Chapter 77: Chapter Seventy Seven: Poke
"Look, Rian…i'm waving at another dog!"
Oshizu said while waving at yet another small dog she passed in the large dog park, the dog barked in reply. The high pitched and loud bark made Oshizu jump for a moment before she looked away with a red face.
"Do you want to come down for a moment?"
The hazel eyed boy below the red faced ghost girl stopped and asked while slightly looking up.
"No…"
Oshizu replied without heisitation, she didn't need a second to think. She felt safe and tall while sitting on Rian's shoulders.
"…Rian, twelve o'clock."
Oshizu noticed a incoming adversary due to her bird's nest view, she pointed at a large black dog with a slightly shaky finger and widened eyes, the dog was coming in the direction of the duo at a normal pace. Unlike the other dogs she had seen before, the black dog was large…too large in fact. The dog probably ignored doggie doors and went through a normal door by itself. The dog lacked any noticeable hair on it's body and it's ears were extremely pointy.
"Woof…woof…woof."
The dog woofed while looking around, the woofs from the black dog sounded similar to a human mimicking a dog
"…"
Oshizu stared at the large dog, her fear of dogs rose to the level of a full time door to door mailman, the pointy ears of the dog scared her for some reason. Her legs tightened around Rian's head, she was on the verge of jumping out of her artificial body before she felt a hand touch her thigh and a familiar voice enter her ears.
"The dog is large, but not larger than you now…it can't get you from up there."
Rian looked up at the ghost girl on his shoulders while saying, his hazel eyes stared into her blue ones.
"…"
Oshizu's legs went back to their original postion after a few seconds, her hands and chin rested on the hazel eyed boy's head after he looked down.
"You ready?"
"…"
Oshizu didn't reply with her mouth, she nodded her head after a moment of thinking, Rian could feel her nodding.
"Let's go then."
Rian started back walking…
The black dog continued walking while looking around…
The hazel eyed boy and the blue eyes girl soon passed the large dog after seconds of walking…
"…Woof?"
The already extremely pointy ears of the large black dog became even more pointy after it raised them, the dog turned around and locked it's eyes onto Rian and Oshizu, it could smell a familiar scent coming from Rian and Oshizu after passing them…it was the familar smell of it's lost owner.
"Woof! Woof!"
The dog dashed forwards…
"Rian! Rian! It's coming! It's going to eat us!"
Oshizu noticed the dog the instant it ran in their direction, her wary blue eyes never left the dog for a second after Rian started walking. She watched the pointy eared dog before it passed them, while it was passing them, and after it passed them. She wouldn't stop watching the dog until she could not longer see it.
"I promise we're not that tasty!"
Oshizu yelled out a random sentence before jumping off of Rian's shoulders and standing in front of him, she closed her eyes and blocked with her forearms until she no longer hear any paws hitting the ground.
"…I have been eaten."
Oshizu only saw darkness…
"My body is numb…"
Oshizu was scared yet stood in front of Rian…
"I never got to finish the new Thymesia."
Oshizu should have done it over the weekend…
"I never got to confess to him…"
Oshizu was quite regretful…
"Woof!"
The dog woofed…
"…I'm not that scared anymore, I have already been eaten."
"Oshizu…what are you talking about?"
Rian asked while giving the large dog some unreleased treats he recieved from a professional dog trainer, the dog had ran pass the ghost girl and went to Rian.
"Even after dying again, I can still hear his voice."
Oshizu was rather bold and fearless right now, she thought she was dead again.
"You aren't d-…you haven't died again."
"…Even after dying, he still comforts me."
"…"
"I wish I could confess…"
"…"
Rian walked away from the dog and over to the ghost girl. He leaned in and blew his breathe on her closed eye lid.
"…Wind?"
Oshizu's eye twitched, she raised her hand and rubbed her eyelid….
"…Ow…"
The girl said while having her cheeks poked repeatedly, she puffed up her cheeks as a form of defense.
"Open your eyes."
Rian continued to poke the girl's puffy cheeks…
"…"
Oshizu slowly opened her eyes after hearing Rian's voice again, she could see a yellow sun, white moving clouds, and a blue sky above the head of the boy poking her face.
"You still have your body and you were not eaten by a dog."
"…"
Red Oshizu blinked and looked around for a moment before she started to poke Rian's face.
"Why are you poking my face?"
"…I was checking if you were real."
"…"
"…"
"Why aren't you stopping?"
Rian asked, his finger continued to poke the girl's face.
"Because, you're still poking me."
Red Oshizu's inner gamer spirit took this poking situation as a game, she didn't want to lose it.
"You see this as a game?"
Rian knew the girl well, he taught her after all.
"Yes."
"Why? You already lost, I poked you the most."
Rian continued to rack up poking points…
"…"
Oshizu started to dodge his pokes by moving her head
"Just because your started dodging doesn't mean I lose points."
Rian followed her dodging cheeks and continued to poke her.
"…"
"…"
The two poked each other at a faster pace…
"Shouldn't you be confessing instead of poking me?"
Rian remembered her past words…
"…"
Red Oshizu turned redder, to be honest, parts of her kept poking him with the hope that he would forget her words…the other parts of her poking came from her inner gamer spirit.
"Hmm? Do you want me to confess to you?"
Rian didn't mind being the one who confessed…
"…."
Red Oshizu shook her head, since she started it…she would naturally finish it.
"…Rian…please allow me to join your plan!"
The girl's face was red, but she still yelled out her words, she stopped poking before speaking..
"Sure, i'm glad you decided to join, Oshizu."
Rian lightly smiled, he also stopped poking her face…he naturally got the last poke.
"…"
A smile naturally forced on the face of the red ghost girl, her like for dogs went up. If the large dog never charged at her, this exact situation would have never happened.
"Woof."
The large dog woofed while eating the treats, the dog didn't interupt the duo's poking game for reason's unknown.
"Kratos!!!!!"
A older lady jogged towards the treat eating black dog, she looked happy.
"Woof! Woof!! Woof!!"
The dog turned around and woofed the instant it heard the man's voice, it dashed and jumped into the strong dog trainer's arms.
"Hahaha! Still as heavy as ever Kratos!!"
The dog trainer laughed while petting his dog, only after petting did he notice the familiar faces.
"Oh, it's you two, it seems you found my dog…thank you."
The dog trainer laughed while having his face licked.
"…"
Oshizu went behind Rian's back, even though her like for dogs had risen, that didn't mean she would interact with every dog. At least she was no longer fearful of every dog she saw.
"Tell you're girlfriend not to completely worry, he gets full after half a person! Hahaha!"
"…"
"…"
"That was a joke, Zeus it the one that really eats people…Hahaha!!"
The man couldn't hold back his laughter for too long…
"Zeus is bigger?"
Rian wondered how big Zeus would be compared to Kratos.
"Yeah, Zeus can carry a adult man on his back. He even sometimes drives me to work…that wasn't a joke.
The bearded male dog trainer gave the duo of two more unreleased dog treats from his sponser's and tickets to a dog show before departing…
"…You have something on your face."
Oshizu poked Rian's cheek before looking at her finger.
"You do also."
Rian poked the girl's face and looked at his finger
"…"
"…"
"…I missed."
Oshizu poked Rian's face, there was nothing there. She relized couldn't get the most finger pokes without starting a war, she decided to at least get the last poke.
"I missed also."
Rian poked her face back, he naturally knew what the girl was atrempting to do, he wouldn't allow her to do so.
"…"

A poking battle between a two high school students began…
That evening…the legend and rumor of " Hazel and Blue" was created by surrounding people who saw the intense battle and interaction first hand. It was stated that if you poked the person you liked on the cheek in that specific dog park during school hours after helping a dog find it's owner…the person you liked would confess to you that same day. Because of these rumors, the dog park became filled with more people than before after Rian and Oshizu left. People who went searching found lonely stray dogs in the park after looking for lost dogs, this led to every stray dog in the park to find a new home.
Even in the future, the dog park is still a popular spot to confess or to find stray dogs, it's more popular than the sakura tree in the back of schools…
