Chapter 26: The Aftermath of Stage One - Part 2

On the way home, I noticed a big commotion on the street.

I noticed several Espers fighting against Spectrum-Judgement. They had taped off a very large portion of the area and several NPO officers were standing around keeping bystanders away. From what I could see, there were around twelve Spectrum-Judgement personnel and seven-or-so criminals.

From this distance, all I could see were large explosions and bright colours all over the area. The entire place was splattered with some type of paint—I wasn't really sure why it was everywhere. The NPO officers stood scattered around the edge of the battlefield, as I walked closer, one of them approached me.

'Can't you see this area is blocked off? Go away.'

'My house is on the other side.'

'Find another way or something. I'm really busy so hurry up.'

I could sense that there wasn't much reasoning I was going to do with them. They didn't exactly look all that busy since they were simple just standing around—but I guess I'd take their word for it.

I wasn't going to be able to go through here so I decided to walk back and find another way.

As I turned to walk around, I suddenly heard an extremely loud explosions behind me. I quickly turned back around and saw a car flying straight towards me. Its wheels had fallen off and the glass was broken, it was practically just a metal exoskeleton, quickly hurtling towards me.

Shit.

I had only a few seconds to react.

As fast as I could, I summoned [Blood Blade] and tried to block.

This was going to hurt.
