Chapter 35: ............Run

Kingdom of Lugnica,

The Sanctuary,

Samuel POV,

Samuel fell backwards, choosing to sit down in the face of what 'he' had just done. The ground no longer looked as it was before, everything, literally everything for miles was gone. Previously filled with tall trees that seemed to form a literal canopy were replaced by a gigantic hole in the ground. No traces of anything, not even the Great Rabbit, something that multiplied with each time it was killed could be seen.

A nuke, a damned nuke is what it was and he had reason to believe that this wasn't even all it could accomplish, after all, the explosion had been held back by the barrier he 'himself' erected.... No, Samuel shook his head in denial, this wasn't his accomplishment. It was Echidna's, a magic caster's might if you would...

'No need to be discouraged my dear contractor. Believe it or not, there is a man that I could not hope to defeat and all he uses are his fists and a sword.' Echidna chimed in, thinking that Samuel would be disheartened... only to realise she need not utter those words the next second.

A wide grin had etched itself across the teenager's face, gone as fast as it had formed. "Amazing." Samuel muttered out, feeling fairly jumpy at the moment. A wall had been erected in front of him, a wall he sought to climb....no, smash through!

"H-How did you do that?" Beatrice shakily pointed at the destruction, humans weren't supposed to be able to do those kinds of things! She couldn't feel anything apart from an abnormality in his body, so how?

"Murder hobo." Samuel lightly smiled at her, he had no actual explanation for it...

"What is....murder hobo?"

"Dangerous people that appear to be normal." Samuel answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, he then ruffled her hair, "Time in seclusion ain't good for you."

"....." Beatrice looked down, deep in thought, had the world changed more than she thought it had?

'.....'

The villagers that had now somewhat recollected themselves after bearing witness to the spectacle before them cheered loudly, happy about the fact that the barrier was finally gone. That they were finally free. Hugging one another, throwing their hands to their in joy, some cried, others realised who they owed this to, while Ryuzu simply bowed to Samuel from the distance, nothing she could do or say could ever repay what they owed the silver haired stranger.

As Garfiel made his way towards Samuel, the latter noticed something moving from the corner of his eyes and chose to not write it off as a trick on his eyes..... The notion soon paid off, a veritable wave of shadows could be seen travelling sweeping from around the edges of the newly formed landmark.

'.....Annoying fanatics.'

Samuel pushed away the blonde teen near him and looked to Beatrice, "Hey man what the fu-?"

"Teleportation, you know it right?" He asked with an unusually serious face, he was alright. Samuel would be fine here but the villagers would not, not at all.

"Yes....but."

"Then Irlam, take everyone here to Irlam fast, please." Samuel somewhat lowered his head to his own contracted spirit. They needed to go, they need to go right fucking now.

"But what abou-"

"I'll be alright." Samuel smiled pointing at the crater right next to him, not that he was going to rely on Echidna and Echidna only from now on, just that it was the quickest way to reassure the spirit.

Why not take himself along too then? Well that was fairly simple, adaptation to magic, having a direct link to Beatrice, his body had adapted to her magic signature, subsequently, any applications would then be useless..... or not, it was conjecture after all. .... But with how fast his body seemed to be adapting to stimuli.....

'You got it right. It's almost like you want to ruin all my effort. Adapting to our magic, you just made buffs useless.'.... though, that would be interesting in it's own unique way...

"Liar....." Beatrice mumbled raising her hand, she would do what she had been asked to do, it was more of an order though.

"Oi explain."

A vast magic circle formed beneath them and in the next instant, only Samuel alone stood at the edge of the crater.

'That child... how disobedient.' Echidna's giggling voice echoed in his head.

"Good heart." Samuel smiled at her attempt, noticing a missing hand... his pain tolerance was absolute bullshit. Yes indeed, Beatrice had tried to teleport him alongside the rest though as expected, the magic itself was dulled and his hand disappeared as a result.

'Why does it seem like you're about to die?'

"Cause people are dumb, me dying here...." Samuel laughed unusually loudly, his entire body visibly changed, hardening itself, a feat humanly unthinkable. He slipped off his kimono down to the waist, "Fucking idiots, come at me!"

'How passionate.'

In a matter of moments, a hand emerged from the shadow which covered the ground heading straight towards Samuel who grabbed it with his own, pulling his assailant out by force before slashing in arc. Blood sprayed as organs and insides flew around, the man or woman, whatever it might have been had been torn in two halves.

He raised his foot, stomping it down; the ground itself seemed to morph around it as a shockwave travelled outwards, throwing hooded and cloaked figures away from Samuel. "Cowards, come at me straight!"

A wave of fireballs made it's way towards him only for Samuel to, quite literally, grab a hold of the ground ripping out a good chunk of it which then made it's way towards those that had fired those things at him making them nothing but mincemeat.

A dagger was shoved into his stomach but Samuel grabbed onto the one that had done it, pulling back his head before smashing it down, blowing apart the cultist's head. Holding his hands out like claws, he pulled them back before swinging them around akin to whips slicing apart everything around him, even the very ground was deformed as blood and guts flew around.

Smashing his hands together, Samuel grinned as some of his silver hair was dyed red. "That's more like it!" He exclaimed in joy seeing that even with their comrades torn to shreds, the rest showed no hesitation at all. Taking one step forward, the ground under him cracked as he launched himself forward passing through a great number of them in an instant.

When he appeared once more, the ground was dyed in the blood of the witch cultists. Lifeless corpses fell to the ground as Samuel placed a hand on the dagger lodged in his stomach.

An unstoppable force, this was Samuel not fighting with the calmness he displayed normally but rather, it was a display of pure savagery brought about by instinct.

He pulled the blade out of himself before pulling it back and then throwing it, skewering one, then two, then three witch cultists before finally crashing into a tree.

"Come on, come on!" He pointed his hand at the seemingly endless wave of Witch Cultists.

"This is the end!" One of the masked figures shouted before rushing at him only for Samuel to pull back his fist before punching forward, his hand quite literally blowing through the man's chest. He took a step to the side before swinging his leg in a semi vertical arc, cleanly slicing off his head.

Kyokushin's Jab and Capoeira's Armada.

'Are you sure you're human my dear contractor?' Echidna smiled, sipping her tea, the man was undeniably still using martial arts but it did not appear like that at all.

Minutes passed, only the sounds of spells and weapons being swung could be heard all around. The ground was dyed a bloody red, as were trees around, the few ruined stairs were so red that one might think that that was the colour they had been originally.

Samuel sat atop a corpse with a somewhat conflicted and annoyed expression on his face, it was really hard to change. He rested his head in a hand, not bothered by the blood at all as he gazed at the Witch Cultists who had stopped moving entirely just a few seconds ago.

"You're a boorish lot aren't you?" Samuel muttered out waving around an arm that he seemed to be holding, he disliked doing this and he was tired of it but at the same time, he could not not do it. It was instinct, impulse, even pleasurable.....

'Excuses.....how unlike you.'

"You're right." Samuel sighed, that was it, that was going to be the last time he let himself go...

He threw away the arm, his black kimono was stained with blood but he didn't quite care about it. His hair too was now a crimson red, so was most of his body but again, he wasn't bothered at all, acting as if it was an everyday occurrence.

"I was in the area and got curious about what was causing a ruckus but.... it's just an animal."
