Chapter 18: Griffin
"So you know how to manage time, Luci," he said, making me smile. "Especially since you're going to college," he said, making me smile even more because Kuya Lucian knows I have difficulty managing time.
"Thank you, Luci." I said, using his nickname. He used to call me Luci, so I also called him that. After all, it fits our names. We almost have the same four letters in our name.
He groaned at what I had said. He put his hand on my hair and riffled it. "It's Kuya Lucian for you, Lucila." he corrected, but I smiled. He shook his head, so I could not stop my laughter.
He wants me to call him Kuya because he is four years older than me. But since I like him, I will never call him that again.
"Go home safely," I said and turned away from him after kissing his cheek. He shook his head but smiled and just waved at me.
After entering the house, I couldn't help but be thrilled. He's really sweet! Lucky for the girl he will love. I wish it was just me.
We just had dinner at our house as a celebration of my graduation. Luciana and Lucian went home with a few close friends. Their cousin congratulated me and gave me a gift; I received one from Phoenix, Samuel, Caiden, Nixon, and Kuya Fausto. Even Marcus, Phoenix's cousin, greeted me with a gift.
Months passed. We enrolled in the school where Kuya Lucian studies. They let Lucian study there so they could watch Luciana and me. I didn't complain because I really liked it more. I will often see and be with Lucian babe because of that.
During the first week of school, there is not much to do. My friends and I have the opportunity to go around the whole school and wander around.
It is an exclusive school, so most students here are wealthy and show off how powerful they are. Sadly, some people only look for being on top rather than kind.
The people who looked at us with admiration and envy could not be avoided immediately, especially since they knew that Luciana was a Griffin. They want to be friends with us since they want to be closed with Luciana's brother and cousins.
We already have friends and acquaintances. We made new friends, but we still can't say they are real friends, so we prefer the five of us to still be together. After all, we don't fully trust the motives of other girls since we are related to Griffin, so they hope to be noticed by making us their friends. We don't like friends to be used as an excuse to flirt with the Griffins.
I can't agree to be used only for personal interest. And I will not allow anyone very close to our Kuyas. They deserve better women.
Some boys are interested in us, but no one dares to approach us yet because they know that we are connected to the Griffins, and everyone who studies at the school knows them. They are just afraid to mess with the Griffins.
I took Civil Engineering partially because of Lucian and because I love creating and designing. Even though, at first, dad was not in favor because our business was not focused on that; still, that's what I took. I am grateful because daddy supported me.
"How was the first week of class?" Lucian asked when we met at their house. Luciana and I just finished shopping with Tita Arcelia, Luciana's mommy. Tita is very kind and considerate. She's lovely, and she's like a mother to me. I am very thankful that Tita Arcelia treats me like her daughter. I hope that one day, I will be her daughter-in-law.
I know it's still early to dream about that, but I cannot help it. I really want to be with Lucian.
Sunday and no school today, so Luciana, Lucian, and I had a chance to spend the day together. Lucian will be busy in the next few weeks because they are graduating.
Like before, I still go to Luciana, especially when she's not that busy at school. Even though we have different schedules, we still have time for each other.
"You are so well-known at school, brother, that the profs are asking about you. And even girls on campus want to get information about you. They just want to be friends with us just for the sake of your attention." Luciana replied, and I agreed.
That's exactly what we noticed. The male Griffins are all very popular.
I took some chips and ate them before speaking. "And the serious thing is that almost all the girls know you very well. I even heard they are okay with a fling as long as they can experience being with you." I snorted.
I cannot help but be possessive of the Griffins!
Some women on campus cannot stop talking about the Griffins, especially the playboys, Lucian and Phoenix. They are also friends with Marcus and Ram, who are playboys too. Marcus Dela Forte is Phoenix's cousin on his mother's side, while Ram is Lucian's best friend.
The four of them really love to play with fire. I mean, there was no day they had no girl beside them.
Aside from Griffins, women also adore Lucian's group of friends. They are a bunch of handsome men, Ram, Michael, Wiro, and Crisostomo. Michael is a friendly and gentlemanly kind of guy. He wants to be a doctor, so he's taking up medicine. Wiro is the snob one, but kind too. He's taking up business administration. Even though Crisostomo seems so strict, he's a nice guy taking up the law. Actually, Cris and Michael have girlfriends now, but it doesn't even change the fact that women on campus still dream about them.
And I know there is something between Marcus and Celeste, Caiden's sister. Still, Marcus is struggling to win Celeste's heart because of his reputation with women. I hope Caiden will allow him. Caiden is still a bit strict and protective of her sister. By the way, Caiden is taking up criminology. That handsome snob wants to be a police officer.
"You are too young to understand us," Lucian said while laughing mischievously. He was already caught for being a playboy but trying to deny it. We already know their reputation.
I know I should be discouraged by this, but I cannot help but be blinded by his flaws. Maybe that is how you regard when you are in love.
