Chapter 6: Chapter 5 "Lousy opponent"
I went to my room, and sat on my bed..
After a few seconds I held my head with both my hands and said in a panicked voice "What have I done? Oh no.. how am I gonna get that first place? Can someone pinch me and tell me it's just a dream?"
And surely I pinched myself "Ouch.. It's not a dream.. How can someone be so unfortunate?"
"Should I just go and tell him that I was being impulsive? Aaahhhh.." I pulled my hair in frustration..
"No… I can't do that.. I have my pride to think about.. how can I loose to a seven year old in a bet.. I have to start studying and make him regret… yes Da-Eun, you can do it.. you just need to study and nothing else.."
I tried to motivate myself, I went to my study table and started to do some math exercises..

A few moments later…

I looked at my math exercise book and held my head in frustration.. it's just been a few minutes and here I was, caught in a question that I can't solve.. I tried it a few times but it still refused to be solved..
"Why does it have to be so difficult to study properly? Why can't I solve this question? Who's gonna help me now?" I gave it a thought and called a friend of mine who was one rank above me, second rank in our class..
After a few rings she picked up the call "Hey.. What's up Eunaa?"
She was my friend since I came here and started to attend school the very first day.. her name was Choi Yuna.. She was a very nice girl.. easy to talk and always helping me out with my studies..
"Hey Yunaa… I'm stuck with this question and I can't solve this however I try to.. can you help me with this?" I asked her for help, hopefully she could help me..
"You always say that when you try to do math exercise.. Alright.. huh.. I guess I have no other choice but help you.. tell me about the question.."
I quickly told her about the question and she started to do it herself because she also hadn't done it yet.. One hour went by quickly while we chatted and solved the math problems..
"Knock Knock " We were about to do another question when I heard a knock at my door..
I looked up from my notebook and said to Yuna "I guess someone's here at the door.. I'll call you later.. or we'll talk in school.. okay.. bye.."
After saying that I ended the call and went to open the door.. As soon as I opened the door I saw Noah standing there with his arms folded in front of his chest and looking at me with his eyes narrowed..
"Who were you talking to? So loudly at that.." He asked..
I said while feeling confused "Umm.. I was talking to my friend Yuna.. we go to the same school and she was helping me with my math problems.. why do you ask?"
He took out his phone and typed something in it.. After a few seconds he looked at me and spoke in a low voice "Hmm.. so this is how you study.. if you have any problems then you can tell me.. I'll arrange a tutor for you.."
He made a suggestion.. I didn't know on what basis he said that, and how he thought that he could help me arrange a tutor..
I looked at him and raised my eyebrows.. not understanding why'd he help me win the bet that we just made..
"Why'd you help me? Isn't it in your favor that I am having problems.. you'll win the bet at this rate.."
Noah smirked and said "I don't like an easy win.. right now it's too easy for me to win the bet.. you are not my match in this.. just a lousy opponent.. and I find it boring.. I want to make it a level harder for me to consider it a challenge.."
As soon as he finished talking I felt like beating him.. "you…" I felt hard to find words to retort..
"What me? Am I wrong in saying that you are just a lousy opponent.. huh.. and here I thought you had guts to challenge me.." Noah spoke again in a mocking tone..
"Just you wait.. I don't need your help.. I'll do it myself.. lousy opponent!! I'll show you who that is.. after the final exams this year, you'll be the one loosing.." I said as I clenched my teeth..
After that I shut the door without waiting for him to speak..
I was angry at him but realized that he was not saying anything wrong about me being a weak opponent to him..
I sat on my bed and started to consider his offer.. 'Should I just accept his offer?... no.. I just rejected him.. he will not help me anymore.. and what about my pride.. Da-eun.. you have to think about your pride and stick to what you said.."
"yes.. I just have to stick to my words and not ask him for help"
I took another book of a different subject and started to study on my bed.. after a while I started to feel drowsy and fell asleep..
Soon after that I heard a click.. I was not in a deep sleep but I thought that it was my imagination and continued to sleep..
"Hmm.. she fell asleep, you can do it now.. but don't make too much noise and do it quickly.." I heard a low voice before I fell deep in my sleep..
"Argh.." I groaned and I woke up when I felt my stomach hurting.. I sat up on my bed and looked at my phone to see what the date was..
"Sure enough.." it was that time of the month.. my periods were here to make me more shitty as if Noah was not enough for the day to be more adventurous..
I stood up while clutching my stomach.. walked towards the closet and opened it to look for a sanitary pad..
I soon found it and went to the bathroom to put it on..
When I came out of the bathroom I saw Noah sitting on my bed, looking at his phone again..
He looked up as he heard the bathroom door opening and closing.. He said indifferently "Pack your things and go to a different room.. I'll be staying here.."

I found the previous chapters pretty conjusted and thought about writing it with some more space for easy reading..
