Chapter 3: Our First Adventure on Dungeon….
"Hey, your name is Zen, right? My name is Mike. I am here to recruit you" – Mike
As I heard that voice, I was so happy to the point where I was jumping up and down in my mind. It was like a Light of hope when surrounded by darkness to me.
"Yeah, my name is Zen. Thank you for your offer. Can you tell what made you to recruit me?" – Zen
"I know you are an amazing Strategist. Here the world where information is more valuable than gold, your existence is like a Pearl in the vast sea" – Mike
"Oh my, to think that someone values my existence as a treasure makes me feel very pleasant. I will gladly join your party" – Zen
"Great, follow me I will show you our team" – Mike
"As you already know I am Mike. I have the weapon type as Sword and magic type as Ice" – Mike
"Then next this is our party's tanker. His name is Kevin his weapon type is Axe and shield and his magic type is Earth magic" – Mike
Usually, the Axe and shield as a combo and Hammer and Shield as combo exists as combo weapon type for almost every tanker in this world.
"Nice to meet you" – Kevin
"Nice to meet you'' – Zen
"Then next is our party sniper. His name is Phill his weapon type is Bow and magic type is Wind magic"
"----------"– Phill
"----------"– Zen
"Don't mind him he is not a talkative type. Next is our party's Healer. His name is Stephen and his weapon type is Staff and his magic type is Light magic (Rare)"
"(Fist bums)" – Stephen
"(Fist bums)" – Zen
This party is more like a party to me than my friend Lucas's team. In terms of individual power, their team is far superior. But, in terms of teamwork, I think our party is definitely stronger than theirs.
As we greeted each other the next announcement came by.
"I think everyone had formed their parties; next I think now you are all ready to take on Dungeons"
"A dungeon presents near the left side of the Lake Pearl; it is the most famous dungeon in our region. Start with that dungeon and take on many more dungeons in the future. Good luck everyone"
Then my party decided to go to that dungeon the next day morning.
I was so excited about the adventure I barely slept.
The next day morning came. We decided to rendezvous in front of adventures guild at 8 am morning.
Everyone came right on time. We heard a lot of whispers in town. We asked the guy at the fruit store about the commotion in town.
"Hey, mister can you tell us what is going on? The town is noisy today" – Mike
"Did you guys not hear about the great achievement done yesterday by the party from your school"
"What are you talking about mister, can you tell us briefly" – Mike
"Yeah, a party of three members go to the dungeon yesterday after finishing the training"
"They successfully completed 50 levels. They broke the record for most levels completed on the first day after training. The previous record was 49 held by the guild master of the adventurer's guild"
"Wow it is so cool, hey mister tell me who are the team members" – Zen
"I think their captain's name was Ash or something. Yeah, now I remember she is the same girl who came first in training"
"Oh, now it makes sense. Their team is the best team in our school group. But to think they broke the record on the first day itself, it is ridiculous" – Zen
"Then we can't be slacking off, I guess. Guys listen our first-day goal is to break their record" – Mike
"Let's goooooooo" – Everyone
Then arrived at the Entrance of the dungeon. When we saw the entrance, it was like an underground cave.
Normally a dungeon consists of 100 to 500 floors that go underground. This dungeon consists of about 100 levels according to the information. For every 25 floors, there would be a boss and for every 10 floors, there would be safe zones where monsters don't come.
We entered the dungeon for the first time.
***Lake Pearl Dungeon***
Inside dungeon, the light was pretty dark and the smell was like sand after the rain. I love the smell.
"Hey look at there, there is a small slime" – Phill
"The information states that the first 24 floors consist of only slimes, so I think it is time for battle" – Zen
"Phill take care of that slime" – Mike
"On it" – Phill
Phill shot his wind arrow at slime. The slime got completely destroyed.
The slimes are the weakest creatures in dungeons. After defeating any monster our experience will increase so it Is needed to kill as many monsters as possible. The experience will be shared by everyone who presents near the defeated monster.
"Hey, there are a lot of slimes coming" – Kevin
"Guys let's rock and roll" – Mike
Then the guys defeated many creatures. I did not kill any slimes because I coordinated the battle.
We sliced our way to the 10th floor.
"Hey, do you guys need rest? I think we are good to go for the next floor right" – Mike
"Yeah, let's go" – Everyone
"Hey a lot of big slimes are coming" – Stephen
"I will take care of that" – Kevin
Kevin gives a huge swing by his axe, and the slime splashes on everyone.
"Hey control your powers, we have a record to break in our hands" – Phil
"Yeah, yeah" – Kevin
The big slimes are not a threat to us. We reached the 20th floor within 1 hour.
"Hey guys, let's rush to Boss's room" – Mike
Everyone agreed without a second thought because it was like killing ants.
Then we sliced our way to Boss's room. The 25th floor was like a big room with a door in front of it to avoid the Boss rampaging on the upper floors.
We went inside the Boss's room. There lies a Giant Golem that is known for its solid defense.
"Guys it's time to get serious. Let's defeat this guy while saving our stamina for the boss on 50th floor"
"Let's rock" – Zen
Kevin hit the Golem with his big swing that scattered the Slime. It didn't even flinch. The movement of the Golem is slow but its defense is top-notch.
"What, it did not work. Hey, Phill I heard that the glowing thing on its head is its weak point. Shoot it with your Bow" – Zen
"On it. Take this" – Phill
Phill fired his Bow with magic on its head. It seemed to work but the damage is not enough.
"Next let me attack that. Take this" – Zen
Zen hits the Golem with his spear as hard as he can. But the Golem didn't seem to be affected by that.
"Guys I guess it's finally time to use our magic skills because physical attacks didn't work on this Big chunk" – Mike
"Ok Let me start. Skill: Aggro" – Kevin
After activating his skill, the Golem moves toward Kevin. Then it gave Kevin a Big Right swing.
"I know you would do that. Skill: Rock Defense "
Then along with his shield appears Solid rock with a width of 10cm. That manages to block the Golems Attack.
"Guys now is your chance Attack with your best skills" – Kevin
"Skill: Icicle Storm" – Mike
It was an attack that deals huge damage with Ice magic condensed on it. That made the Golem to lose its balance. It gave the perfect chance to attack.
"Now Phill, give your best show at its head" – Zen
"Skill: Absolute Wind" – Phill
It was an attack that concentrates a high density of wind and fires it like a bullet from a Sniper. It hit the Glowing part of the Golem in its head. Then the Golem collapsed.
The Golem was defeated by Zen and his party members. It was their first victory against a Boss enemy.
"We did it guys" – Mike
"Yeah, we basically pulled that off on our first try" – Zen
"Yahoo" – Phill
Then they celebrated like kids who won their first competition in sports.
"Guys let me heal everyone. Skill: Lights Blessing" – Stephen
"Let me restore stamina and mana as well. Skill: Recovery of Grace" – Stephen
The first skill was like a Wide area Heal that recovers HP points. The second skill recovers stamina and magic power Mana. It was a cheat-like skill obviously.
"Hey Zen, did you have any skills? I did not see you use any" – Stephen
"No, I don't have any skills as of now, probably because of the absence of magic type. But I hope I get some skills in future" – Zen
"Yeah man, be positive. I hope you get some OP skills in the future" – Kevin
"Hey guys, let's take a rest for 30 minutes before going to the next stage" – Mike
"Yeah, let's do that, I am tired as fuck" – Zen
"Hey guys, listen to me as you take a rest. The next 25 floors will have Wolf monsters. They are stronger than slimes for a basic mob" – Zen
"They are not as strong as the Giant golem that we have faced. But their agility is the one we should watch for" – Zen
"They fight as a group and have some intelligence, so we need to be more cautious" – Zen
We discussed the strategy as we take a rest. Then the 30 minutes break has come to an end.
"I hope everyone rested well, let's start moving" – Mike
We entered the 26th floor. As we expected the wolves came in packs and waited for us, as they wait for their prey to come.
"Let me. Skill: Aggro" – Kevin
As the monsters attracted to our tank, we dealt as much damage to the wolves. We defeated the wolves with ease with my strategies.
As our strategy works too well on wolves, we reached the 40th floor in no time, the rest point.
"Guys let us take 15 minutes rest. Zen tells us the strategy for the upcoming levels and for the Boss fight" – Mike
"Ok let me, as for the floors from 41 to 49 the same strategy works fine, please be cautious because the difficulty of the mob's increases as the levels of floors increases" – Zen
"As for the Boss, I heard an information that the Boss's name is 'The Ruler of the north', It is a giant wolf which has identical pattern as normal wolves with some Boss skills. It is bigger, stronger, and faster than normal wolves on another level" – Zen
"We follow the same attack strategy as the previous boss fight. But watch out for its special skills" – Zen
Then the break comes to the end.
"Guys let's make sure to break the record" – Mike
Everyone entered the next floor. The same strategy works great as we rushed it like a race. As the difficulty rises, we made sure we are cautious and the gap was reduced by using some magic skills.
We reached the Boss room in no time.
"Guys it's finally time. Let's defeat the boss and clear the next floor and break the record. Let us carve our names in history. Let's Go" – Mike
Mike pushed the boss room door. We set our foot in Boss's room. The atmosphere suddenly changed.
A Giant wolf of 20 feet in height was lying there. The pressure emitting from that wolf almost made us lose our morale to fight.
The Wolf noticed our presence and woke up. It approaches us slowly as a Predator approaches its prey.
"Guys let's stick to the strategy and defeat this bastard" – Zen
"Skill: Aggro" – Kevin
The Wolf's attention draws to our tank.
"Skill: Rock wall" – Kevin
The Wolf starts to attack Kevin with its boss skill Big Claw which is a big right swing with its claw with Magic condensed in it.
The moment the attack connects. Kevin's defense did not stand a chance. He was sent flying and hit the wall in the room.
We are all shocked. The fact that even our tanker's best defensive skill did not stand a chance against the Boss' basic skill. We realized that we are not his opponents.
Fortunately, Kevin was not injured but his skill was broken with brute force.
"Guys we will not stand a chance against that monster. We should retreat" – Zen
As Zen takes his eyes off the Boss for a millisecond, the wolf attacks Zen with its left claw.
That big claw was only a meter up till it hits him. Zen saw that majestic claw in front of his face as his life flashed before his eyes.
