Chapter 2: Chapter 2

"Hi Honey," my mom greeted from the kitchen as I entered the house.

"Hey mom," I responded I took of my shoes and hung my coat. I made my way to the kitchen. My mom was busy making dinner, she was making her famous, pasta with Italian tomato sauce.

"How was your walk with George?" she asked as she cut green pepper.

"It was nice. I really needed to let of some steam before school tomorrow.

"Let of some steam meaning?" she looked over her shoulder and raised an eyebrow.

"Don't worry mom I was in human form, and we just ran, that's all," I sat on the counter next to her.

"I'm satisfied with that answer," she went back cutting green pepper and switched between cutting and stirring the pot.

"Where's dad and Grams?" I asked stealing a piece of pepper and eating it.

"Your father is in the basement. He is fixing the cages, Grams is outside I think, she mumbled something of getting fresh air," She shrugged.

"Oh," I said and stared off into space for a second. contemplating if I wanted to go to my dad or Grams.

I decided on my dad first and then Grams.

"I'm going to go check up on dad, if mom doesn't need help," I said getting off the counter.

"Do I ever need help?" She asked.

"Well, no,"

"Then you have your answer," she threw the green pepper into the pot.

I made my way to the basement. The three cages were next to each other. My dad was busy drilling a hole in the floor. He had noise cancelling headphones on. I covered my ears with my hands, which didn't do much.

When he finished drilling, he looked up and took off the headphones.

"Hey Anne," he said with a smile. It was still something I had to get used to. My dad and I had gotten closer, and he started to be friendly more and calls me 'Anne' which is better than calling me "Anna,", "irresponsible" etc.

I hadn't seen my dad like this since I was 8. It was like another world took over my reality. "Hey dad. What are you doing?" I asked, looked curiously at the holes in the floor.

"putting in more support for the cages, we almost got out last month. I'm thinking on installing another cage for you," he hinted.

"Dad, there is no need, you know that. Besides, George keeps an eye on me. It's better that way," I gave him a reassuring smile and touched his forearm. He had this look on his face that he didn't like it, but he didn't say anything. We had already established that George would look after me on full moons and that I would change in the bunker that I was taken to a view months ago when I was kidnapped. He converted it into a 'den' for me before the first full moon I changed. It was located in the middle of the pine forest, 3 Miles from the school.

My dad didn't like the idea, but my mom told him to deal with it. I helped him out for a bit and then I went outside to see if Grams was alright.

She was sitting on a fallen tree not far from the edge of the forest she wasn't doing much except looking at the forest and listening to the birds.

"Hey Annie," she said with a smile in her voice.

"Grams, please don't call me that you know I don't like that nickname," I groaned.

"Suck it up. I'm calling you that and, you can't do anything about it,"

Geez. She's worse than me.

"See anything interesting on your walk today?" she asked.

I glared at her. "It was you, wasn't it Grams?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about, but now you have me interested. You did see something,"

I hate it when she does that.

"We heard something, not see. But we have a suspicion that someone was watching us," I said in defeat.

"Well did you do something that you shouldn't have?" she had an evil grin on her face. Which meant she already knew the answer.

"We ran...very, very fast. That's all," I tried to defend myself, I sat next to her.

"And talked about wolfy stuff no doubt," she raised her eyebrow.

I flinched. "I won't tell. But if it is that vampire blonde slu-"

"Grams," I cut her off in a warning tone.

"Oh please. You've said much worse things and it's true. You can't argue,"

"I'm not arguing," I smiled.

"But the fact still stands that if it was her, we might have a problem,"

"No, it wasn't her. We didn't catch a sent. She doesn't strike me the type that would take the time to learn how to hide their sent,"

Grams made a face that said that it was true. Not to mention it would take years to learn that skill. She isn't smart enough to lean everything in one week.

"You should learn to be cautious in the future. With her out to get you, she might try desperate things to prove her point," Grams said looking at the ice crystals on the tree branches.

"I will, thanks Grams," We fell into silence.

I was drying my hair with my towel when my phone rang. I checked the caller ID, knowing it was George. Even though I did have other "friends" like Kristine, but she never called me she would talk to me at school and that's about it.

"Hey," I said when I picked up the phone.

"What are you doing right now?" he asked fast sounding out of breath.

"Uhhhhh...That's a bit forward and if I'm honest, creepy," I frowned.

"Need you to do something for me, it might be hard," he said hissing like he was in pain.

"George, are you ok?" fear started to fill me.

"No, no I'm not," he whispered.
