Chapter 4: Pixel J. Meridian
The old man suppressed the sudden urge to garchu and spoil his granddaughter that had came over him and revealed a small smile. "It seems that your mother was right, you are talented. Maybe there might even be more than meets the eye to you, though that is just my gut feeling."
Part of it was his gut feeling but he could also feel a strangeness to the child's body as their Electro met, it was as if the baby had been quite empty and had a little bit of energy but he could feel a light attracting force within her body with brought his power within his body which made him quite curious.
Although he did not know the specifics, he determined that she had an unknown future potential and she was worth nurturing but in fact, it was Pikachu's natural ability to build up her electrical power and charge herself up like a battery.
Upon being born, her power was still quite low but upon receiving many garchus from her mother and the others which created a bit of static so she had built up a little more power to fill up her small body while the power of the old man was like a delicacy for her.
She predicted that once she starts growing or training her body to make it stronger then she would be able to store a larger amount but none of that mattered since the old man who was her current foe had not been affected by her own Electro that was released on her cheek as she used the move Nuzzle so she was forced to admit defeat and hope that the move Charm works on the old man.
The foe.. or the old lynx mink was attacked by her electrified cheeks as she nuzzled them against him which was supposed to leave a paralysing effect but the attack had been ineffective but charm was super effective.
Little did she know was that the old man was feeling somewhat excited but also regretful that she had been born into their family where she would only face discrimination and not be able to achieve anything for herself unless she goes out and achieves it away from the family.
He was growing rather fond of her the more time that he spent but he shook his head and cleared his mind a little as he thought. 'No.. I have to remain impartial. I cannot have a favourite and must not be having such thoughts.'
He had been weighed down by his responsibilities too and had to deal with family members throwing the rules in his face daily, if one mistake was made on his part or he chose to ignore or break one of them then those that followed would start to break the rules too which would result in more disorder within the family as it becomes less lawless.
He continued to stroke her cheek and fed her with a little Electro as he continued to study her a little. "I spoke to your mother and she has given you a name, from now on you will be called Pixel J. Meridian. You can call me grandfather in the future and you will have a right to the resources of the family as agreed upon. Although you would not be able to understand me yet or I have some feeling that you might… my advice is that you should grow strong if you wish to not be bullied in the future."
Pixel had siphoned off small traces of the Electro on the old man's finger and absorbed it into her body a little at a time as she made it her own and gained control of it while the old man stopped talking and then turned his back on her as he left the room.
She fell into a deep sleep but as she was sleeping, the old man sent word for his assistant to come to him and then said. "I want to send a shadow guard to protect each of the children that have been born and the ones that have not been born yet."
"Yes family head, you are so wise!"
As the assistant left, he scratched his head. 'Have I been possessed? I do not remember being this swayed by my emotions… I guess that this is just the feeling of being a grandfather. But this will help her a little while showing that I am not playing favourites to those watching.'
His intent was to provide her with some kind of protection to allow her to grow and let him see her full potential but it was also because he had affection for her but he could not so easily show favouritism among the grandchildren so he had made it look like he was becoming more strict and protective over each of the children.
After her mother had shown signs of recovery, she kept using her Charm, Play Nice and Sweet Kiss to gain her mothers affection as she gained more Garchu's as she continued to gain more Electro within her body but to also increase her time spent with her new doting mother.

dancematdan If you happen to be wondering if the J in the name has any special meaning, it is J for the Joule measurement of energy. I originally was going to call her Pixel or Joule but I found a comprimise as Pixel J. Meridian Or Pixel Joule Meridian. She inherits the middle name from her mother while she gains the main families official surname.
