Chapter 2: Chapter Two: The Assignment
Well finding a murderer wasn't an easy task but Adam was determined to find answers to his question, he wants to meet the illusionist, and probably go back to where he truly belongs. He never felt among anyway. He was in a deadly ghetto but he had to leave after hours of fruitless search and he returned back to the balcony in his house to meet the thief then he sat. He could see that he has been crying, "it is dark already, are you ready to tell me the reason why you steal ", Adam asked with coldness in his voice
"Please sir let me go, I was hungry and that was why I stole", the thief cried pleading
"I will, once I know the reason why you steal ", Adam said looking at him
"I was hungry, I had nothing to eat. No one was willing to help me, I have to eat", he cried harder
"You stole because you were hungry, but you could have chose to die because of hunger. But you decided to steal. That is not a reason enough for me ", Adam said coldly with aura of darkness in his voice and this sent fear to the thief. Adam left him there and went to sleep.
Adam was sleeping when a hand touched him, a woman. He woke up but couldn't see her face, "who are you? ", he said looking at her. She remained silent and withdrew back into the darkness beckoning on him to come with her, he stood up basically to unravel who was under the cloak but before he got to her they both fell into a dark hole beneath them. He woke up from his nightmare sweating profusely, he always have this nightmare of strange woman beckoning on him to come, after agitating he slept back.
Dressed in a black hoodie and black jean with his black sneakers, he walked through the ghetto looking around hoping to see someone committing a murder but he kept walking until he came across a gang bullying a young man and he stood at a reasonable distance to observe the scenario. They were in a remote place and the victim was on his kneels pleading, "you said you were the boss now, why are you begging me? ", the huge man who is the gang leader said with a smirk. Adam stood with rapt attention only interested in one of them gunning another down,
"You are my boss, please spare my life ", the young man pleaded but the gang were having none of it as the boss shot two bloodthirsty bullet through their victim's chest and they were happy as the helpless lifeless body dropped to the ground. They noticed Adam staring and the gang boss now murderer decided to play another game so he ordered his boys to fetch him the intruder and they did as they were instructed and made Adam kneel before the boss, the murderer touched Adam and 'puff' they vanished and the boys scattered around.
He appeared in his balcony with the murderer tied to a chair opposite the almost lifeless body of the thief. The fear was visible on the murderer face but he was able stutter out his question, "please sir what did I do? ", he asked and his remark and mood swing only made Adam laugh hard, the laugh was filled with darkness, it sent fear to his visitors as they stared at him in awe
"Few minutes ago I was kneeling before you, how am I boss? ", Adam smirked at him, "well I don't care what you are up to but just answer my question and be free", Adam said as he sat down on his rocky chair looking at the murderer,
"What question boss?, ask anything boss", the murderer said hoping to leave soon
" Why do you kill? ", Adam asked and the question hit the murderer like a stray bullet and he looked dumbfounded
"I don't understand your question sir", the murderer said looking at Adam
"You do, why do you kill? ", Adam asked icily
"For revenge ", he said stuttering, "please forgive me, I don't know that guy was related to you", he pleaded and this made Adam laughed more
"You guys are making me laugh this days, am actually happy you killed the guy. Just answer my question, why did you killed the guy? ", he asked again
"I enjoy stealing ", the thief mumbled and Adam took interest in him leaving the murderer alone to face the thief
"You enjoy it you say, explain better ", Adam said staring at him
"I enjoyed it because it will suffice my hunger ", the thief mumbled looking at Adam then food appeared and his hands were set free, the thief guzzled down the food with a new found strength
"I also enjoy killing because I feel happy inside of me knowing I have taken down my challenger or enemy ", the murderer said then he vanished from there
"When You are done you will leave", Adam said simply to the thief before he made way to his room.
Adam sat on his bed wondering who he truly was, a demon?, a witch? What could he be? He knew what he does was more than just tricks. They were more like being supernatural but he could not understand then the strange man appeared still in his dress with his face still covered, "it seems you found the answers ", the man said with his usual but strange calm voice
"They enjoy it, they know it is a sin but the devil give them a reason to commit the sin, he makes it alluring so they won't be able to resist", Adam said and looked at the man trying to figure out his reaction
"Do You want to meet with the devil? ", the man asked in such a way that left Adam dumbfounded
"You will definitely meet him when you meet with his master", the man said withdrawing back into the darkness
