Chapter 2: Who are you?
"This is The Beginning", I say with a smirk.
I slide off of the large rock and land on the grass. I look around and all I see is forest.
I look down and realise that the ground is closer than normal.
My focus changes to my hands and I come to the conclusion that I am... in the body of a child.
I'm immediately annoyed at the fact that the body I've been transferred to is at the weakest possible point. As I assess the body, I estimate that I am around 8 and 11 years old.
I take a breath."Calm down. 1st thing's 1st. Let me test out this <Appraise> skill", I think to myself."By it's name alone it seems like something that can be really useful."
I bend down, pick up a blade of grass and look at it for a bit."So how do I activate the skill?", I ask myself."Do I have to say '<appraise>' or something?".
In that moment a game-like status window appears next to the grass.

"Eh???", I stare blankly for a bit."Hold on", I think to myself as shake my head a bit. "Maybe I need to clear my head a bit.
I look at a tree bark that's next to me and say:"<Appraise>"
The status window appears once again.

I bite my lip in frustration. "Well no fucking shit...", I say in a sarcastic tone.
I decide to try again, but this time with a leaf that had just glid past my eyes.
<Leaf>

[3rd Person]
Chaz in a fit of rage yells:"AARGH. THIS IS FUCKING USELESS!!!"
He swings his fist to backfist punch the rock which was behind him.x
He strikes it, producing a soft tapping sound. Chaz doesn't realise that it feels like he hit a cushion.
The rock starts moving. Chaz slowly turns his head and looks behind him, to see a huge boar almost 2 times his height and multiple times his weight class looking down on him in anger.
"Shit... Y-you're a n-nice boar right?", he stutters with a scared chuckle(Insert I'm in danger meme here.lol)
A status window appears next to the boar's face

Chaz is annoyed by the terribly timed appearance of this useless information, but he can't focus on that right now.
He immediately starts running for his life.
He sprints through the forest for a some time with the boar hot on his tail. Chaz had made no turns whatsoever. only the occassional shimmy to increase the gap between them-albeit temporarily. He Moves his little legs with short strides at incredible speed to just stay away from the the boar, but not enough to outrun it.
It's the adrenaline keeping him alive. In a normal situation he would have been flattened minutes prior because the boar is both faster and has greater stamina, but Chaz doesn't realise that he's been sprinting for a good 3 minutes, how fast he has been running nor the fact that he was about to collapse from exhaustion.
He is just running to survive.
He suddenly notices a person in the distance with his back facing Chaz and the boar. He has a light shining ahead of him. Almost as if there was no more forest, hell, there probably isn't even any ground.
Chaz is in a perilous situation right now, so he doesn't notice and runs toward the person, shouting:"HEEELLLP MEEEE!!"
The person is surprised when the 1st thing he sees when he turns around is a person being chased by an animal. He is dumbfounded for a second, but immediately develops a determined stone-like face and takes on a fighting stance.
Chaz runs past the person. The person collides with the boar head on behind him. He stops the boar for a few seconds, allowing Chaz to open a gap.
The boar boar produces a violent and powerful swing of its head that sends this person flying in the air so high, he goes over Chaz and down a hill that Chaz hadn't noticed was ahead of him.
Chaz is able to slow down and stops for a second at the edge of the hill and looks back only to see the boar is still charging relentlessly at him.
Chaz wastes no time and tries running down, but the hill is too steep and he is moving very fast. His tiny legs can't regain his centre of gravity. So he trips, hitting the side of the hill with a "THUD", before rolling down the rest of the way.
The hill is about 20m high and Chaz rolled down a good 10m.
Chaz reached the bottom laying on his back. He looked up at the hill and was surprised at how he was still conscious, heck, even how he's still alive is a shocker.
Chaz looks up to the summit of the hill and sees the boar looking down at him. It turned back, almost like it had given up, or Chaz had left it's territory.
"Hehe, you better run...Ouch", Chaz says as he feels his entire body and muscles ache for a short while.
He turns his head to the side and sees the person running toward him. Dressed in black denim overalls, a long white shirt with very old looking shoes. The hair on his head curly and black and his body with yellowish skin.
He looks like what is called 'mixed race' back on earth.
"Don't worry, I'm Alright", Chaz says dazed
The person grabs him by the collar and says angrily:"What were you thinking!? You could've been killed!"
This gesture had distacted Chaz from his pain allowing him to stand up.
"I'm so sorry, you got hurt because of me.", Chaz says with guilt in his heart.
The person says:"Me?Hurt?By that thing?I'm very durable if you must know. Gogogo", he says letting out a unique and cute laugh.
As expected of the One Piece world.
Chaz takes a look at the person and realises that he is a child only slightly taller than he is and has a really matured face. "He looks around 12 or 13", Chaz thinks to himself.
"Anyway, you must be really tired, especially after being chased by a boar", he says while scrutinising Chaz's body which looks like It's suffering from the fall.
"Come on.", he says while gesturing for Chaz to follow him.
Chaz follows the boy for a few minutes and they arrive at a small water hole."You can have a drink, it's quite refreshing", he says with a smile.
"Thank you", Chaz replies
He kneels down by the water and just as he is about to put his hands in the water, he sees his reflection and notices that it's his face, and it's him from when he was around 10 or 11 years old back on Earth, before The Incident that gave him a large scar that ran down his right thigh.
He has light brown skin with knappy black hair. He has a cute chubby face that exuberates youth.
He is dressed in a plain white t-shirt and a pair of jean shorts with flip flops.
In awe, Chaz starts feeling his face. He'd thought that he would transmigrate into a different body, but no, it's his own.
The boy looks at him looking a bit confused. Chaz doesn't notice because he was too focused on the information he'd just learned
[1st Person]
"This is me, from 7 years ago? So I was transfered to this world as myself 7 years younger?", I think to myself
"Are you alright?", the boy asks me pretty concerned.
"Y-yes, I'm fine", I stutter and start drinking the water.
When I'm done drinking water, I go and sit across the boy on the grass.
"You must have been really tired, you drank a lot of water.",he says."It's not a surprise though. You did just have a foot race with a wild beast, heh."
"Anyway, Who are you?", he asks."I've never seen you in York Village before, are you from the York Port City?"
I'm kind of overwhelmed by the question. Although I knew I'd be asked sooner or later, I didn't expect it to be as soon as I got here. I haven't had time to think of a story.
I guess I'll have to wing it.
"Are you not going to answer?", he asks.
"No, No, I will, haha", I say with nervous laughter.
"Well, I-I actually don't know where I come from, but I do know that my name is... Rolan D. Chaz(Straight faced lie.lol)", I say.
The boy seems kind of intrigued and says:"ReallyR That's so cool. You also have a 'D.' in your name just like someone I know. Do you know what it means though?"
"Uh, actually I have no idea." I say while scratching my head.
Someone else with a 'D.' in their name? That wasn't prevalent in the original story? This will be quite interesting.
"Anyway, I'm Johansen Oliver by the way. You can call me Oliver. I'm the son of the local Blacksmith of the York Village." He says with a smile.
Oliver looks at the sky and is suddenly shaken.
"Oh my, It's getting late and dad said for me to get home before dark.", he says.
"You want to come with me to the village?", Oliver asks with a warm smile.
"Sure.", I reply.
"Then we better get moving", he says while he stands up and starts walking with haste as I follow suit.
{10 minutes later}
After walking on a dirt path for a few minutes, we are up on a hill.
I look down and noticed a cute little farming village in the distance with cottages and buildings to the right side and some reasonably sized farmlands neatly arranged in a rectangular shape to to the left side.
The village is in the middle of a large open space with open fields of green grass around it.
"This is my home, welcome to York Village.", he says with a smile.
We continue to walk on the path down the until we reach the village entrance.
"Im guessing this is going to be my 'Starter town'? It's not bad. In fact, it looks quite perfect for training." I think to myself with a smile
