Chapter 13: Andrew's history

Chapter 12 (Andrew's POV)

I was getting Amy ready for our walk.

Even though it was summer, the temperatures here barely ever rise above 25°C.

I don't mind it. I grew up here, so I guess I'm used to it already. But my little monster still gets a bit cold on cloudy days so I had better make sure she is warm enough.

While I'm rumaging in her closet for an outfit and Amy is playing, I think back to yesterday and today.

What's happening to me?

It's like I can't keep my hands away from Vicky.

She was a bit of an obsession even when she was on the other side of Europe. But now, when I have her here, I just can't help myself.

She could be my happy ever after. She is kind, smart, already adores Amy, she has a wicked sense of humor...

No! I can never ever again fall in love with anyone. Especially not someone as special as Vicky.

She is too good for someone as damaged as I am.

I believed in love. A long long time ago.

Katy was my first love. We met in high school and we were that couple that people said would get married, have kids and all together have a perfect life.

And at the beginning it really was perfect. She was perfect. Together, we were perfect.

We ran in the same circle of friends so there were no problems.

She was always jealous but I never made a huge deal out of it.

But with time, her jealousy became worse. If I said hi to one of my friend's girlfriend or any of my female friends she was ready to strike with accusations about cheating.

She started going through my phone. When I came home, she looked through my bag, she even went so far as to smell my clothes for any unknown perfume.

But I stuck with her through all of it. I thought that was her way of showing me she cared.

Then one day she claimed to be pregnant with my child. I was overjoyed. I wanted to tell everyone but she said we should keep it to ourselves for now.

She was getting really paranoid the further along she got with her pregnancy but I wrote it up to hormones.

One night we had a barbecue in our back yard. It was just me, Katy, my best friend Langdon and a few other mates. It was a little group of around 8 people.

When we ran out of beer, I went inside to get some more and I overheard shouting coming from our bedroom. I went to see who was fighting, and what I saw and heard shattered me.

Katy and Langdon were in our bedroom shouting about when they should tell me the baby was not mine. Baby was Langdons.

But Katy was not ready to tell me yet because she wanted my money and she could get a piece of it only if her baby had my last name.

I stood in the doorway for a few more minutes just listening and wondering how I could not see a betrayal of such proportions playing right under my nose.

But it was too late. What was done was done.

10 years thrown away.

I finally shouted at them to stop and once they realized it was me, they both paled in seconds.

I could see Katy trying to come up with a believable excuse. But not this time.

I threw them both out. My best friend didn't even argue, but Katy tried crying, screaming, begging. But nothing worked.

Because the moment I realized two people I loved most betrayed me, I felt like I was dead inside.

It was a few days before I even attempted to leave my room.

And once more than a week passed, I went grocery shopping, but once, I tried to pay for my groceries, my card was denied. It took me a few minutes to realize what was going on.

Katy emptied my bank account. And I learned a few days later she married Langdon and fled from Scotland to who knows where.

And that was the day I swore I would never fall in love again.

I would never allow another woman to break me.

And I had to keep this thing between me and Vicky platonic. We function perfectly as friends.

She was too good for me anyway, but with my history, I also knew I could never give her the love she deserved.

At that moment, she came running barefoot into my living room. And she was wearing only my bathrobe.

"Um. Sorry. I forgot all my things are still here so I need to find clothes."

Her face was red as a tomato and she was wringing her hands nervously.

"Well go on or we won't catch any sun." I smirked at her.

"Yeah. Sure. Right. Clothes and then walking. Yes."

She shuffled to where her luggage was and when she bent over I realized my mistake. The bathrobe in my bedroom is the one I accidentally managed to shrink years ago,and when she went to get her clothes, I could see everything. From where I was standing I could even see her juices glistening on her p***y lips already.

Damn that woman was responsive. Only my words got her wet.

I didn't even realize it when I moved behind her, but my hands were suddenly on her hips and she jumped in surprise.

"I think you should grab those clothes really fast and put them on so we can go out, before I have time to overthink everything and tie you to my bed, and in that scenario we won't be going anywhere and she-devil will have to cancel her plans because she will need to come for our daughter. So decide fast what you want gorgeous. And remember I'm not a patient man."

She whimpered at my words and from where I was standing I could see her n*****s getting hard.

She grabbed her clothes in a hurry and practically ran up to my room to get dressed.

I smirked to myself.

Don't worry, gorgeous. We have all night long.
