Chapter 11: Shopping spree (Edited)

"You." She stopped and whipped her head around.

"Yes, dear sister?" she smiled sweetly, at her sister and acted as if she didn't see the shameless man beside her. "May I help you with something?" she looked around innocently. "This is the arts block, did you lose your way, business classes are over there." she pointed opposite their building.

Amber's face underwent several transformations before settling for one that had feigned aloofness. Only she knew how much Amber detested business but was going through it for her family's sake. Well, that was the day she found her diary lingering around and like the saint she was, she returned it but after peeking inside, she was human too. "You stole this car from your husband?"

Oh, curious? Though disappointed that it took her step-sister three whole hours to approach her only to ask a lame question, well that had been Amber always, dumb and dumber. Amy smirked internally. "What can I say? Everything is in my access dear sister." She intentionally took the black card from her bag and placed it in her pocket, making sure they had seen it. "Sister, if that is all, I have shopping to go, excuse me."

She majestically skipped away from the building towards where Lucy's class was located to get her. Awn, the feeling of showing off was so great that she couldn't help wondering if that was how her sister used to feel.

"OMG, you, you have to make sure this marriage works!" Lucy screamed when they got to the car park. "I wish I had seen their faces baby!" she walked around the car and Amandla couldn't help chuckling.

"You're behaving worse than me yet you are the one that was born in money." She leaned on the car's bodywork and watched as Lucy did her drama thing.

"What money, this is richness!" she touched the car again. "Baby, you just reached heaven!"

Amy shook her head. "Heaven indeed, I haven't even told you the rules I was given!"

Lucy stopped and gave her all the attention. "I'm listening," Amy explained every rule plus the dinner they had the previous night. "So what you dumb head?" she lightly hit her head. "So what? It's not as if he prohibited you from having fun, thank God he didn't even take advantage of you!"

"Yep, I guess you're right." True, things could have been bad.

Lucy's face suddenly turned evil, that look never meant well. "So, he gave you the black card huh?" Amy gazed at the sky, how could she forget that she had once crazy shopping maniac for a best friend?

"You're crazy and I am not waiting for you to admit it." she grinned at Lucy and got on the passenger seat.

"If I crash this car what will your husband do to me?" Lucy asked as she started the car.

"There is only one way to find out." She was still of the opinion to make Jeff's life a mess not to forget that she owed him a payback for failing to show up at her wedding.

They drove out of the compound, went for lunch, and shopped all day long. In the evening, Lucy intentionally bumped into a building. They stopped outside the building to wait for their penalty. A guard in black came rushing at them but it seemed that the car itself had its own respect. He kindly asked them to pay and gave out the black card Amy asked them to use all the amount they wanted.

Funnily enough, the car only had a little scratch.

"Okay, I believe this is enough to drive him over the edge," Lucy said as she alighted.

Amy did the same and hugged her. "I hope so."

"Be careful baby," she whispered and then left to get her car from the school where she left it.

Delighted, anxious, and excited, Amy drove the car home, wait she was calling this place home already, crazy right? Maybe money did get to one's head. As usual, she over sped into the compound and came to a halt when she saw a familiar silhouette standing at the entrance of the house.

Whistling loudly, she got out of the car, took her thousand shopping bags, and threw the car keys to a chauffeur lingering around. "What did you do to my car you woman?" she stopped by him and blinked innocently.

"You're talking to me?" she asked as she looked around.

"Yes, you and you have been overspeeding on my property."

"Oh," she smiled widely. "Accidents happen, dear husband, especially to us peasants who aren't used to using such vehicles, and as long as I haven't run into anything on our property don't mind me." She stressed the word 'our', searched his face, and beamed when she saw annoyance.

Jeff inhaled and exhaled, at this rate he was going to have depression or a mental breakdown. And it wasn't as if he hadn't heard what they were discussing in the car nor seen what they did to his car. The audacity of this woman, it was as if she was trying so hard to piss him off.

He turned to look at her but noticed she was long gone. He massaged his temples and left the villa before he got a headache.
