Chapter 21: Great Deal
Barley White bowed in front of me and said "Young man thank you for rescuing me that day without you I would not be standing here alive"
I shook my head and went to Barley and said while helping him "Can we make this matter a secret I don't need everyone to know "
Barley understood what I said and helped himself and said " My leg, it seems I will be having a bad week "
Barley stood up and said asked Warren whose jaw was still on the floor "Warren this young man is he with you ?"
Warren nodded and said "Yes he is Danial Crawford I recommend him to the company and I believe that he will greatly profit the company in the future"
Barley nodded and said gratifying "Yes I believe in this young man "
Warren was puzzled but he decided not to think about it.
He thought "Barley White was a great businessman and he knows a person's character by just looking at him and if he says that Danial will grow it must be his instinct"
Warren motioned me to leave the office as he thought it was unnecessary for me to take the CEO's time.
Barley noticed his behaviour and said "No need Warren I need to talk to this young man you may leave "
Warren was stunned as to why would the CEO Barley would have anything to do with this young man "
Even if his thoughts were displayed he would have no choice but to listen as it was an order from him.
After Warren left the office, I was left with Barley White and his secretary in the office. Barley waved his hand and the secretary brought out some papers. Barley White then said " Young man please this token of appreciation for saving my life"
I glanced at the papers and was dumbfounded.
He wanted to transfer 10% shares to my name! There are the shares of Sterling Technology. Anyone with 10% shares of Sterling Technology is considered a big shot even in the Martial arts world.
I immediately said " Sir you don't need to be so courteous. That day I saved you because that's was a human being is supposed to do, even if I knew that you were the CEO of Sterling Technology I would have saved you and asked nothing in return"
Barley White's eyes widened and said " You know how much this share cost here in Somerland? "
I said humbly " I know sir but when I saved you I never asked anything in return so even if I accepted this I would be doubting myself. "
Barley White then smiled and muttered " What a humbly and good-hearted man "
Barley White then whispered something in the secretary's ears and the secretary took out other papers and said "Here you go Master White"
Barley took the paper and said to me " This is the papers to the Golden leaf hotel from now onwards you will have completed ownership of the Hotel "
The Golden leaf Hotel, that's a 6-star hotel how would he just give it like that?
Noticing my dumbfounded expression he hurriedly said " Young man Please accept this if you don't I will have this burden for the rest of my life "
I was stunned and couldn't speak. I stuttered and said " S-s-sir t-that's too much "
Barley White's face revealed a smile, a smile for just a second but I caught that smile.
He said humbly " Young man please give me some face and accept my token of appreciation please"
I thought " If I repeatedly reject his offer I will leave a bad impression on him and as the saying goes "First impression is the last impression" I had to give him a good impression by accepting his offer"
I sighed and took the ownership papers from his hand.
Barley White smiled and said " Thank you, young man "
I looked at the papers as it said " Ownership transfer of Golden leaf hotel"
I sighed and the hotel was mine.
The secretary then have me a custom-made card which said supreme VIP. The card was really elegant and looked luxurious.
The Secretary then said "You're now the holder of the Supreme VIP card, using this card you can access any part of the hotel and use all of its services for free"
I gashed and looked at the card and said "FOR FREE"
My voice startled the secretary and said " Yes You and Only you can use those services for free from now onwards "
I looked at Barley and said " I really think I don't deserve such treatment but thank you, sir "
Barley looked at me and said " No thank you Danial for saving my life that day "
I wanted to ask what was the reason for the accident but I decided to not ask. It might be related to something dangerous and I do not want to be a part of it.
I asked Barley "Can I still work at the company"
Barley heard what I said and had a strange expression. He asked "Why do you want to work when you already have a 6-star Hotel"
I said " I came under this company to work and make my own future and I certainly didn't expect to get a hotel for free, even though I can live my life happily with the earnings of the hotel, it defies my morals.
I can't just sit around and live life with something I didn't earn, it just doesn't feel right if you know what I mean"
Barley's eyes widened and he muttered " You just maybe the one I need"
He shook his head and said "Okay I will allow you to work"
I bowed and said "Thank you " and left the office.
I left the company and said to myself "What a Great deal I have. I am proud of myself and the system"
Barley White saw me leaving the company as his secretary said "You praised him multiple times, I never saw you praise anyone like that sir "
Barley hummed and said "He has a good heart and he might be the one I need "
The secretary knew what he was talking about but didn't say anything.
