getting killed, the flame on the feather would disappear. But that thing is still burning like its prime condition, that clearly means one thing, that the bird of this feather is still alive.'
At first, Jun has a hard time understanding why they were so angry even after listening to it.
When he realized that, the feather was burning because it was still connected to the monster in some manner.
And if the energy from flame would be devoured by other monsters.
It will be an experience of getting sucked dry by other living things even though the thing is alive.
Thinking all that, even Jun was getting angry at it as he walked out of the place. Mira follows suit, while Alicia stays there as she continued to observe the aunt.
Ermine was shaking her head, as she looked at the gift smiling she turn it down.
Without any hesitation, given even she was not that maniac enough, to try sucking something of a living bird like that.
"Look I appreciate you should such trust in us! But Mira would never accept a gift like that. To the point, she has already left this place you know."
Pointing at the side, where Kai and his father turned to look at the bench where only Alicia was sitting down.
While Mira and Jun were absent from the sight, making them sight together as they bitterly smiled at each other.
"Uncle! I can help Kai, but for that, I don't want just that feather, I want the bird monster whose feather it is. Only then I will be happy to help out him."
