Chapter 6: Not predestined

"You've got that amulet." Said an enigmatic male voice that could be seen from nowhere.

"How did you get in here?" Chidinma questioned as scanning for his figure all over chamber, but found nothing, indeed this man had a solemn dominion upon stealth mode.

His moves were all unpredictable, and too rapid. He smirked before saying, "I have my own ways."

"What do you want from me?" She said in disdain.

"Listen, I know what troubles you. But believe me, this amulet alone is able to destroy all of Haben." He began.

"How come?"

"There's a vast dreadful story behind the amulet." He spoke as he stupendously out of nowhere appeared in broad daylight.

This folk was a black dude with perfect moderate olive brown complexion that complemented to his dark blue royal garments.

He looked like he was in his late thirties, if not for the fact that he was black, no doubts, surely he would be considered as a Greek god.

"You see, in ancient days, the natives of the Hidden Civilization used this very same amulet to cause chaos and destruction, the amulet was considered a weapon of power, able enough to dominate all who were against the owner."

"You know how to activate it?" Questioned Chidinma, trying to dig enough information from this dude.

"This amulet belonged to your sister, only she is the rightful owner of this portion of enchanted jewel." He spoke moving from his previous position and making himself comfortable on the couch that was in the middle of the grand chamber.

"You say portion, there's more of it."

"You are truly ignorant child, this amulet is a small portion of the enchanted jewels, the jewels that are guarded by it's legit owner."

"Legit owner?"

"Chidinma, you can never activate the amulet, for you are not predestined as it's solemn owner." He spoke in melancholy knowing how he had affected her with his words.

He knew he crashed all her hopes. 'Poor creature.' He thought to himself.

"You are only a temporary guardian of this amulet."

"How are you so sure, I retrieved the amulet from the gentile world." Spoke Chidinma casually attempting to hide agonizing desperation.

"Indeed, for that is exactly what a temporary guardian must do, protect the amulet until its owner has reached his or her true potential."

"But... but I

"For the sake of the Hidden Civilization, please do pay heed unto my words."

If you shall not harken to my words, you shall bring this whole nation to misery and you shall be held as a traitor. Do you understand? I know you mean no harm, but it is necessary to keep the amulet away."

"There are a wealth of knowledge that you know not concernant to the amulet. However you must wait for the ultimate time." He spoke with an intense gaze at the pair of coal black eyes pertaining to the woman facing him.

"You know everything, don't you?" She said averting her gaze from his.

"Of course. But if you were to know now it would only lead to destruction and oppression." He explained.

"And yes, I do not want to have to speak to you again if you were to be seen in the gentile world, don't you realize the danger you might bring upon yourself and this nation?

The munsu have been seeking for a long period and do intend on having Dominion upon the other worlds that share this continent, the word apocalypse has no might to describe the amount of misery the world would face if the munsu ( gentile) discover this part of Africa.

Do not put the lives of innocent people at stake because of your thirst for the truth, you will end up destroying everything." He spoke.

Alas, as the mysterious man appeared, he was now nowhere to be seen.

With greeted teeth, she attempted to calm her overwhelming emotions upon knowing that all her work to activate the mystical pendant was effortless. All these years. Reaching yonder her might to unlock the mysteries hidden in that amulet, the desire to quench her thirst for the truth, only to be struck by the harsh reality.
