Chapter 43: Clowns Behind a Mask

It was a room filled with pictures of her. Those she'd never even known existed as well as three life-sized figurines with different lewd poses.

She gulped before taking a step inside. To her left was a lineup of all the perfumes, hair, and body products she'd ever used as well as some of her old belongings.

To her right were lists of her favorite things from brands to foods all pinned to the wall. There was also a list of sentences she loved to hear.

'I'll take care of you'.

'I'll always be here for you'.

Diane burst out in laughter. "You love me, huh?". Her wild laughter gradually turned to tears after finding a timetable of the days he did it with the live figurines. "This... this isn't love". Her voice cracked as she rushed to leave the house, unable to take in any more.

Her hand fell on the doorknob but it refused to open. She struggled with it for a while before concluding it'd been locked.
