Chapter 13: Chapter 13: The Role Model

A few days later, after Gin and Velzard finished sparring for the day, Gin faced Velzard.

"I think its time I went to the Eastern Empire to practice. I need to learn more Light magic and skills," Gin said.

"I was going to suggest the same thing," Velzard replied, smiling brightly before sending a long range telepathic message to Velgrynd.

And with that, Gin quickly brought up to Emilia that she would be leaving the next day.

Somehow, the entire town got news of this not even five minutes later, and jointly packed up all the necessary belongings for the two dragons.

They didn't pack food since the Gin already stores a lot in her inventory. Instead, they packed a portable bed and closet.

The bed was even softer than the one in Gin's bedroom. And the closet was filled with so many different types of dresses that Gin was intimidated with how they were able to cram all the clothes into the dresser.

The next morning, Gin met up with Emilia, Kaguya, and Velzard at the front gate.

Gin didn't need to worry about leaving the country, as everyone was already very strong at low A- rank. Plus [Great Sage] was still in contact with every single citizen.

Waving goodbye, Velzard teleported Gin to right outside the Rudra's Imperial Palace in the Capital City.

Right when they arrived, a mysterious beautiful woman, slightly older than her jumped at Gin, giving her a massive hug and shoving her head in her chest.

"GAH! Can't... Breath..." Gin said though gasps.

Not fully releasing her, the girl joyfully laughed and said, "Ha ha, sorry. I was just so excited to meet my future little sister. I finally get a different youngest sibling.

Oh, and if you didn't guess already, I'm Velgrynd."

Taking a moment to wait for Velgrynd to stop rubbing Gin's face against hers, Gin introduces herself, even though her identity is already known.

"So, what business do you have in the empire?" Velgrynd questioned.

"Huh? Velzard didn't tell you?" Gin asked, surprised. "Well, recently, I've been training with Velzard. But its becoming less effective, so I wanted a different training partner whos just as strong. Plus, I wanted to learn Light and Holy magic, as well as swordsmanship from you partner, Rudra."

"Sure, that's not a problem," Velgrynd says, but adds a moment later, "But... I don't know if Rudra would agree. He's been pretty busy lately. But I can bring you to ask him."

And with this, Velgrynd lead Gin inside, to the entrance of the throne room, giving her a private audience with the Rudra.

Before Gin entered though, Velzard stopped her for a moment, telling her that she wasn't needed for Gin to grow stronger. Then, she gave Gin one last hug and kissed her on the forehead before teleporting away, back to Guy.

Inside the throne room, Gin was brought face to face with Guy's only true rival, Rudra. The man was only average height, but his looks were stunning. But even more outstanding was the natural pressure he was giving off. Not using any skills, he was passively dominating Gin with his natural charisma.

Slowly waking up to the throne room, the emperor welcomed Gin in and asked, "Welcome, niece. Or is it sister-in-law? What can I do for you?"

"He-hello your ma-majesty. I just wanted help in my training, so I came to the best place for that." Gin responded nervously.

"We're basically related. You don't need to be formal with me." Rudra explained before he bluntly responded, "But sorry, I'm busy running an Empire. You can train with Velgrynd though."

"PLEASE GIVE ME A CHANCE!!!" Gin hollered, bending at her waist 90 degrees bowing her head.

"Hmmm. Tell me this. What are your goals, dreams, desires, wishes." He asks after thinking for a good minute.

"My goals? Well, I want to get stronger?" Gin answers immediately.

"Not that one. That was obvious when you came here."

"Well, a long term dream of mine is to be able to manipulate the world behind the scenes, so that I can spice things up, and be entertained." Gin says, opening up fully to the domineering emperor's interrogation.

"It sounds to me like you don't have the world's best interests at heart. Maybe I should kill you, right here and now, so you don't become a problem later." Rudra answers, getting into a battle ready position with his sword drawn. His Hero's aura fully directed at Gin, with a stoke of killing intent unleashed.

Still standing through sheer willpower, Gin replies, "NO, I might not have the world's best interests at heart, but as long as I'm here, the world will NOT be in danger."

In a standoff position for minutes with no one moving, silence permeated throughout the large holy throne room, until Rudra laughed and sat back down on his throne. His sword went back to its sheath, and his battle intent faded.

"You sure are an amusing little one, aren't you." he says, entertained by Gin's determination. "Tell me. If you were in my position, how would you protect the world? And how would you get the weak and chaotic race of humanity to unite and stop fighting against one another?"

Gin, realizing that this is her best opportunity to convince Rudra to be her mentor, declared with full certainty, "All you need is a universal villain who takes on all the hatred, and one who would never get defeated."

Sighing, Rudra says, "That's what Guy believes as well, but I don't want to force my friend into a position like that and would rather take the burden on my own."

Thinking for a moment, Gin remembers what Rudra ends up doing in the light novels. Putting his plan into words, she says, "Well, if you had a powerful spell or skill that can pose as a natural disaster, you could use that ability every few hundred years, targeting the countries or cities that become unruly or too powerful to control, partially destroying them and setting back their progress for a long time, at least until the next time you use your ability. Plus, using this make humans fear this event and not focus on each other.

Also, if you do this, you would be able to easily conquer other countries on the context of protecting and defending the people living there."

Hearing this, Rudra remembered his [Armageddon] Subskill, which summons an army of angels that he thought had no purpose. He thinks for a moment, his fingertips massaging his temples and his eyes closing. Not to mention it would indeed help him concur the world.

Suddenly, he opens his extremely determined eyes, gets up off his throne, and walks straight pass the standing Gin, heading to the entrance way that Gin entered from.

Right when he reaches the door, he turns around, facing Gin and partially bows his head in thanks.

"Tomorrow first thing in the morning, don't you forget," he says, before exiting the room, leaving Gin there by herself.

Gin, smiling and very happy, runs off to meet Velgrynd.

----------

The following morning, before the sun had fully risen, the trio of Velgrynd, Rudra, and Gin had met in a a large empty courtyard in the palace.

"Before we do any training, show me what you got," Rudra said.

Gin obliged, launching a multiple light based energy beams in human form.

Rudra didn't even dodge, using a single hand to block the attacks with his palm. Then, he threw a net made of light at Gin.

Gin tried to make a barrier using both her skills and magic, but the new directly broke them, hit her, and trapped her within it, tying her to the ground.

"Hmm, you seem to have good mastery over your skills, but don't have too much combat experience. When facing an opponent stronger than you, you should try to dodge attacks if you can. Plus, I even purposely shot a slower attack so you could dodge."

"Heh heh, sorry. I'm used to training with Velzard, and she usually didn't even try when fighting and still beat me." Gin replied as the net dissipated.

"You should visit the Imperial Library. It has all of our public magic documented, and has basic sword techniques recorded." Rudra suggested, proud of his collection.

Excited for the opportunity to learn, and to copy books, Gin excitedly headed off, with Velgrynd acting as her chaperone.

----------

--(One Week Later)--

A week later, Gin was still at the library, but this wasn't so that she could read every book.

Gin had finished reading all the books on her second day. She had made a large amount of clones, and had them copy down the context of every book available.

The rest of the week was made of her trying to comprehend every book, but that needed a while. Fortunately, with the help of [Great Sage], she finally finished reviewing all of the Light Magic, as well as the Eastern Empire's basic sword technique.

With Gin finally finishing, she notified Velgrynd, and asked for her guidance in teaching, as well as sparring.

But even after they met up, Velgrynd declined, saying Gin should take the day off to explore the capital which contains Rudra's hopes and dreams. Saying this passionately, Velgrynd acts like a newlywed, totally in love with Rudra's manliness.

Walking around the capital, Gin is impressed with how rich the area is. All the buildings have very large windows, reminiscent of Earth.

But there were no new concepts for Gin to see, as everything she saw was still inferior to modern day Earth.

Gin thought that her town already had most of the things it needs to develop, and instead of new cutting edge technology and ideas, all her country needed was time to develop, as well as time for her population to grow.

Walking around until the afternoon sun turns into twilight, Gin and Velgrynd return to the palace, to where Rudra just finished dealing with his military generals and is practicing with his sword.

Asking for her second spar, Gin and Rudra return to the large courtyard used in their first spar.

An hour later, after multiple short spars where Rudra very rapidly defeats and contains Gin, Rudra called it a day. Of course, he wasn't tired at all. Gin, on the other hand, was extremely exhausted, using all her energy just to avoid one or two attacks before getting caught.

When Gin leaves with Velgrynd to their shared living quarters, just like she had with Velzard, Rudra was left alone to think.

'I'll admit, she's more interesting than I first thought. How'd she read the entire light magic section of the library and master all that magic in only a week?

Fine, I'll agree to be her personal trainer for a year and teach her to fight rather than just increase her energy reserves.' He declared with a small grin.

Side Story 5

--When Velzard Returns Home--

"Hiiiii, I'm back!!!" Velzard screams into the palace after she teleports right into the throne room, next to the throne.

But Guy was sitting on his throne resting, so when Velzard announced that she returned, his jumped, startled.

"Hey, how was your trip?" he asked with genuine curiosity.

"It was pretty fun. Gin is still pretty weak, but at least she makes a great hug pillow!" she responds with great certainty, pumping her fist with excitement.

"Huh, what does that mean?"
