Chapter 34: Underlords 3!!! This time in space 1
Skavens were surprised at how quickly Orks could improve their weapons so they intensified their efforts of exterminating the local Orc populace, but it wasn`t going well for them. They were in a slump. So they decided to just blow everything up and get rid of everything in tens of kilometers. They immediately went to digging under the Ork tunnel effectively creating a big under tunnel with a giant chamber that was straight under the Ork mountain.
Doomsphere as this is what they were building was not just a normal Doomsphere, it was the biggest Doomsphere that would be created in existence. It required a lot of warp stone and a lot of other explosive materials. This project was supposed to be kept a secret from Orcs at all costs which was rather hard as some bored Orks would dig side tunnels to bypass the direct cannon fire and get into the fight. There was a danger that one group would dig down and discover but it wouldn`t be a problem as a massive security force would kill all intruders.
But if something can go wrong, something will go wrong. I group of lootaboyz found the big pile of shiny green rocks and explosives, and just as their name implies decided to loot, but they had several issues. Mainly there were loots of guards, so they had to sneak, to do that they needed some sneaky boyz, later on they got a Mek to make their carts for more accessible transportation of loot.
Overall there were 11 orks on this mission, and they were getting good at it. One day they even managed to loot everything the Skaven brought. At some point, this arouse Scaven suspicions but they quickly dismissed it thinking it was one of the clans stealing the supplies, which was also true but not on such a scale.
In the end, all good times have to end. For loot boyz, it ended because Boss had to be informed at some point about the giant kaboom cave under his mountain. He was not amused with this so he ordered his boyz to charge inside the cave and take over the whole loot. So he ordered his boyz to fire new canon as much as they could and charge the Skaven thru the main tunnel. Meanwhile, other boyz were supposed to attack the Doomsphere and take control of that cave.
Plan was good, but Skaven thought of such a possibility. What is one 1 million skaven in the grand scheme of things? It's less than a year of work for Skaven brood mothers. So when Orks appeared in the near vicinity of doom sphere they lit the fuse and exploded Ork Mountain and lots of other nearby mountains. It all happened due to a chain reaction from the main chamber. Leftover explosives and warp crystals were left in the tunnels used to carry explosives. They exploded too and like a domino, they were exploding until they reached warehouses of skaven city.
After few moments of tremors and ground shaking Boss was finally able to stand up – Zog, that was a roufgh roide. Who da zog shoke da grund. Now where were we? Oh, roight wez were supposed to charge un more toim da big rats.
One Ork raised his arm and asked a question – Boss aint it chilly in ere? I zogging mean, I can feel da wind on me hairsquig. – He pointed at his hair squig shaped into Mohawk.
Da Boss stood still for a moment – Zoging ell, you are roight! I can feel da wind on me dome.
Then and Ork came running from the direction of the main cave screaming something about disappearing ground. Boss already not in the mood for foight ordered small Ork to show him what was happening. So they went to the stony gates where they first entered the mountain and there instead of mountains and ravine was vast blackness of space and blue planet disappearing in the distance.
There was only one thing Orks smart as Da Boss could say. – Oh, Zog!
