Chapter 35: Hate your own father

"You don't need to be thankful. If I had confessed my feelings to you before Mathieu did, you would not have seen all those things," Édouard stated.

Charlotte could feel the love for her in his eyes. She never saw such strong emotions for herself in Mathieu's eyes.

Why did she start to admire Édouard so much? It wasn't after she heard Édouard and Rainard speaking. She was confident that the reason was different.

"Let's finish the pie soon. We need to go out," Édouard said. They both soon finished their breakfast. Charlotte went to the dressing room to bring her hat. She wore it and looked at herself in the mirror.

"That's perfect," Édouard said while leaning against the door.

"Do you think so?" Charlotte asked.

"Hmm."

Charlotte kept that hat on and asked him if they would ride the horses. "Last time I rode the horse was three months ago," she said and walked out of the dressing room. Édouard went after her.
