Chapter 7: One Problem After Another

Translator: Dragon Boat Translation Editor: Dragon Boat Translation

Everyone saw the diamond disintegrating into nothing but powder.

Ken's face got drained of all its color.

That was a diamond with very high carats. How on earth did Jordan do that with his bare hands?

But Jordan was only laughing like this was not a huge feat. "Ken, if you want to court someone else's wife, at least get something real. What can a fake diamond do?"

He paused, then he smiled wilder. "Wait. You didn't know it was fake, didn't you? You've been tricked!"

"Yes, I was tricked!" Ken said through gritted teeth.

He looked angry, but at the same time, his heart was clenching.

That ring had been bought with real money, from a reputable store. It couldn't be fake!

But how come Jordan could just break it really easily?

Ken could only stay silent.

Kris opened her mouth to ease the awkwardness. "Ken, don't worry about it. So many jewelers make very convincing fakes and it's not your fault at all."

"That's very true, Ken," Harold put in. "We appreciate the gift and your good intentions. Our sister Sienna knows that you only mean the best."

With that, he winked at Sienna.

Sienna didn't listen to any of them. "I can't accept a gift, much less a fake one."

Ken was dazed. When he came back to his senses, his eyes were flashing with sadness. "I'm sorry, Sienna. I will do my best to make it up to you."

The Campbell family all turned pale when they heard this. It seemed that they had offended him.

Sam decided to rescue the situation. "The dinner is just about to start, Ken. Sit with us and we'll confront the jeweler soon."

He wanted to make sure that Ken was still amiable.

But he looked cold and disinterested now. "There's no need for that. The exciting part is already over and I'm afraid I have no purpose here anymore." He looked at Sam. "Shame, because one of the richest partners of my family wishes to attend this event, but I don't think they will be coming back now."

Sam was silent.

Any family that was close to the Andrich clan was no joke. They had to be making it big in any industry to be affiliated with them.

The Andrich family had all the connections. Without them, Sam's new business venture was heading for failure.

The room got so silent that anyone would be able to hear a pin drop.

Sienna's face was pale. She felt faint. The only stability she relied on was Jordan's hand on the small of her back.

Jordan looked at Ken, his lips curled into a small smile. It was as though he had no idea what had just happened.

Ken knew, and he was mad. "You really made me wonder if you're really a retarded freak tonight." Then he looked sly. "I have no clue what drove Same to agree to you not signing the divorce papers, though."

He was smiling, but his eyes were lit with fiery rage. Especially when he turned to the Campbells. "I hope you keep your promise, and I hope that when everything is over and she becomes my wife, she is still pure and untouched by this creep."

With that, he laughed and left the room.

Sienna's whole body was cold. She bit her lip so hard that she could taste blood.

She had never been so insulted all her life.

But she knew that she had no power to do anything for herself.

The whole room was buzzing.

"What do we do now?" Harold asked weakly.

"Oh, god, we angered Ken and the Andrich family!" Kris panicked.

Suddenly, Rina stood up and slammed her hands on the table, looking at Jordan. "It's all your fault!"

"Jordan, hurry up and apologize to him," Sam urged.

His heart was filling up with mixed emotions. Of all the days, why did Jordan suddenly turn normal now?

He had only arranged that bet to trap him, not actually challenge him to do something.

But Jordan had snapped awake all of a sudden and now he was making a fool out of all of them.

"I didn't do anything wrong," Jordan said calmly. "I have nothing to apologize for."

"Look, I don't care that you're normal right now." Sam clutched his chest in anger. "You messed up my plans. That's what you did wrong."

Jordan raised an eyebrow. "Well, you already have plans with me. Are you trying to go back on your word?"

Sam didn't want to answer that. He just looked at Rina and said, "Have someone draft a new divorce paper. Send him back home and keep an eye on him--"

"DAD!" Sienna interrupted. Her father was going too far. "You agreed to give Jordan a week. It's not right for you to just do this!"

Sam turned to her, looking like he was about to attack. But Jordan wedged himself between them to protect her.

"You shut up," Sam told her sternly. He no longer cared about their relationship as father and daughter. His business was on the line. "You can't keep standing up for him forever. You either make him sign those divorce papers, or I will never consider you my daughter ever again."

Sienna froze, her eyes shining with tears. "Even if we were to sign those papers, it still takes a week for it to take effect. I will only sign if Jordan decides to."

Just then, two people entered the hall. Trevor Campbell, and his bigger, much more muscular brother Tristan.

Tristan bowed to Sam. "Uncle, it's nice to see you. We will be heading back shortly. Is there anything you want us to do?"

Sam looked at Jordan before saying, "We are already sending him back. You should help us with that."

For some reason, Tristan looked a bit uneasy. "Of course."

Trevor's eyes had gone dark and worried. "Is there no other way to send that man back?"

Sam just sighed. "Unfortunately, no. And he didn't sign the papers tonight, so might as well get him out of our sight. Remember to leave through the back door so no one would see him."

Jordan looked at Sienna and assured her. "We would see each other again."

With that, he left peacefully with Trevor and Tristan, who all headed to the elevator in the back.

"Long time no see," Trevor told him as soon as they were in.

Beside him, Tristan was cracking his knuckles like he was ready to beat Jordan into a pulp.

"So this is the man you made drink pee?" Tristan asked.

Trevor didn't want to unearth that bad memory.

"You're still laughing at me after that?" Jordan asked.

"I'm not laughing!" Trevor said hurriedly. "Tristan's hands are just itchy. We're not going to do anything to you. We're just . . . here to take you home."

With that, the two Campbells just tried to chat with each other like nothing was wrong.

Jordan laughed under his breath. "Weren't you trying to teach me a lesson? What happened to that?"

Tristan looked shocked. "You understand what we're saying?"

Trevor's expression turned sour. "Don't provoke him. He might be an idiot but he has some skills."

With that, Trevor flashed him the most plastic smile. "He might be stronger, but I went to a martial arts school, remember?"
