Chapter 2: II.

Here we were.

The place most feared of not fitting in and being bullied.

Arizona State University.

Many wondered why I grabbed a coat if Arizona was hot. But let's get one thing right. The classroom's we're freezing as hell.

It wasn't long before Sui took up a parking space - or two I should say in this case. Five minutes left till we would be pronounced late, and already Sui was taking his sweet time. I know I should do the same but honestly, missing or being tardy to class was on thing. I had a perfect attendance record.

Groaning impatiently, I swung the strap of my bag over and rushed in past the gates, heading straight to the door. Sui was slow, he could afford to be late but I couldn't. I was going off half a scholarship, unlike him who was born into a wealthy family already paid off his entire tuition, so he wouldn't get cut off out of the program. Not like I would, my scholarship would be gone and I'd have to leave. Father did the working so I couldn't just yet because I had to stay and take care of my mother.

Walking into the building, people swarmed everywhere. Not a single person was in class, and that relieved all my panic. Everyone looked at me like a mad person, but let me just say this. You don't know a mad person until they end up eating all the cafeteria food. Now that stuff was disgusting. Noticing Louise from the corner of my eyes, I turn and head towards her with a smile plastered to my face.

"Hey! What's going on? We're supposed to be in class." I fixed my bag, resting my folded coat over my arm.

"In fifteen minutes yeah. Did you forget?" The red haired girl questioned.

"Time switch." I mumble before mentally smacking the backside of my head. "That's why no one was in a hurry.."

Louise laughed and fixed her hair before staring over in a certain direction. Her attention towards the other side sparked my curiosity - and as noted I glanced over and there he was. All muscle bulged and lean. We exchanged glances, sharing a unique look best friends got with each other but then she gave.

"Us lesbians won't go straight for any guy." She teased, rolling her eyes. I did notice that her and Canle have been getting closer to each other. What cute couple they'd be. But for me, I couldn't stop trying to track him down when he got lost in the swarms of the people.

"You'll see him again, but for now let's go get our tables set up. I heard you and Sui we're going to be first up since it was a interesting choice." Louise smiled faintly, locking her arm through mine as if we were kids again.

While heading to the class room, we seen Mallory and Sui talking. He didn't look happy and she neither did she. She seemed more sad than she had anything. I wonder what he could possibly be saying to her to make her feel that way. From the distance we couldn't tell if that was the case, but, if it was we had to know. He didn't have a soul to break hearts, but if he did that would definitely be a big change to his demeanor.

Walking up the steps, the room began spinning causing me to stop and hold onto the railing. I grabbed the front of my head, pinching my pointer and thumb on the bridge of my nose. What was going on.

"Graye?" She questioned, placing a arm around me, her free hand going straight to my mid arm.

Taking my time, I nodded slightly in approval. Affirmation that I was ok. Slightly shrugging her off I regain my compsure standing up right I take in a few deep breaths, with a mild sharp pain. "I'm.. I'm fine. The wind just got knocked out of me."

Louise nodded, guiding me to the top of the stairs, helping me into the classroom. Mr. Laryix looked at us weird but didn't question. "Headache miss Arlow?"

"Yes.." I mumble.

Mr. Laryix offered another day we could do the presentation, but I declined, pulling myself together. For the rest of the ten minutes, I rested my eyes - and my head for that matter. Than along came the bell. I groaned and slowly sat up, Louise taking a seat to my left and Sui to my right - to which he was late.

I gave him a questioning graze whole mouthing, 'Mallory' but he just shrugged which made Louise elbow me with a questioning shrug. Something had to be going on with Sui to make him like this. Unless he just got tired of her demanding and whining. I know I did on the daily when they were dating. She had done anything and everything just to make my life a living hell.

As people finished showing up, Mr. laryix gave the summary for today, and excusing my headache he allowed others to represent their presentations first. I had to say my headache miled down a bit, but it came and it went throughout the speeches of many presentations. Some students would be making their speeches tomorrow. And tomorrow was a half day so everyone had to be quick on their feet just to get that A.

The talk about sirens; goblins, griffins, fairies, Medusa, vampires - it got kinda old. There were three people who talked pretty much about the same thing on the whole talk of vampires. And may I say that was hella annoying. There was maybe one werewolf. But where were the lycans? At least me and Sui made a casual appearance and hopefully an easy A. The lowest I'll accept is a B-.

The chill began to absorb my skin, causing me to finally pull the coat over my arms. And then, our names were called for our presentation. Sui grabbed our papers, as for I knew it by heart. He would read his parts, as I'd go over mine and click the next slide on the board. We headed down, and set everything up. While I continued to work on pulling our slides up, he started the introduction of the presentation.

Unfreezing the board, I click to the next slide, smiling faintly. Glancing over at Sui he nodded and I glanced at the board before looking at the students who sat intently watching with the 'amused' faces. When I scanned around. He was there. But for right now, crush's had to be put aside for the love of mine and Sui's grade.

"Here we are talking about the difference between werewolves and lycans. Many may think that there is no distributed difference. But in reality if you think about it...there is. Here in Greek mythology you may hear many - so much about werewolves correct?" People nodded, some saying yes, "well how about lycans? No? Right! Because they are so rarely ever heard of or spoken about on terms. As werewolf's can, lycans can shift as well. And rather transformations are rough. No one knows that for sure. Anywho, werewolf's are beasts that transform into half human and half wolf. I say this as in stating because females can be werewolves to. It's just not really heard of. Same as lycans. Except during transformation, you won't know they split from human to wolf, because they are either one. The human. Or one-hundred percent "wolf"." I air quoted before flipping through the slides.

"Now. Onto another point. Lycans prefer moderate tempatures to shift, cool down, go to, or even just settle..." I glanced over at the new kid, and for a second we locked eyes, "they should be well known, but no..no one..um.." tearing my graze away I place my hand on a near by desk. "Um..I'm sorry. Is..is it hot in here?" I laugh nervously.

Taking the jacket off, not even the cool air was suppressing the heat. Heading back, I shake my head and glance at Sui. The teacher was about to end it but I continued. "They should be well known all to which it depends if they decide to let us see them..fuck.." I mumble. Placing my hand on Sui I felt everything go numb right as the lights went black from under my feet.

4 hours later

Stirring awake, my brows lifted slightly. "Mhm..mm." I tried my best to sit up, but in all attempts my body still felt quite numb. Drained.

Seeing I had woken up, Sui came by myside taking my hand into his own. "Don't try to talk. It's all good. Later though I need to know how this all started. If it's your heart Graye...I can't loose you."

I raised my brow and smiled faintly, I laid there numb then glanced over at Sui. I gave him an eye roll though, he was so caring and connected. He was one person I could always count on, but then I look around the room realizing it was my room. My eyes moved towards him again and he scooted closer taking a seat up on the edge of the bed.

"When?"

"When you passed out. Can't risk taking you to the hospital or anything so I called a personal home giver. Your mom agreed." He explained.

"Wait. She's not panicking is she?"

"No. I updated Louise, as for your mom she had already seen it coming."

"What do you mean Sui?"

Clearing his throat, he smiled and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, "All because your headaches, she's been expecting a fainting spell eventually."

My brow raised, but all that went away when mother came in with a indian looking woman. She was beautiful, their cultures with wolves and connections were amazing. The lady came by my side, and smiled pleasantly. "Nothing to do with heart. Rest is inquired. So I presume you stay home for a while. Keep mistletoe close by hun'."

Mother sat a tray of vegetable soup and some jello on my nightstand with a glass of water before leaving. The lady on the other hand kept insisting. I really didn't want to stay in bed, but if I had to I guess it would work out for the best. I could still have classes and all that. But I won't be seeing too much of my friends. That was the sad part but hell I was an adult I could make my own choices - but I also knew following the keepsake of an Indian was vital. She had left, once again leaving me and Sui in here.

I looked at him, and he was smiling. "Who do you have over to kiss?" He teased, rubbing his thumb over the backside of my knuckles. In all reason, I'd totally date him. He may be my best friend, but sure I was extremely lucky to have him. I couldn't ask for anyone better to just hang out with, even though some days it can be debatable.

Just like most guys Sui could be annoying, and a pest. Some days he won't leave anyone he loves or cherishes the hell alone because he has a twig up everyone's asses. Long story short, he wasn't a bad guy, if he ever were then there would definitely be some issues. But in my case, I don't have to ever worry about him being agressive or repulsive - maybe in the annoyance kind of way but never anything less kr more than what one can take.

Louise on the other hand was a war ready to start when someone gets the rockets ready. She's head strong and anyone would be extremely lucky to be with someone like herself. We go way back, and even dated once or twice but it never worked out so in the long run we had decided to stay best friends. So we never had to loose each other. And ever since, it had worked out far to great than we expected.
