Chapter 4: The two siblings

"Joshua you do realize you must do this, right?"

"Yeah I do." He said as he left not sparing her a glance.

He stopped in his tracks and faced her once again.

"How can you support this?" He said.

"What?" Chaya tried her best to avoid this conversation, she knew well where this was going to.

"You know better than anyone else that this is wrong. Yet, you freely looked forward to it."

"How can you say something like that, you take mercy on Haben after all they did thus far? Have you lost it? Do you know how many people here suffered because of Haben?"

"And now you dare question my loyalty towards Abhadon, my kingdom?"

"What happened to you, you are not the Chaya I knew. This is not you. I know the real you is inside." Said Joshua.

"For goodness sake stop it. Just stop it, what do you even know. You think you are the only one who cares for the well-being of the Hidden Civilization, you think that taking the throne of Abhadon is an easy task." She said imperatively.

"Joshua, I will advise you to stick to the plan before you ruin things for yourself."

"Gosh! Just look at you, if mother was here then...

"But she isn't! Father would have been here too, but he isn't! Almost everyone you and I ever loved and knew aren't here, you know why! Because of Haben!" She said at the top of her lungs.

"Are you even listening to yourself? How could you have become this heartless." He spoke. "My dear sister, you have become a monster, are you satisfied?"

Chaya felt a stinging sensation through her heart, she couldn't believe her ears, did he just call her heartless? And did he just summarise her as a monster?

The cracks in Chaya's heart increased to a thousand pieces more, she had expected anyone else misunderstanding her, looking down on her. But never she would have to witness her own brother doing so.

Yeah sure, ever since they parents death, their relationship was never the same again, but still, they loved each other in their own different ways.

But this, this was it. How could he do such a thing. Is this what he thinks of her?

Chaya was surely hurt, but she would never give him the satisfaction of seeing her hurt, hence she kept her cool before saying, "I am satisfied with what I am, truth is, I was never sweet or kind, or whatever nonsense you call these pathetic emotions. I am what I am, and I don't give a damn to what you have to say about it, got it?"

She said as she stormed out of the throne room.

As she exited the throne room and heading towards the garden, she unconsciously bumped into someone. Great, just great, if it isn't the mischievous General Jonson Uhuru. This guy's porpoise in life was to make Chaya's life a living drama. This to folks are what you call a power couple. And no, not a marital couple, but yes, a couple of a trained soldier and maid of battle.

"And what happened to you, your face is as indifferent as stone." Remarked General Uhuru.

"Not now, Jonson." She said trying to pass on the vacant space of the grand luxurious hall, but he moved from were he was and blocked her path.

"Get out of my way." She said as she tried walking past him, but his masculine physique only made things worse for her. Even though she was strong she didn't have the motivation to beat him nor argue with him.

"What is wrong with you Chaya?"

"Move Jonson, this is no time for your silly antics."

Raising his hands in defeated, temporarily defeat. He grant her space and went forth collecting the documents he left in the throne room.

"There you are," he said as he entered and saw the files on his sit.

"Holy mother of...Jonson, what the hell are you still doing here!" Jonson was on the verge of collapse, his friend has scared the hell out of him.

When Joshua didn't respond, he already knew what happened, it was all Chaya. Hence he gave his friend some time alone.

"Listen, when you need me, you know where to find me." He concluded as he left.

This siblings were sure something.

Garden...

Chaya soon reached the garden and set on her favourite place. It was a beautiful white swing with a ceiling and had roses and lilies sorounding it in a semicircle shape.

Whenever she felt sad or just wanted to relax and enjoy the cool breeze. This is where she came to. The white and only majestic swing on the entire garden.

"My dear what trouble's you?" Said the

an elderly woman who looked in her late seventies, Nkela Musinga, Queen Mother of Abhadon.

"Your highness." Courtecied Chaya.

"What brings you here, if I may ask your highness."

"Why do you need to be so formal, especially when trying here's just the two of us."

"Of course, grandma." She quickly corrected herself earning a sweet chuckle from Nkela.

"I love collecting roses. Especially the ones that grows by your swing."

"But Grandma, you..."

"What? Do you think O can't take them, this swing belonged to my daughter before you. I can take it whenever I want. You're my child as well, and what belongs to you is also mine, Correct?"

"Correct, Grandma." Said Chaya smiling.

"And I know you had a bicker with your brother. Chaya my dear, why do you make things difficult for yourself like this, he is your brother and you love each other." Said Nkela as she set on the swing alongside her granddaughter taking Chaya's hands in hers.

"He thinks I'm wrong for support the King."

"And are you?" Said Nkela.

"I don't know, Grandma." She said with a heavy breath.

"I see. You will have to make a decision, either you stand by Joshua or Zakhele." Said Nkela.

"What? How can I do that? Joshua is willing to do so, and then verdict has been already taken."

"But, Joshua is to inherit the throne, isn't he?" Said Nkela. This old lady was surely something.

"You mean..."

"Yes, but I won't pore much pressure on you, you already have the maturety to make your decisions." Spoke the Queen Mother.

"Thank you, Grandma."

Thanked Chaya as leaving for her duties.
