Chapter 19: Misunderstanding!
The next day I thoroughly explained to my mom why I was late and why I joined the Martial arts academy.
She didn't take the matter too seriously and gave me some leniency. I wanted to go to the academy to see and observe the combat hall's to gain some insight about actual martial arts. Also I wanted to see what would Adren do now he misrebly lost against me yesterday.
Just as I was getting ready my phone rang. It was Dorothy.
I picked up the phone and said "Hey Dorothy what's up"
"Hey Danial are you fre right now?"
I said "Not entirely but yeah "
"Okay meet me at my house right now"
I asked confused" But why what happened"
Dorothy said hastily " Are you coming or not "
I replied quickly " Okay okay I am coming"
" Thank you Danial meet you at my house "
I looked at my phone with a werid expression " What a crazy ass girl"
I decided I would go to the academy later on,since my mom allowed some leniency in time.
I went directly to Dorothy's house and rang the door bell. Dorothy opened the door with a big smile on her face and she suddenly dragged me through the hall.
I asked hastily "Dorothy what are you doing and why the hell did you call me "
Dorothy replied "You will find out soon"
Dorothy dragged me all th way to the main room. I saw Dorothy smiling shyly and suddenly a thought striked me. I forcefully broke the grip on my arm and said "I know I helped you and you want to repay me for my kindness but this is too much.I never asked you anything and this is too much. You can't do that to repay something. Listen Dorothy the world is really cruel out there and there will be guys that take advantage of kind people like...."
As I was blabbering about it I saw a hand coming towards me from the sky and it hit the back of my head
Dorothy said "What are you talking about and why the hell do you think I am gonna do something like that "
I looked around and saw I was in the living room and awkwardly said " Then what were you talking about "
Dorothy said "My parents said they wanted to meet you and"
I said "Ohhhhhhhhh.... That's why you called me "
I wanted to crawl in and hole and die. The amount of embarrassment I received today was insurmountable.
I sat in the couch with my face directly facing the floor as Dorothy glared at me with stern eyes.
She suddenly said "I didn't think you would think of someone that way Danial maybe I should tell my parents about it"
I jumped from the sofa and said gesturing with my hands "Hold one wait a minute!This is all a very big misunderstanding! It is a misunderstanding. That never happened okay"
Her parents suddenly came through the door and glanced at me.
I was in a very bad posture as I was trying to convince Dorothy about that misunderstanding.
Dorothy quickly broke the awkwardness and said " Mom Dad this is Danial Crawford. My VERY good friend (Emphasis on the word VERY ).
I stood up, straighten my body and said " Hello Uncle Hello Aunty my name is Danial Crawford is a pleasure to meet you "
Her father said " Oh there is no need for such behaviour we are all family here let's sit and talk. "
Dorothy's father name was Warren and her mother's name was Elaine.
Warren said "The reason I called you here through Dorothy is to thank you for you effort. If weren't for you I would have been in jail for years. "
I realised why they called me here and hurriedly said " Sir there is no need for this. I help Dorothy because she is my friend. We went through up and downs together so it's natural it has to be in my conscience to help her.
Warren said " No whatever may it be I nend to thank you for your help"
"Sir you are en elder so I need to be respectful and help you in need, that's my responsibility theres no need to for such presents and such pleasentries"
Warren replied hastily" Noo I insist you not only helped my but indirectly helped my family"
I looked at Dorothy and she nodded her head signalling me to accept her fathers gift.
I sighed in defeat and said "Okay sir I will happily accept your gift"
Warren smiled in joy and said "That's my boy now what I have prepared for you might be tiring but it will benefit you in the future. "
I asked Warren " What are you taking about "
Warren said patting me shoulder " I got you a job at Sterling technology. "
