Brittany groaned and covered her face with her hands. What was she thinking when she had told Seth how she felt?

"... I've always been the one helping myself" Seth said and looked at her. "Come to think of it, why do you want to help me?" he asked and she fiddled with her sweater. Many reasons ran through her head; Because she felt bad that he never had anyone to lean on, because she liked him, because she wanted him to feel less lonely, because she loved him, because she did not want Horus to die, because she was in love with him.

I want you to lean on me and trust me".
Seth just kept on staring at her. What was he supposed to say? That's what they always say and then they end up kissing your archenemy, he thought as he remembered the sweet things Sam had said when they were still dating.
"Brittany, I...I...I only see you as a friend" he said and her heart fell. "You're great, pretty and hot and I don't think you should waste your time on someone like me" "You don't get to decide that! I'm the one wasting the time. It's my time and not yours and I want to waste it on you" Brittany said with tears. "Well keep on wasting it but I'm not going to accept whatever feelings you have for me!"
"Whatever feelings?" she asked tearfully. He had just disregarded her feelings. "I don't want what we have going on to change. I really like you as my friend...and I don't want that to change" he said and got up then he was walking away but she stood up and called out, "After this, you think it won't change?" he stopped and looked back, "I hope it won't change" he said and continued walking.
Brittany called out again, "You may see me as a friend but I don't think I can ever see you as just a friend because I like you...even if you don't like me back". He didn't stop walking this time around.
Brittany sank to the ground and buried her face in her knees and she cried.

"Why did I say that cringey stuff?" she groaned again and removed her hands from her face. "I thought he liked me too, or was I reading the signs wrongly? I mean what was the hickey for? And the kiss? Oh wait! I kissed him. He didn't kiss me back" she said and held her hair, "I should have noticed. How will I face him?" she soliloquized.
"Brittany!" Maddie said excitedly as she sat close to her, "What's up?" Brittany said dully "What's wrong with you? You're back as the most popular girl in school, Jake is still trying to win you back and you've got Damian" Maddie said and Brittany sighed, "Before you and Ken started dating, who confessed?"
"Why are you asking? I'm obviously not seeing him" Maddie said nervously and Brittany narrowed her eyes at her, "Just answer the question" "He did and since I felt the same way, I told him I felt the same" "Uh-huh!" Brittany said thoughtfully. "Did Damian ask you out?" Maddie asked. Damian! Perfect distraction! Brittany thought then she got up and left to find Damian.

"So you rejected her straight up?" Zed asked as he sipped his hot chocolate "Yup!" Seth said as he played with his milkshake. "Why? I thought you liked her" "I do!" "So why?" "I don't know. I guess I panicked. It was all of a sudden. I was only apologizing but then she said she liked me" Seth said and sipped his milkshake.
"You, my friend, are the dumbest fool I've ever seen" Zed said and gulped down his hot chocolate. "That insult just ruined my appetite" Seth said and pushed his milkshake away then Zed dropped some dollar bills on the table and they left.
Seth and Zed came out of the diner and stretched, "So I just realized that we have been ditching seriously. Our grades can get affected" Zed said and Seth smirked, "Don't worry, I'll tutor you" he said and looked at the opposite direction. His face flared up.
Brittany was walking with Damian and she was giggling at whatever he had said. "What the fuck?!" Seth cussed angrily and Zed looked at what he was looking at, "Oh! It's Brittany...and she's with that other guy" Zed said and Seth glared at him, "Thanks Captain Obvious!" he said and was about crossing the road but Zed held him, "Where are you going? You rejected her and now you don't want her to be with someone else".
Seth heard more giggling then he saw them getting into Brittany's red convertible. "That's not what I'm doing. I'm just making sure she doesn't get hurt" Seth said and looked at Zed, "Your keys!"

"How come you don't have a car Damian?" Brittany asked Damian as she took a turn. "You are a good driver so you can't tell me that you don't have your driver's license" she said "I do have my driver's license. It's just that my dad doesn't want me to get a car till college. That's the law in our home; no car till college. Lizzie tried to break the law but my dad told her that if anything happens to that car, he won't do anything about it and everyone knows that Lizzie is a reckless driver" he said.
"Well thank God that I'm a good driver and my dad is not like yours" Brittany said and bit her lip. Damian had noticed that she always did that whenever she was concentrating. Does Seth know that? Hah! he thought and did a happy dance in his head.
"Why are you grinning like you just won a lottery?" she asked and he looked at her, cos I just did, he thought. His grin widened and she smiled back, "Seriously why are you smiling?" "Last time I checked, smiling wasn't a crime" he laughed then she started laughing too. "Stop!" she laughed as she hit his arm.
"Wow! Skinship?" Seth laughed sarcastically and continued looking at Brittany and Damian through the binoculars. "You are one creepy stalker" Zed scoffed and Seth glared at him then he looked back into the binoculars, "She said she liked me but she's with another dude. Unbelievable!" "In her defense, you rejected her" Zed said and Seth looked at him, "Why are you defending her? I thought you said she was bitchy" "I thought Taylor was bitchy too but look! We're dating!" "Finally! No more 'friends with benefits' shit" Seth said and looked through the binoculars.
"Brittany, that car has been following us since" Damian said and Brittany looked at her side-view mirror and saw a black truck behind them. The first thing that came to her mind was that Yogi and his goons were in there and they were tailing her.
"Shit!" her and her conscience said and she changed up and stepped on the accelerator, "Hold on to your horses Damian!" she said and the car went faster.
"Shit! They must have noticed that we were following them!" Seth said and Zed sped up.
Brittany swerved left and Zed followed. She swerved right and he followed too. She accelerated and took a sharp turn. "Woah! That was dangerous. Can you swerve like that Zed?" Seth asked and Zed smirked, "Only one way to find out" then he changed up and pressed down on the accelerator and took the turn.
Damian looked back and saw the black truck still following them. "How does one big vehicle move so fast?" he asked and Brittany tsked, "Maybe it's because they are a bunch of criminals being led by a kid who is supposed to be in middle school!"

Yogi sneezed as accidentally he dropped a joker card on the table, is someone talking about me? he thought.
"Boss, you alright?" Ralph asked and Yogi nodded. "Boss, you lose" a huge guy with lots of tattoos on his arms said as he stuck out his tongue. "What?!" Yogi said and looked at the cards on the table. The joker stared menacingly at him. "Shit!" he said as he pushed the cards off the table.
He snapped his fingers and Ralph handed him a hair tie then he packed his long hair into a bun and glared at the huge guys opposite him, "Let's play again!"

"Wow! I never knew Brittany was good at driving" Seth said as he munched on chips. "You're eating in this situation?" Zed asked and Seth looked at him with an obvious look. "If anything happens to my car, it's your ass!" Zed warned and sped up.
Brittany looked at side-view mirror. The truck was right behind her. "Damnit!" she swore as she clenched the steering wheel tighter, "What are we going to do?" Damian asked and she ran her fingers through her hair, "We fight!" she said and suddenly stepped on the brakes.
"Woah! Woah!" Seth and Zed screamed as Zed immediately stomped on the brakes to make sure his truck did not hit Brittany's posh car. He had no money whatsoever to pay for the damage.
Before they could recover from the shock, Brittany and Damian had gotten down from the car and she was marching furiously towards them.
"Shit! What should we do?" Seth panicked "This is your fault! You said she was a black belt in karate and taekwondo, right?" Zed asked and Seth nodded. "We're fucked!" Zed concluded as Brittany knocked on the car window.
"Seth?" she said surprised as Seth rolled down the window.

Seth sat opposite Brittany with his head bent down in shame and his hands clutched together.
Brittany ran her fingers through her hair, "Why were you following me?" she asked but he didn't answer.
"So...you and Brittany, huh?" Zed teased and Damian flushed brightly, "We're just friends" he said shyly. "But you wanna be more" "Ummm..." Damian said as he fiddled with his thumb. "Chill dude! I'm just messing with you" Zed chuckled and Damian chuckled too.
Seth looked over at the table where Zed and Damian were chuckling then he glared at Zed who just shrugged. Damian made the mistake of looking at Seth because if looks could kill, Damian would have been cremated and have gone to the afterlife.
Brittany looked at where he was looking at and saw Damian looking timidly at Seth then he noticed her looking at him and he smiled. She waved and looked back at Seth, "Are you jealous?" she smirked and he looked back at her abruptly, "Jealous? Who? Me?" he chuckled and gulped down his drink.
"Yes you! Why are you glaring at Damian?" Brittany smirked and Seth shrugged, "I can do whatever I want with my eyes" he said and she clenched her fist slightly. "Anyway! Why were you following me? I thought you were Yogi and his goons!"
Brittany was expecting a 'Cos I love you dammit! And I want to keep you for myself' kind of response but Seth just sat there with the cup in his hands.
