Chapter 20: Well, Isn’t She Interesting?

Lisa shook as she gazed at the man before her. "Yo-you...It-its you."

She stuttered in disbelief, and the young man walked even closer to her.

His grey eyes gazed into hers and he took his mask off, revealing a face that Lisa had never glimpsed before.

No, a face she never believed could exist in this world.

Was she hallucinating or what? because the man before her looked so unreal.

She never thought a man could have a beauty that even a woman couldn't match up to.

Heavy breaths secretly exited her nose and she lowered her head, unable to look into his eyes for fear she might have nosebleeds. "Wha-what do you want?"

She inquired, and the young man smirked. He gently grabbed her chin with the tip of his finger and slowly lifted her head to have her look at him.

"Did you... call me a douchebag or not?" He asked the same question he had asked her in the elevator, and Lisa gazed at him, unable to utter a word.

hypnotized? Yes, she was hypnotized!

It's like she could feel her heart beating to the rhythm of his voice.

"Your heart beats so fast. Is that normal for you?"

He abruptly asked, snapping her out of her daze.

"No! I mean, yes! No no! Gosh, what do you want from me?"

She questioned him in a bit of a stressed tone, and he arched his brow at her.

"I asked you a question. I hate liars and I know that you lied to me inside of that elevator, so tell me the truth. Did you call me a douchebag or not?"

He asked with utter seriousness in his tone and, completely appalled by this, Lisa harshly pushed him away and glared at him.

"Jeez, since you are so sure that I called you a douchebag, then why are you asking?!! And so what if I called you a douchebag? Are you going to kill me or what?"

She asked with a deep annoyance in her tone, and the young man tilted his head to one side.

He scrutinized her from head to toe and a wide smile ensued on her face.

"You never know. We are alone in this room after all."

He chuckled in a soft voice, and as though instantly hit by realization, Lisa's eyes widened and she hurried to the door.

She turned its handle to pull the door open, but because it was locked, she found herself unable to.

She slowly turned around and her eyes fell on the young man's smile-filled face.

"Why are you smiling?" She growled at him, but instead of answering her, he walked to the couch and she sat down.

He crossed his legs and spread his arms. "You're quite interesting."

He fixed his gaze on her, and Lisa narrowed her eyes at him.

"How come you are in this room? It can't be a coincidence that I met a man I saw in the elevator inside a room that I thought was the restroom!! And not just that, he even began to question if I called him a douchebag!"

She arrived before him and leaned down to get her face closer to his.

She gazed at him suspiciously, and the young man abruptly broke into a chuckle.

"It is not a coincidence. You are right."

He shrugged and the urge to strangle him overwhelmed her.

"All this, just because I called you a douchebag?" She inquired, and his brows scrunched in thought.

"Hmm... I don't know either. But I just kind of found it offensive that you called me a douchebag even though I held the door for you. It's not the same with the others though. I would always just ignore them since they aren't up to my standards. Cough! not that anyone had ever called me a douchebag before, but you hmm..."

He slightly shook his head, and Lisa straightened up.

She looked at him for a moment, and without uttering a word, she turned around and walked to the door.

"Open it." She ordered with a serious expression on her face, and the young man, a bit surprised by her authoritative tone, arched his brows.

He stood up from the couch and walked towards her, then leaned down a bit, so his mouth was close to her ears.

"Frostbite, don't use such an authoritative tone on me. Like I told you, I can end your life in a matter of seconds, so do be careful with me."

He drew back with a grin on his face, and Lisa scoffed at him.

She turned the door handle and completely surprised as it was no longer locked, she glanced at the young man with an annoyance on her face.

"Humph!" She pushed the door open, but before leaving, she halted and turned around to look at him.

"You know what?"

"What?"

"You deserve to be called a douchebag. Maybe I didn't think so before, but I totally think so now!"

She smiled haughtily at him and walked away before the young man could give a response.

"Well, isn't she interesting?" A soft, sweet chuckle exited his throat and he shut the door behind him.
