Chapter 18: CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: CARNIVAL NIGHTS

So far so good, my girls were having the time of their lives in the carnival and I was having mine with Luca. Jesse finally left and no sooner was I back in Luca's arms.

"Questions and answers...are you ready?" Luca asked with a smile.

"Okay, you go first" Sianna said.

"Your first impression of me?" Luca asked with a grin because he already knew the answer.

"Oh come on! You already know what I thought of you, you just want me to say it all over again. Next question please" Sianna said almost annoyed but got over it when Luca began to laugh.

"You're to ask the next question" Luca said laughing.

"Okay, so... Why do you always stay at the back of the class?" Sianna asked.

"Well...so I could stare at you. Sometimes I even sketch a figure of you" Luca replied calmly.

"Luca, I feel like you're lying to me. All this while and it's now I find out that you could draw?" Sianna said in disbelief.

"Oh, so you don't believe me?" Luca asked with a grin.

"Umm...yes" Sianna said positively. Then Luca got up from the bed and went to his bag where he kept some of his school books and then brought out his sketchbook. He showed Sianna every sketch he had made of her every time she was in class. The sketch that shocked her the most was from her first day of school when she threw the hammer at him.

"I can't believe this Luca, how long have you noticed me?" Sianna asked surprised.

"Since I came into Stevens's class late. Then I wasn't sure what it was I felt for you, but now..." Luca said. He was about to go for a kiss when Sianna's phone rang.

"Sorry Luca, I have to take this" Sianna said then she went out of his room to answer the call.

"Hey Mindy, how's the carnival going?" Sianna asked as she leaned on the walls of Luca's living room.

"Not so good. I have a problem that involves Angie and I dont know who to tell because Veronica's with Callum but you're alone in bed with no one to talk to...that makes the both of us right?" Mindy asked.

"Yeah...wait, what about Les?" Sianna asked.

"She's...kinda the problem. You see, this carnival was also a means for Angelica to tell Daniel how she truly felt about him, and when she chickened out at the last minute, guess who I saw running off with Daniel and kissing him like there was no tomorrow... Leslie" Mindy announced.

"Oh my God. Angelica must not know about this...at least not yet" Sianna suggested.

"Of course. By the way, Leslie didn't know I saw her" Mindy mentioned.

"Okay, so here's what we are both gonna do. I'm gonna talk to Angelica about this whole Daniel situation later on, but in the meantime, you talk to Leslie and make sure Angelica doesn't tell Daniel how she truly feels because, for all we know, Daniel could go ahead and tell Angelica what she doesn't wanna hear" Sianna said and Mindy agreed with her. Then she hung up and went back to the room to meet Luca.

Mindy then began looking for Angelica. She saw her already talking to Daniel. She panicked for a while and then went to meet the both of them.

"Hey guys, so...what are we doing to celebrate your win?" Mindy asked Daniel awkwardly.

"I'm in the middle of something Mindy" Angelica said with her teeth clenched.

"And I'm trying to save you so don't say what I told you to say" Mindy said with her teeth clenched as well.

"Okay, I'm still right here you know" Daniel said a bit weirded out.

"One moment Daniel" Angelica said as she angrily dragged Mindy to a corner.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You were the one who said to do this and now that I'm going ahead with the plan, you're telling me not to because you're saving me?" Angelica asked confused.

"Look Angie, I can't really explain what's going on but I promise you that you'll be doing yourself a huge favour if you dont tell Daniel how you truly feel" Mindy said and then left leaving Angelica very confused. Angelica then met with Daniel and apologised for the way she and Mindy behaved.

"There's no need to apologise. I'm cool with weird. So...what was it you wanted to tell me" Daniel said. Angelica paused for a while and then she spoke.

"Chilli contest, your place, you and I, anytime you want...what do you think?" Angelica asked nervously.

"You got it. Anyways, I gotta go now, so...see you later yeah?" Daniel said and then he hugged her and left. On his way, he called Leslie on the phone and a few minutes later, she came to meet him in his car and they drove off to his place. Mindy watched them drive off until they were out of sight. So this was why she was shaving like hell she thought.

Gabby was sitting by the ice cream stand talking to the ice cream guy when Carly and a girl walked up to get some. Immediately Gabby saw them, she turned to the other side as though she were looking at something important. As the girl ordered, Carly stared at Gabby trying to figure out who she was. Then it clicked.

"Gabby? Hey" Carly said with a smile.

"Oh...hi Carly" Gabby said nervously as she turned around.

"Gina this is Gabby, Gabby, Gina...my girlfriend" Carly said with a smile.

"Girlfriend...wow, very nice to meet you" Gabby said as she gulped saliva down her throat.

"Hey" Gina said as she waved her hands in the air. Then Carly collected both their ice creams.

"Yeah...so we're gonna go now...see you around" Carly said and then she left with Gina.

"Ex-girlfriend?" The ice cream guy asked.

"Sort of...it was complicated" Gabby explained.

"Doesn't seem that complicated to me" The ice cream guy said.

Soon after, everyone began gathering to watch the fireworks. Callum was alone with Veronica and instructed her to pay attention to the fireworks.

"Let me guess, this is another fucking ritual" Veronica said as she rolled her eyes.

"No, just watch...you're gonna like it" Callum assured with a smile. The fireworks began and seconds later, it spelt the words "I love you Ronnie". Veronica was surprised. She stared at the fireworks almost in tears until they were over.

"So, what do you think Ronnie?" Callum asked nervously.

"I think... I think I love you too" Veronica said happily as she jumped on Callum and gave him a hug. Everyone else who watched the fireworks couldn't actually tell who they were for. It was only Gabby, Mindy and Brody that was aware of who it was for.

"That fucker really went all out" Brody said to himself with a smile.

It was already getting late and the carnival was closing already. It was then Sianna finally decided to leave Luca's.

"Do you really have to go?" Luca stressed holding Sianna by the waist. They both stood outside the apartment's door.

"You know I wanna stay but I don't like lying to my friends. So I have to go" Sianna declared sadly. As they both contemplated quite romantically, Sianna's dad; Calvin was passing by the street in his car when he noticed his daughter with Luca. They were about to kiss when Calvin parked and got out of his car immediately. He yelled out her name as he walked briskly towards her and Luca.

"Dad?" Sianna said in disbelief
