So the main thing that stands out here is the excellent world building which quite frankly is well developed and fleshed out over the chapters. The author's usage of indirect hints and Syril's characterization is also quite enjoyable to read. If I were to heavily scrutinize this work, the only thing which I might not be a fan of would be the simple scope of the story's world along with the relative quick pace in which new characters are introduced, making it feel a little overwhelming at times. Other than that minor personal preference, the story is one that I enjoyed and would recommend others to read.
